How to stay motivated when your previous strategies don't work as well?

How do you increase your motivation when the previous strategies that you have used don't work as well?

Of course, I think the answer is to develop new strategies to stay motivated. However, that may be easier said than done, so to speak.

So, how do you evolve new strategies to maintain your motivation and drive to have success?

Learning that something works will motivate you to do more of the same.
Learning that something does not work, should motivate you to do something different.
While high confidence is beneficial if you are doing what you need to do, it is actually a problem when you need to change your approach. Disappointment will solve that particular problem. So disappointment changes your confidence, not your motivation.
If you have no energy left, motivation wont help you. Just get some sleep and start over.

Hi Michael. Motivation is very much an individual choice. In my observations it comes down to personal desire to make change.

Here is what I offer my new business partners when we start to work together.

    How to discover your mojo

    1. Find a place which you feel relaxed in and can spend about 15-20 minutes
    2. Focus on your breathing. Nice long deep breathes in through the nose out through the mouth
    3. Focus on your breathing until you feel relaxed and then in your mind go through each of the methods you have used one at a time.
4 for each method you think about in your mind monitor how you feel about the method.
    5. If all methods thought about give you a bad to uncomfortable feeling, then ask in your mind what is the way forward for me.
    6. Sit quietly after asking the question in step 5 until you get the answer. If you dont get the answer repeat step 5 another time until you get the answer.

Once you have your answer focus all your energy on this method.

Good luck and if you need some help PM me

    Regards

    James

Thanks for the tips, James. It helped me a lot. Motivation can be very challenging especially if you work from the comforts of your home.

Is procrastination bad. many people report and many studies show that procrastination is actually beneficial.

    • I was always led to believe procrastination is not a good thing. I am curious as to how it could be shown to be positively helpful in life.

I like the advise formerly offered of finding one thing to focus on and do well, repeatedly.

I wish you great energy on the personal challenge you face.

PS I would also watch some Zig Ziglar motivational videos on YouTube.

    Motivation is about failure.

The more you fail, the less you are motivated.

But more than that there is another problem:
The more you feel guilt, the more you fail.

We could write tons about motivation, but one thing that I always thought was worth repeating is this:
    Build habits, not rules.

If you build rules you'll end up feeling guilt when you can't make it.
If you build habit you can keep the motivation flowing without the guilt problem.

After that, you just need a system to stick with habits, and you're done.

    Want to refuel your motivation?
    Do small steps.
Break the problem into small solvable pieces or look at another problem.
Chances are you'll end up motivated again.

We fear big things, that's why aiming high is sometimes against us.
If you feel like motivation is going down, do the things I mentioned before or
    just-take-a-break.

    Either can do
