Here is what I like to share with you:
My 4 year old daughter Lina-Marie came to me one morning and told me that she wants to learn swimming.
So we went swimming every Wednesday afternoon and she got better and better. After a while she wanted to get rid of the supporting swim suit (looks like an explosive vest... but keeps her above water line). No sooner said than done!
The next attempts she was always going to nosedive straight away and I have to do my best to not letting her dive too deep... But she wanted to go for it again and again and again. I begin to think that it might be no good idea to let her try it again and again as it might be too difficult for her to learn it right now. But she insisted on doing it again and again. After countless attempts she finally did it and pulled 5 meters straight. What a smile on her face! "Daddy I did it, I did it", she shouted and her eyes were sparkling. What a great day, what an achievement, what a success!
Now it's always great to see others succeed and if it's your own child, nothing comes close to it. On the other hand this reminds me about the fact that we all have the ability to achieve far more than we think and to never ever give up on something that we really want to achieve. Right now, if I only feel the touch of negativity I always see her face and her sparkling eyes reminding me of what really counts in live.
I hope this little story inspires you and I'm eager to hear your story. Thanks in advance for all your great posts!
