What are the qualities required for success in business

I have read some philosophy and also the military strategist Sun Tzu. Here are two pieces of advice from him.

"If you know yourself and know the enemy you need not fear the results of a thousand battles."

"If the battle cannot be won, don't fight it."

Now I have been some years in Internet marketing and made some money but nowhere near enough to support myself. In fact I have spent much more then I have earned on courses and ebooks and the like.

So better late than never I have decided to do some introspection. It is necessary to know myself AND know the enemy.

Can someone please recommend a book that describes the qualities required for success in business. Or if you have had success yourself then also you may know what qualities are required.

That deals with knowing yourself. It is also necessary to know the enemy. The enemy in this case may be described as the field or the terrain of Internet marketing.

So what are the peculiarities of internet marketing that I need to be aware of.. Are there any general principles relating to internet marketing that will let me know what I am up against.

I really need this. I have spent years of my life and lots of money in Internet Marketing and if I do not do this self evaluation I might spend even more.

This thread might also help some newbies who are just getting into the game so that they do not make the same mistakes that I did.
