I`'ve read that having passion and persistence and a positive frame of mind are needed to start any entrepreneurial project, what else is needed though and Why aren't these things taught in schools or even college?

    Proper Goal Setting!

    Here’s how to do it.
    1. Write down a list of 10 goals that you want to achieve in a specific amount of time. For ex: One year.
    2. Look at your list a pick the direst goal on it. (This will ultimately help you achieve all the other goals that are on your list.)
    3. Write down your goal in a manner that you have already achieved it (in the present tense.) Do this daily!
    4. Now ask yourself how you are going to achieve your goal. Come up with twenty answers. It MUST twenty answers. It will be hard.
    5. Take action IMMEDIATELY! You may not know how you to do some of the things on your list so you will have to figure it out!
    6. Do something every day towards your goal until you are successful.
    7. Remind yourself that failure is not an option.
This is the model that I follow and it came from the book NO EXCUSES! By: Brian Tracy. It’s not verbatim but it is pretty darn close. Remember you must write everything down.
I hope this helps. It may seem like a lot of work but success takes a lot of work.

the education system is made to turn human beings into compliant average workers with interchangeable skills . it focuses on fixing weaknesses rather than nurturing excellence.

the people who are successful ..who achieve more than 1000 other people in their field ..dont chase the money they find what they are goo at..then do what they can to get better and better at it ..as you get better more money usually become a marker for that improvement .

do what you would love to do for 12 hours a day 5 6 7 days a week..or that you are always doing even when playing ..

goals work..but rarely is it worth the time and effort writing goals if you have no personal excitement from the outcome of the goal .

I have had 1 main goal the last 4 years ..to figure out what i wanted to do ..and the answer to that has only come into focus recently .

the education system tend to leave people without basic skills that most people had 40 or 50 years ago ..in most cases a good chunk of successful people didn't do too well in school ..or in the case of many dyslexic people i have read about had to devekop people skills to get around their problems .

don't be average per sue excellence.

I totally agree and as technology advances faster every year, more and more skills are becoming useless. Schools focus on remembering old knowledge when adaptive and creative thinking are the skills people really need.

Basically they are using industrial age techniques, so that people could become an cog in a machine/company, to prepare people for a future in the information age where constant learning and adapting what you know is more important.

Success principals are taught in schools. Just not in the classrooms. Extracurricular sports where a good coach can instill the desire to win in young minds. The successful people in life were involved in competitive extracurricular school activities.

My coach is a great motivator. I see many new coaches now telling kids, aww its ok to lose. Its ok to fail. That is bad coaching in my opinion. They should be telling kids if you work hard and practice everyday you can win and not to stop practicing until you win. Not necessarily belittling kids for losing.

No Matter How Bad It Gets
No Matter How Hard it Get
        I'm Going to Make It.
        It's Not Over

yes it was designed by the industrialist to get people too accept the lowest wage possible for the most work the company can get from them ..

in the last 30 years or 40.. it has taken all teaching of debt or interest out ..and convinced people that after 13 years plus in the system..it is ok that the people who do well have to pile on debt to get marketable skills .

9 out of ten people common out of a degree program..may know 100 things to do with ramen noodles //but they couldn't make themselves a simple salad even if you put the tomatoes the onion ..the mushrooms ..and the lettus in front of them ..

it has to be in a bag or pre cut ..

lets not forget they want to make money from a job..but many have been trained the company they work for is evil for wanting to make money employing them ..

Still, education system in US is pretty well designed. It teaches you how to think and fight for your rights it also helps you pursue one certain path of career. I'm not saying it's perfect but i assure you its one of the best in the world. While in US education doesnt help you to get proper mindset for success, in other countries, education simply kills it.

  • You are so right. Passion, persistence and patience certainly are required as part of any successful venture, but also a person must first be educated on how to use those character attributes to become entrepreneurialy self-sufficient.

Sadly, as many have mentioned, schools were not designed to give understandable working tools to become financially self-sufficient through building a business. Such a fate seems to be the luck of the few as compared to the multitudes of people on the planet.

But, no matter, it is never too late to wake up to right ideas and start anew.

I am always arguing with people, mainly family and friends that school will not lead to a life of dreams. It MAY help you find a stable job and live a steady life. But myself, I dont want that. My girlfriend is already 15k in debt and has not even started her course yet.. 3 more years of that and 45k later ... Time for a mortgage and whatever else life throws at you, whilst trying to score a well paying job out of the 100's that graduated with you.

Personally, I was a high achiever , but then things changed, I saw where my life was going and the corporate bait I was being bred for.. I spent the remaining years of my education dreaming, dreaming BIG. Day and night. Grades went down , not by a lot but still enough to raise concern. Was I worried ? Not at all as I knew I was spending my energy more wisely by arming myself with the knowledge to break free of the wage slavery my fellow class mates were all unknowingly lining up for.

I truly believe this community will lead to a high percent of dream successors. Engage, share ideas and take action! Life if what you make it.

well said, we all go to school building up a huge mound of debt and this leads us to make bad decisions, but once we recognize that school is as outdated as the walkman, only then will we as a society ever move forward.

but maybe that's the point of education, to enslave the youth with high mounds of debt, so that they take whatever jobs just to pay the interest off the debt??

i say hell no! the internet is now a huge reality and now the game can be played by anyone, no matter who or even what type of education!

Usually the concept of entrepreneurship is taught in schools. But incomplete.

i'm beginning to see why education is failing so many kids, they really don't teach relevant skills, but that may be for a reason, maybe they are teaching us to be good little consumers.

    a) The belief that whatever your goal is, it's possible for you to achieve it.
    b) The habits required to achieve the goals.
    c) Strategies, tactics and processes to achieve the goal.

Some school or college may teach entrepreneurship but most don't, I guess because they are run by employees and not entrepreneurs.

no doubt, the relevant skills are not taught in schools, the education system takes years to change, they spend so much money on textbooks with information from the 1960s.

but maybe that's changing, maybe not.

but one thing i know for sure is that life skills necessary to succeed are definitely not taught.

but maybe it's meant to be that way,

schools exist to create suffering and companies offer relief for their suffering?

      dude!

imagine if a teacher is trying to teach technology and the internet to his students and they all just keep correcting the teacher about everything, 'cause that's exactly what would happen, the kids would just know way too much more than the dinosaurs.

but there are some schools that are teaching for example A+ certification, but what's needed is the gameplan,

the kids could care less about their careers because they don't see 10 years into the future...

I agree with you is a lot of things they should be teaching in school. But most of the time, not just school, but society in general teaches us all the things that we cannot accomplish, building a thick wall of limitations inside of us.

        I think that is not just one ingredient needed to achieve success, but in my opinion the most important are;

        • Find your passion, once you find what you love to do you will realize you have and especial talent for that.
        • Eliminate the inner walls of limitations, everything is possible
        • Trust in yourself, sometimes we put all our trust in our project, but we don't have trust in ourselves in our abilities, in our talents.
        • Enjoy every moment, success is a journey not a destination, don't forget to enjoy every step
        • See the big picture, sometimes we get so busy on the doing, doing, that we lost perspective, and we ended up bumping into trees.
        • Listen to your intuition; we receive so many signals along the way that can make the road a lot easier
And always remember that doing sometimes scared our energy, the most powerful concentration of our energy is not just doing, but to take the right action at the right time.

    3. Find ways to keep your goals fresh in your mind to maintain motivation
    4. Figure out a system of being productive that works best for YOU

Firstly...the keys to success are not taught in schools as these concepts and real education ideas will compromise the production line of "good workers" that are produced by our education systems.

To be successful you need to make a specific decision that that's what you want. As when you make the decision to get what you really want you equip yourself with a resolve that will come into play a multitude of times!

Believe you will be successful and achieve what you want, this is vital as many people who are not working towards their goals will have time to criticize you and remind you each and every time you fail.

Fail your way to success! Every mistake of failure is a lesson...embrace it and learn, no matter how difficult it may be at the time.

Your goal! Have this clear, focus on it daily, believer in it and do all that you can daily to achieve!

You need patience, money come slowly. You need to learn how to invest on tools, services that will help you to save your time and money. Those things are not taught in school because school only teach you the basic things to develop your brain. From that, you need to learn all by yourself. Just like internet marketing you learn all by yourself and apply it.

Things are not like we see them in the school, TV, radio even internet. Because government wants us to keep in prison in our body. Instead they teach us how to think, they show us what to think. That is the definition for the Matrix.

Aside having the passion and persistence to pursue your own defining measure of success - which includes educating yourself to the tools, resources, and skillsets required to complete or at least compete in your chosen pursuit...

    There is one thing that resides above all else;

"A sincere willingness to provide for others!"

Be it by providing solutions, information, guidance, instructions, or just being entertaining and lightening the weight others carry... Your plan needs to include your audience, buyers, prospects best interests at the forefront.

If you just want (or need) the money and that is your primary focus, it will more often then not; leak out into your audience.

I see it all the time with people asking for reviews, or critique on a website, or in their attempts at writing sales copy or in branding their business... All too often it's that "all about me wanting to get rich online perspective" that reaks FAILURE.

As far as schooling, it's not 'how?' -or- 'who' you obtain your knowledge from, it's more important to know; 'what?' to do with it, and to 'whom it can serve?' - for that is 'where' true success dwells.

Hell, you can teach a parrot to recite Shakespeare, but it damn sure won't teach him to write poetry... Sadly, a large portion of the so-called academically privileged do nothing with the educations they pay out the ass for!

Me, I prefer learning in the trenches, hands on, and even though there's disadvantages to being self-taught (i.e. lack of structured layering) - it can be far less costly than weilding a useless degree and working at Mickey D's.

In closing, I also believe the education system is a rouse of sort, teaching a silent conformity, for if not; they would include a stronger emphasis on the importance of pursuing ones innermost ambition, and encouraging students to pursue their dream, not societies nightmare.

If 'we' as a whole broke down the superficial scales that weigh us based on tons of bias, prejudice, and close minded thinking... We could become free simply by helping others without seeking the reward beforehand.

Sadly, the world defies us, as the vast majority fall prey as Blind Melon's tune "Home" denotes... "Scratch & Claw, and Grip the Rails" - and in doing so, promotes an all for one, and one for none 'desperate' fear-induced mentality.

Be it better... Be it best, you find empathy for others, and find a way to prioritize becoming a solutions provider, for they really don't teach that shit... because most people already know; they deserve better, and yet are drowning in thirst seeking something that flows without limitation... becauuse they are programmed to believe working for peanuts over time will enable them to have a life later. (As Maury says; "the lie detector determined... THAT WAS A LIE!"

"Become liquid, be like water..." nothing can stop a rushing river!

What is bad? The scientists are more focused to create something that will help the mankind grow faster, but their forget in the same time to check how much this device can will be unhealthy for those who will use it. Let's take the wi-fi devices as example. Most of the world have in their homes and actually they don't know how much that device can affect on their brain or body. I am sure that the big companies like Microsoft, Apple or Samsung know how to solve this problem, but it will cost them much more money to do that and that's why they keep that in secret.

On the other side, what is good? Let's take the smartphone as example. You can travel all around the world and stay in touch with every person in contact by one piece of device who can put in your pocket. Plus, if you find area where is a wi-fi signal, you can communicate for free!

You have to stretch your comfort zone. That is, if you keep doing what you've always done, you'll get what you always got.

Just this week, I looked at my business, and said to myself, of all the things you know how to do, and you think are easy, do any of these things need to be done to make the business grow? And the answer was, well, yes, there are all sorts of those things I could do, but you know what, they don't grow my business, don't make more sales, bring in more customers.

So, what do I need to do to make more sales and bring in more customers? 2 things.
    1. get expert at the one thing that seems close to impossible for me
    2. quit spending so much time on each thing, just get them done fast

I generally don't buy IM courses, because I mostly know most of that stuff. But I just bought a course that is supposed to grab me by the hand and walk me through a case study, I am supposed to pause the video and do as he did. This will stretch my comfort zone. I WILL become if not expert, at least very proficient in this area I feel is impossible right now. When I am expert, it will be comfortable to do it!

The education system is set up for us to continually rely on those who own businesses, and those who own the world, so that way the majority of us will be easier to control.

I think one of the most important is goal, however goal will not work without willingness to reach it or motivation to do it. I also believe that sometimes taking risks is one step closer to success. I mean, think about things thoroughly it is not about just grabbing risks, just weigh in pros and cons.

They come from within and are not necessarily teachable. You develop them as you go along and in effect, all academic subjects demand some element of perseverance and passion.

Have a plan, stick to it and get ready to work your butt off.

Just like Will Smith said, it's not about talent as much as it is about working hard.

It's more about discipline - being consistent and deciding to stick at it through thick and thin. That's how successful people behave.
