Creative thoughts

Creativity is not just only there for the artist and writers. Every human possesses a little bit creativity; it is something that we all can apply in anyway. Thinking creative is thinking with a 'curve'.

Stop criticizing

Criticizing lets you make fast decisions. Making fast decisions isn't good in thinking creative, because you will not give new ideas the chance to develop. This is the reason why I say that you shouldn't criticize an idea in the beginning.

Observe, but don't judge.

Try to observe the systems in life, without looking with a subjective POV. Seeing things how they are is going to give you better ideas. Observe the systems and imagine how they can be better or different. An example who did this is Kickstarter.com. They saw how the crowd funding system worked. After that they were thinking how it could be different or better. Than they made a crowd funding website focused on creative projects. Now they made many millions, with such a simple idea.

Make connections.

It is surprisingly effective when you make connections with different elements from different systems. Take a look at the mobile monopoly. The maker of that product was thinking way of making money online. He made a connection between affiliate marketing and mobile social media. With that idea he became a millionaire.

The power of imagination.

Try to get that old imagination back that you had as a kid. Try to dream about things that might look impossible. You have an instant good idea if you can find a possible solution for a problem that was almost impossible to fix.

-------------------------------------------------------------
Steps

Define the problem.

Think about what the people need? Don't brainstorm the ideas to fix the problem. Just define the problem in the most possible details. Because if you don't know the problem, than you will get ideas about random things and will lose time. Try to define the problem
in one sentence.

Now the ideas.

Think about how you can fix the problem. Not only one idea, but as much alternative possible. First write down the ideas that just come out of the blue. After that the ideas that came after creative thinking.

Being critical.

Only in this phase you may be critical. Now you have to choose what ideas are going to work.

Putting your ideas to action.

Take your top 5 ideas and put them to action. See how I am not talking about one idea, but do 5 ideas at the same time.

-------------------------------------------------------------

Example idea: A working idea that I formed by the steps.

Define the problem.

I was seeing the problem that people on odesk/freelancer/elance, want to have them projects done for cheap and quickly. So the problem is: How can the hirers of freelancer, get a quick and cheap solution.

The Good idea that I had is.

Using gigs from fiverr to do jobs on odesk/freelancer/elance.

Using odesk/freelancer/elance to do jobs on odesk/freelancer/elance.

Using software to do jobs on odesk/freelancer/elance.

Finding someone online on odesk/freelancer/elance that is good in one thing.

Doing jobs only in a niche. So than I get high ratings on the sites, and that means more offers.

Doing the jobs myself on ondesk/freelancer/elance.

Being critical

The two ideas that were the best:

Using gigs from fiverr to do jobs on odesk/freelancer/elance.

Using odesk/freelancer/elance to do jobs on odesk/freelancer/elance.

Putting my ideas to action.

I knew how the sites worked. And explained this to an Philippines freelancer. You can find them for cheap at Hire Filipinos - Find Online Workers in the Philippines | EasyOutsource. I explained her to do all the jobs above, and let her take the top rated gigs on fiverr and apply with them to jobs in odesk/freelancer/elance. This won't make you millions, but it can make you at least $ 200 each month on semi-automatic pilot.

As simple as that I created an Idea. Now your turn.

For me, I really like defining the challenge and then taking a walk... hitting the sauna... meditating... listening to a brain entrainment audio... and letting the creative thoughts come to me as they may... it seems like, when I try to "force" them, I feel blocked, stuck... getting "out of my own way" and "out of my mind" (especially with meditation) helps me a lot.

I like that you mapped out the idea parallels between having someone else put together the work for the freelance gigs... it sounds like you've taken action on that front, so good on you man... keep it moving and the creative ideas flowing!

There was a very brilliant copywriter who talked about creativity being the synthesis of two previously-unmatched ideas! I really thought that was awesome and similar to your point here.

Fire me a pm if you have a question. I build businesses and provide consulting. I do not do finance/money/internet marketing niches. Fitness, self-improvement and various others are welcome.
