Mindset Vs. Belief System

The terms mindset and belief system are interchanged in many posts in this forum. But they are two entirely different beasts.

Mindset is your mental image of what you want be in your life - your desires, aspirations and the resulting action plan that will propel you to succeed.

Your current life situation is the reflection of your belief system.

If, for example, you have a mindset of a millionaire and taking action accordingly for a long time but for some reason could not make any money, you have got the mindset of a millionaire but the belief system of a poor man.

Your mindset and belief system are in conflict. When there is conflict between your mindset and belief system, your belief system always win.

Self improvement techniques/systems help you bring your mindset and belief system in agreement and help you to be successful in life. The strange thing about a self improvement technique or system is what works for one may or may not work for other simply because people and their belief systems are unique.

If you are practicing a self improvement system is not helping you to bring about the change you desire in your belief system, try something different and unconventional.

    hello,

from my studies how i define mindset .. is there are two basic mindsets ,, the first mindset is where you believe everything about you is static and predetermined and there is little you can do to change or improve ..

the other mindset is that of a growth mindset where there are things you can do to improve upon what you started with .

beliefs never work alone ..we all have belief systems with layers of beliefs ..though no two people gave the same system .

the static mindset will hold on to beliefs weather or not they do any good ..or even if they are harmful. there are many people running around with ideas of what they can and can't do that where imprinted at five or ten years old . now they never test or question it and need some outside event to force changes.

those with a growth mindset .. will test beliefs that don't fit anymore and replace them .but the world prefers people with static belief systems .. so in many cases a growth mindset person will have to change the people around them to fit the new beliefs they have .
