Hi fellow Warriors,

I just wanted to share these 3 little things I have been doing each morning for a while now, to help me start the day. Maybe this will be usefull to some of you aswell..

1. How to force yourself out of bed
If you are like me, you're having a hard time to get out of your bed when the alarm goes off. I used to press the snoose button all the time, which doesn't get you anywhere. In fact, this only makes you even more tired. I knew I had to change this, but didn't really do anything about it.

That was untill someone shared an interesting app with me, called: 'Sleep If U Can'. You set the alarm before you go to bed, nothing special. But to turn it off, you have to go to the pictured place and take a photo (Your bathroom, kitchen, livingroom, whatever you choose). And it doesn't stop untill you have done so. Genius! The app costs $1,99. Best app purchase I have ever made, gets me up every morning.

Edit: They have recently changed the name of the app to 'Alarmy'

2. Take an ice cold shower
Why? Well, the first part is obvious: it wakes you up. However, there are much more benefits related to taking a cold shower than just that. Let me give you a list of some of those benefits:
- Increases energy and well-being
- Strengthens immunity
- Improves circulation
- Relieves depression
- Keeps skin and hair healthy
I first started trying this after seeing this video in which Jerome Jarre explained some benefits of taking a cold shower. It's kind of hard to do at first, but you will feel much better after doing it. Go try it!

3. Drink water
immediately upon waking up
I'm sure most of you have heard about this one already. Drinking water before you eat or drink anything else can greatly improve your health. Tip: you can get even more benefits out of this by puting some lemon in your water. Take a look at this video where Tony Robbins explains the benefits, and how it works.

So that's my list of morning tips. I hope this can benefit you aswell. Just try it, and see if it makes you feel better. And maybe if you have some morning tips of your own, you could share them here aswell!

    Great tips,

I also tend to stay away from coffee and other CNS stimulating drinks as I dread the crash 2-3 hours later. Now I take 3-4 caps of Rhodiola Rosea and Im good to go both mentally and physically.

I think the optimal amount of water to consume when waking is 1l ice cold, great for skin cell rejuvenation .

A slight crack in the window , now matter how hot or how cold, always leaves me refreshed due to constant circulating air!

That's about it really, I have deff got to get that app, thanks ADRD I'll check out Google play!

Cools tips! I was expecting for you to say do push ups or some other thing that's been repeated over and over. I'll try the cold shower thing tomorrow.

I already set my alarm and place it on the opposite side of the room from my bed, so there's always a small walk to turn it off. Works like a charm

Thanks for the tips. I might have to give the cold shower a go. I don't have a problem getting out of bed but sometimes it takes a minute for me to get some motivation. Shocking the system might help.

When I get up I have a routine that consists of laying in bed for about 5 minutes. I put a smile on my face and think of positive things or things that I am greatful for.

Then I take the dog outside, feed the rabbits and chickens. In return I get a great breakfast of fresh eggs. I eat breakfast while its quiet no distractions. After breakfast I proceed by checking email and stats. This whole process takes about an hour.

I then workout. My workouts vary in lengh because I go until I feel I am done. Then I am good for the day.

I just want to add to my original post.

Its kind of a trial and error process. But instead of trying things to get you out of bed when you dont want to, why not make it so you have to get out of bed?

What do I mean by this? Well for the last week I have been experimenting with different amounts of water before I go to bed. I have figured out if I drink 1 and a bit glasses of water straight before bed I can get roughly 7 and a half hours of sleep before I HAVE to get out of bed to pee lol

Give it a go. Find out the optimal amount of water is before bed !

SORTED! I think ill make that a WSO - How to optimize your bladder for exact sleep times.

Cool tips! Didn't know an app like that existed.

I have dabbled with the cold shower but failed miserably. It definitely takes some getting used to.

But I always drink a big ol' glass of water in the morning, usually followed by coffee.

I'm always tweaking and improving my morning ritual. Thanks for the tips!

I'd suggest to take a little less cold shower, for a short time, and then just try to go from there. Little by little, each day a bit more colder/longer. Try it, it works!

My morning ritual consists of as follows:

I drink half a liter of water first thing in the morning. Then I go for a run. Then I meditate for half an hour. Then I take a cold shower (not ice cold though). Then I have a healthy breakfast (fruits and veggies). Then I start working

I find that I am much more productive than if I don't do these things. How you start the day is how you live you're going to live your day!

Interesting. But mine is with a little difference.
    1. I get up early because I want to. I want to be early in the tennis court to avoid the heat of the sun and to be able to do more things right after that.

    2. I drink a glass of orange/mango juice which I make myself.

    3. When I was in Scotland or other temperate countries, I found it impossible to take a shower with unheated water. I wonder how you can do that. But I do take a shower before breakfast.

I can't begin to describe how much cold showers have changed my life. It only took 3 or 4 days of getting into the habit before it stopped being a big deal.

It's so EASY because it doesn't require effort, just standing under the water and letting the emotional rush do its thing.

True! I know about numerous successful people that get up at around 5 AM, then do some type of workout and start working an hour later, at around 6.

I have not tried it myself since I feel more producive later at night. However, I'd like to try it some time, but I think it will take some planning and endurance to turn it into a habbit before it becomes beneficial..

Good tips. I have problems with snooze button too! It forms a habit, i.e. just keep hitting it! Not sure if I could apply the method of the app, would wake too many others in my house, so looking for another idea to encourage me to get up on first alarm. So far the simplest I've found is to put the alarm out of reach so that I need to physically get out of bed to switch it off.

    1. Breath on a mirror. If it fogs up I am alive. That is a good sign.

    2. Start a pot of coffee, go the the bathroom, and take my meds. Before the pot is done get my first cup of coffee which is about 4 minutes.

    3. Take the 15 second commute to the home office and get to work!

  • The 3 morning habits I can't do without are:

    1. Waking my daughter (with hugs and kissess) for school and having breakfast with her. This, for me, is better than coffee. Nothing perks me up more than seeing my daughter excited to go to school.

    2. Exercising with my husband. I'm lazy when it comes to exercising. Good thing I was finally able to convince my husband to be my gym buddy.

    3. Lots of water and some strong green tea. Refreshing and relaxing at the same time.
