What/Who Inspired You to Make Money Online?

Hi Warriors,

I am just curious. What or who inspired you to start making money online?

As for me, it's definitely the IM lifestyle and the ability to make money while I'm still in school.

What about you?

    Hi there:

Firstly best of luck in school!

The idea of working at home for the most part (excluding the public-speaking) took the stress and dread of the office environment away.

Not being in traffic 5 to 6 days a week could make anyone motivated to find a way to earn at home.

    Have a great weekend.

I got sold for the ability to leverage our time to make 5 to 10 x more than what we can make at a job and the ability to live the dream lifestyle of "working" only 45 minutes to an hour a day at any beach with a laptop.

In 2003 I was employed and I have worked hard 3 years, almost full day, 8 to 19-20 in the evening, with a boss near me. One day, surfing on the net, I have read that peoples are making a lot of money with adsense, or from affiliate programs. Starting that day, I have promised myself one day I will say "Goodbye" to my boss, taking life in my hands and start earning money from the internet.
The freedom that I have now is incredibly motivating me. I can wake up at any hour, I can work any time I want, in what day I want, I do not have a boss near me. And the most important thing that motivates me most is that there is no limit to the money that I can earn on the internet. The sky is the limit.

Well, when the restaurant I was working at closed down, I was browsing around and up popped some program to make cash online. I became hooked on the idea ever since and I've been wanting to make it happen. I've had many failures along the way, but I won't give up completely on it.

This might sound a little longwinded, but in order to explain I'll tell you a bit of history first.

I'm a writer. I've written fiction since I was a kid - multiple short stories, some poems, a couple full-length novels. I've also known it's the least profitable career path - unless you happen to strike it big. I've always been bored with school, and after I graduated high school I realized I really did not feel like dwiddling around with classes I fell asleep in, to get a job under a miserable boss and only make $30,000 a year. I said to myself, "Screwwwww that."

The alternative was starting a business. A friend and I dwiddled around on Etsy for awhile, and though we've closed that site down and plan to start another in future, that's not something I wanna do right now.

One night while I was bored, I surfed around and discovered a site called Maverick Money Makers. I'd heard of Internet scams for years and looked at the page, thought if it was a scam, it was sure as hell an elaborate one. (Turns out I was right, sadly. If you want the gory details, go here.) Even though the program itself isn't all it's cracked up to be, it DID give me the inspiration to start learning. I did learn a few basics, wrote down every single website he had in his links page, and then pretty much left after that. I didn't incur any real losses.

Since my brief MMM membership, I learned a hell of a lot - some from ebooks, but mostly just figured out for myself. I've never given up, even if I got burned a LOT in the beginning. I've basically kept up my determination and I won't stop until I've achieved my goals... again, and again, and again.

My interest started around in 2006. I wasn't happy with where my life was. I hated the job i was in. I've always wanted to be self employed and have quite a few offline business ventures i'd like to get to (its evergreen..so my particular offline business venture could easily be started post recession, which if i hit my online goals i could do it)

I weighed up what my interests were and figured anything with computers/internet was the way to go for me. Too bad at that stage i was halfway through a retail management course. I ended up joining a big webmaster forum(wont say which one..kinda wished i'd signed up here first!). Basically read everything i could..
2yrs later I have solid goals and plans to make money online. I have about 6 revenue streams planned (working under the philosophy to not keep all eggs in one basket).
If 1 fails chances are the other 5 will still bring in money. If all 6 work out,I should be able to bring in close to 8-10k in first month or two. (if your wondering..I'm not relying on ppc either)

So initially i was inspired to make enough money to establish an offline business but now it's turned more towards..i have no choice and of course the ideals of having passive income and to travel the world.

    Hi All,
A few years ago I had a great job you know the whole bit. I went to work and had a seizure behind the wheel. Long story short I have an inoperable brain tumor. I am a single parent to a great son who will be 16 this year. I had to lose my job, house, the ability to drive basically everything most people take for granted in their every day lives.
So I have a few goals here in my life.
To make sure I succeed and get off of disability forever!
Live a comfortable life with my son for the rest of it
Be able to get him a car for his BD
Leave him something to have for the future

As the saying goes--out of desperation comes great things!

    All my best,
    Lina

      Mines a cool story..

Back when I was new to th internet I think 11 years old, I seen these courses for making money online, but obviosuly back then it wasn't easy for me to comprehend or to just throw money at to see if I coud learn something, anyhow I was too sceptical.

I'd seen these pages over and over again throughout my teenage years, but still my scepticism held me back.

IT was in July 2008 I really started looking at all the different ways to make mone online, but still the salespages I came across held me back being extremely sceptical and quite the person to accuse everything of being a scam.

Then one day, a mate of mine who had been watching the secret etc.. phone dme up and asked me to come downand watch, so I di, at this stage I was very interested in NLP and hypnosis but the secret had a more cimplistic approach and I had a new found energy.

Then not long after tis he phoned me up again sayin he had bought a course to make money online, I immediately went round his house to have a look.

Finally my suspicions were erased I seen that it was real and that I really could use a course to start making money online.

I went home and bought the course and got to work..

Now here I am just under a year later with a great life laid out in front of me and happier than ever to follow through on a salespage, without thinking a scam right away.

For me it was also a few people, but no guru in particular that got me started, though some have helped along the way. One was my last boss who frustrated me to the point that I quit my job in the middle of a staff meeting, said "Consider that my resignation" and walked out never to return. Wow that was liberating!

Another is absolutely my partner Darren who I can't bear to be away from. Since I started working for myself we've never spent a day apart.

But, a third thanks has to go out to Justin Brooke. I had already started working for myself, but I encountered Justin's ebooks and videos, and he introduced me to the concept of site flipping, which I've been making a living off ever since. If you're reading this, thanks Justin!

It was interesting to read what every one said about their origins in internet marketing.

I, personally, love internet marketing because it is compatible with my lifestyle. I don't like having a routine. With internet marketing, I can travel and explore while I still make money.

I quit my job about 14 months ago, once income from my affiliate projects started to really kick off. And these 14 months have been amazing.

Thanks to internet marketing (commission junction in specific) I was able to travel to 3 states, buy an amazing car, and work at my own pace.

That if I make it, I'll be able to earn a lot of money, without having to study some masters degree that I don't care about and then working my way up. But more than that, the possibility of being free - both in terms of having the kind of money you want so you can do the things you dream of, and being your own master. Also the possibilities of outsourcing and automating and still making money in order to have a lot of spare time while still earning $$$ seems very tempting.

    Hello,

Well being that I was employed with the Verizon Wireless Call Center in Both Bellevue, Wa and transferring to Tempe, Az--and absolutely hating my job..the daily toil of driving in hot traffic, congested traffic, and signing in with a bunch of gossiping people--who were are pawing at the supervisor to be the favorite...backbiting..backstabbing..stepping on people...the whole entire dark thing--that is when I started wanting to work for myself and be my own boss.

The last straw that hurled me into researching this vision and desire was when I got sick and was not able to call in sick. I had to go to work every day...miserable...and do perform to their standards--sounding happy and upbeat...saying their stupid lines ...too much for me! Really...it was a pretty bad experience and I did not care about the great pay and benefits anymore. Besides, the benefits were only allotted out if they could "afford" to have you out sick! It still has a sore spot with me.

So, that is why I turned to affiliate marketing.
