I am in the planning stage of writing an ebook on self-development. This is my first and i am, well, not really scared, but apprehensive whether it is going taken to by my target market of people in the early 20s to the mid 30s.

Any thoughts on this will be most welcome.

If you want to be a writer, then write prolifically. Start writing, keep writing, write for yourself, write for others and write because you want to. If you want to start writing, then start like, now. I think that if you present valuable information correctly, then there will likely be a market for it.

It is always a bit scary to step out of your comfort zone and do something different. However, many people look for self improvement and self help books so why shouldn't they like yours? Feel the fear and do it anyway is my motto. You never know what will happen until you try it, so don't let this feeling stop you.

Whether your target market "takes to" your ebook or not depends on:

    - how well you've researched what they want or need
    - and whether or not you can fill that desire or need
    - and how good you are at getting your product in front of them
    - and how effectively you present your case that your ebook is what they need

By the way, neither link in your signature works.

I'm short on time (i.e. my 'ration' for online forums for today) so I'll go straight in.

    Go and ask them.

If you were going to sell to grandparents your best bet would be to ask them and not their grand kids.

You may not get the feedback you would rather have received, but you'll get feedback that you need to have...right from the people you hope to help.

It helps if you've already built an email list. Those people are the ones who said yes to receiving emails from you and are more loyal to what you have to say.

Not saying it's a requirement, but it helps to know you have a large group of people who will most likely buy/read your ebook.

I would just write it, and see what happens. Writing your first ebook is a learning experience.

search for Forum where you can find your targetd prospective. Or try to find some Facebook groups. You can try to contect some of them. Perherps they could
      - answer some of your question or
      - read your ebook and give feadback/Review

Worst-case scenario, you give it away for free as incentive to build an email list.

Well just write it and see how it's received.

If you don't want to spend a ton of time writing and it ending up being a huge flop - write bits of it on a blog and share it with others and gauge the response from there!
