Wow, what a hell of a last 4 weeks it's been for me.

Last year I moved into a big house, with a pool/hot tub and all that stuff, super stoked about how much better my life would be... when it all went down hill.

I realized I hated the house, didn't use the hot tub, and the maintenance on the pool was just driving me crazy.

So I decided to move back to my old city (Chesapeake/Virginia Beach) with my girlfriend, hoping that it was all for the better.

And so far... it's been hellish.

We had to leave the house early, were staying at my girlfriends moms house, and now we are at the new place.. but we still don't have internet.

3 weeks without an internet connection is TERRIBLE when your business/future relies on it.

And I was so busy with other things, I just gave up trying to go to Starbucks or some other place that has internet.

I gave up working, gave up worrying about my business, and didn't worry about anything for the last 3 weeks except moving, going to the gym, making my girlfriend feel comfortable, and seeing my family.

And to be honest...

It was well worth it.

See, in the big house that I had.. I NEVER saw my family, never saw my friends, and never really did anything.

It was terrible.. My expenses were so high and I wasn't even enjoying life. I wasn't getting to know new people (because there were only 4000 people in the town). And worst of all... I was miserable.

I'm back and I've got a whole new view into what direction I want to go, how much time I want to spend on this venture, and I've never felt better.

You see...

It's not about the house, cars, planes, and trains.. it's about enjoying life for what it is. And at the very foundation of it all.. friends & family are a REALLY big part.

And if you give up trying to see your family & friends because you're working too much... well then give up on working too much and pay attention to what's really important to you when you reach your goal.

Would you rather reach your goal alone? Or would you like to reach it with those that you love by your side?

Here's the thing though.. even though I have said the opposite throughout this post, never give up.

Never give up on your dreams, your goals, your family, your friends... Never give up on anything that you love.

Just give up on the things you don't love and be happy

You deserve it.

      Yep, I'm back

I took a break from a lot of things to get my mind straight, but I'm such a better state of thinking now.

I'd rather love and be loved while being successful than be success without anyone.

And better yet, I'm taking my skills and focusing on what takes the least amount of my time/energy to make the most money, so I'm actually doing better than I was a month ago when I was investing all day into this.

So true, as I've been there too...

Thought having a ton of "Stuff" that people say should make me happy would... nope.

Big ass house, just me and two boys... why? It's a bitch to maintain. I realized it was to be a big shot and impress my friends. Having a big party once a year with enough room to sleep 20 people did not justify it.

Now, I find being real and keeping life simple provides much more joy. Nothing wrong with making money, but so true it does not equal happiness.

The maintenance was the worst. And me being who I am.. I didn't want to pay someone else to do it. I'm meticulous and like things done my way because I know I won't have to go back and fix them.

It'll be how I want it.

It's kind of like how I don't want other people handling my electronics because if they break them I'll be upset with them, whilst if I handle my electronics and break them, I'm upset with myself and I'd much rather prefer that as I can easily get over it and move on.

      As for the money...

I'm still a value shopper everywhere I go. I'm not going to go to a restaurant without a coupon and I'm definitely not going to spend $20 on a burger that almost always turns out worse than the $5 burger I can get from down the street at a local restaurant.

I wish I had been the same way with the house, because I was spending upwards of $2,500/mo to maintain it and still value shopping..

But either way.. it was a great experience and helped me realize my hate for spending so much money.

  • Hey Justin! I don't know if you remember me or not. But great to hear you're doing well! You of all people deserve to be happy. I think a lot of internet marketers have faced the same situation. We get happy when we're making money and we're like kids in a candy store that have a black Amex. It's cool at first but you can end up with a major stomach ache. LOL

It's a lesson learned and now you're in the right place and state of mind! Welcome back!

I don't buy it. These days getting Internet access takes 2 seconds to sign up for and activate. Amazon.com: Verizon Wireless 4G LTE USB Modem...Amazon.com: Verizon Wireless 4G LTE USB Modem...

3G is all I've had for Internet the entire year so far. Even when I traveled to a different country, I was able to change my 3G service to their network and get back online 10min after I landed in one of the the airport's mobile stores.

So obviously it was only a choice to be offline, though it sounds like it was a good one for you.

Additinoally taking a 3 week break is definitely one of the most releasing experiences you can ever have... I can really relate to that.

Because the thing about being an internet marketer is you bring your business WITH you no matter where you go. The only time you can really disconnect is when you don't have Internet! Whereas for others they just take a vacation somewhere far from their workplace

I'm really amazed at all of the thanks that I get in my threads. You guys are all so wonderful. Just seeing them alone really gets me hyped to share even more of my experiences. I know I only share a few posts every few months, but very few go unseen and I love that about you epic Warriors

I think it's amazing how I posted something in the Warrior Forum yesterday and within minutes 2 people told me they had already seen it on Facebook Really shows me that you all care and it shows me that you aren't just skimming and are really reading what I have to say.

    So thank you.

    And now back on point..

@Cason, I agree. At a regular job you wouldn't be given these types of opportunities.. I mean 3 weeks off is a lot of time for an employer and they just don't want you to do it. But working for yourself, you can setup your life so that it works for you.. I usually take a few weeks off every 3-4 months, again unheard of at a regular job.

And they are the most enlightening moments for me because they get me away from the computer and once I get back... BOOM mindblown things happen in mere hours, rather than days.

@Plugin Profits, the biggest thing here is that I also had a lot of things I had to take care of in that time. Of course I was still able to access the internet here and there, but for what I was doing.. 8 hours a day just wasn't possible on my schedule.

Now I'm working towards a goal of working MUCH MUCH less and making MUCH MUCH more.

So it was definitely good for me Thanks for the comment!

@InternetMarketingSmarts, oddly I forget things constantly.. I already forgot what I ate for dinner last night, where I was sleeping 5 days ago, and... I just paused and forgot what else I forgot... but one thing I never forget is people. You were and still are an inspiration to me and I hope you are doing well in life man. You opened my eyes to a lot of things with your own business model. Thanks so much for the comments and remember if you ever need anything I'm here
