What are some ways to boost memory?

As we are living in an age of information overload, it seems that we are constantly being fed information left and right. The brain can only hold so much information... however, it has been said that we only use 10% of our brain. Perhaps there are ways we can utilize our brain at its full effects using brain exercises, diet, adequate sleep, supplements, vitamins, etc.

I have friends who have superb memory and can recall information effortlessly. Why is it some are blessed with an ability to recall facts, information and details while others slip out of their memory chamber and have a hard time recalling or memorizing tid bits of information?

Does anyone have any tips on how to boost memory?

    ooohhhh excellent excellent !

I want to introduce to you the power of nootropics!

Ultimately, brain food, or supplements for the brain.

    Check this website out

https://www.onnit.com/supplements/ < check out alpha brain.

This is a great entry level nootropic, after you have tried this I would recommend adding in more powerful ones!

    Hope this helps,

You should do things such as crossword puzzles and word games. They are designed to keep your mind active and prevent degradation. I know it may sound odd but it is true.

Certain foods aid in the improvement of memory and there are books written on the use of other techniques too.

it really depends on what you are trying to remember .

for me i always have whole in what i know that i am seeking to fill ..so when i get that info or info that fits for the moment..it is real easy to remember .

but i find if it is a set of instruction and a process i really don't remember it untill i do it a few times .

with the vast amount of information out there . memory is not as important ..as the ability to pick out and retain relevant need to know information for you ..and a screen for the piles of total bull crap ..that does not matter .

i find fitting information into a general world view and and observation of trends it is easier to remember ..but if your mind set is the normal human mindset of not seeing how things fit together and putting different info in their own little boxes there are lots of good methods out there.

I've had a better memory since I went vegetarian. I think it's all the fresh fruit and vegetables

I also play mental exercise games such as sudoku and crossword puzzles.

Find the time to exercise and get a lot of good sleep. When the body is deprived of sleep, the body's systems will not function effectively. Socialize and talk with other people. It's a good way to boost your memory, too.

A sharp memory is a sign of mental fitness. I can remember one of my friend who was so forgetful in nature that often used to call us in the morning to ask which is to be taught today in the school. There are some techniques of boosting your memory. Don’t try to remember the entire thing together, rather break it into parts and memorize it. Suppose remember the subject name for the day and then remember the topics to discussed. If you have difficulty in remembering a number, specially the phone numbers, break it into parts. For an event took place in the past, link something easy to remember and it will ensure you will remember it whenever you see that common thing. I use a trick while shopping for grocery items. I remember the items according to category – fruits, vegetables, cereals, spices etc. Often use popular rhymes to remember something difficult. I used to remember the popular rhyme “ Thirty days of September, April, June and November”. This way you will never forget that November has 30 days. To remember a person whom you don’t meet often is imagining his or her name written on forehead or use some unique identification of that person to remember the name.

Yes, I use meditation as well. I have for quite a few years.

But sometimes when I get into a "speeded up" mode in my life, I'll forget about the benefits of employing meditation. It can help one to re-focus.

Also, I sometimes get so relaxed that I fall asleep ..

      So that's a side benefit
