I had struggles before with self-acceptance. Accepting my mistakes and failures were really hard. I think many people are the same with me. There are also those who have the fear that they might fail or commit mistakes that's why they are afraid to do something.

I'd like to see practical exercises that can be carried out on a regular basis to boost confidence. Perhaps at the end of each chapter, there could be some sort of exercise that can be translated into real life situations, or help the reader to think differently about a certain area.

The theory is all well and good, but I'd personally think that kind of approach would lead to better long term results

It's such a massive topic too, so ideally there'd be clear organization in the book so I could find info that's relevant to me. I'm sure there's enough content for a book on each of these areas, but maybe something along the lines of a chapter on confidence in public speaking, closing deals, etc.

      Good luck with your book!

You need to define confidence and how it affects people's lives.
Provide different methods that people can use top boost their confidence, depending on their current abilities.
Provide extra resources people can refer to that will also help them.

I would include something that illustrates the link between self-esteem, self-acceptance, and self-confidence.

When my self-esteem improved, so did my confidence.

Let people know you can't please everyone all the time and sometimes can't please some people any of the time.

People have to be true to themselves.
They have to know what they really want.
Show people how to discover what it is hey really want.
Help people develop a plan of action.

I spent a great deal of my life lacking self confidence. Surprisingly, the turn around was very quick.

The most effective methods for me involve use of Neuro Linguistic Programming (NLP), along with tools for dealing with panic attacks.

I had a debilitating fear of speaking in public. Years ago, I was on stage at a convention being interviewed and I started out stuttering, then shut down completely on stage. I was shaking so much the audience of over 5,000 people could pretty clearly see it.

I also had a similar response to attractive women. I never really found out exactly what was the cause of it, but the cure for it didn't involve digging that up, fortunately, because a huge portion of my life, using the (pre-NLP) methods I was taught, involved searching for the elusive source of my fears.

Now, with NLP and tools for panic attacks, as well as some useful relationship guidance, I am much more successful as a speaker and with women.

It's funny, now that I don't need it anymore, I can see that a lot of my fears were based on being abused when I was little, which really carved deep neural pathways in my brain, all channeled to a path of failure. The bad part about that is, going unchecked, failure is pretty much the only option. The good news is to break the pattern or in this case path, is a quick process of interrupting any step toward that path, effectively shredding the bad path and forming a new one. The Brain Book goes into great deal about how that grey matter between your ears works in a biological and physical sense. Knowing how it works empowers you to take control of it.

I would want real life examples and scenarios. Study results are too far out.
