I develop a detailed sensory image of what will be the result in my life when a particular goal is accomplished. I then focus on that image throughout the day. This reminds me of they true why of my actions.

Choosing a Entrepreneurial venture that I'm passionate about.

Making money is fine however it's not enough (for me at least) to keep me going. I have to be involved in something that is much more than simply making money.

I've just finished writing my second article and I must have spent approximately 4 - 6 weeks creating it. (I'm aiming for it to be the most comprehensive and valuable article ever created on the subject.) It's been a real labour of love and I've enjoyed writing it.

I couldn't do that with something that I'm not passionate about.

I think you have to set your motivation as something that is deeply important to you - more so than money, or fame, or greed, or a kick-back lifestyle.

Things like . . . providing for the needs of your family or sharing your knowledge to help others are a couple of examples of what motivates me.

      The best to you,

      Steve

Whenever I have a task in front of me and I don't feel like doing it, I ask myself these questions:

If someone gave me a million dollars if I did this, would I do it?

If someone put a gun to my mom's head and pull the trigger if I don't do it, would I do it?

I visualize these scenarios as vividly as I can. It works for me. It may or may not work for you but try it anyway.

WOAH! dats extreme! but 1 thing i could say, sometimes when people are desperate thats the only time when they will do something they thought they wouldnt do before. Desperation drives you forward

          p/s : i think i wanna try it :p

  • It takes more than willpower. You need to have a strategy.

I recently just watched a TED Talk on Motivation.

It sums it up into three elements:

    1. Autonomy (being able to do whatever you want)
    2. Mastery (focusing on improving on whatever it is that you want)
    3. Purpose (finding a deeper meaning/cause on what you are doing)

When those three elements are present, you are the most motivated person in the world.

My motivation is my family, no doubt. They are the source of my strength and happiness so it's only fair that I give back to them by keeping them happy and secure.
