Since 2010 I've had a lot of experience with marketing... sometimes spending 16 hours a day working at it and making a good income.

I mean.. when I first started, I wanted to get away from my 3 jobs.. I wanted to find a way to enjoy the world around me. And since then I have done a crap load of stuff. Ranging from affiliate marketing, adsense sites, youtube partnerships, cpa promotions, website creation, and I'm really proud of where I've come since then..

But I started to realize that I was investing WAY too much time into this. I thought working online was all about spending more time with your friends and family and I just wasn't doing that.

I was working.. working.. working..

Well, it's a few years later and I've changed my direction entirely.

Instead of just focusing on money my new objective in life is freedom.

And it's amazing..

Think about it this way...

When you're working, you're probably only spending about 20% of that time actually doing something productive. So why not cut out the other 80% and just focus on what's working? It's changed my life and jumping from 12 hour days to 2 hour days really blows my mind.

Someone recently came to me and told me about a book called "The 4 Hour Workweek", I haven't read it yet but after this post I'm going to go ahead and get it. Working 2 hours a day is great, but working 4 hours a week seems like my next step

Just remember, you can do it! It's going to take a bit of time to train yourself to work less, but it's totally worth it!

Tim Ferris and much of what he teaches ..heavily effects my outlook . as does seth Godin.

you don't even have to read the 4h ..workweek , body or chef ..look at the many you tube videos online .

the main thing is to do highly productive activities ..and avoid work fig-it . work fig-it is like processed food ..it can look like you are doing something but it is either not real profitable or it is taking away resources from highly productive activities .

now justine ..which was harder .. cutting your work time down to one sixth the time ..or retraining your ego and mindset to accept only working 2 hours a day as enough .

i also think you may get a lot of your work done in your head while you are doing other things that touch off bits of inspiration .

now if you are doing work you love doing ..and really enjoy doing a lot ..the key thing is taking the need to make money out of the picture as fast as possible .so most of the time you do it because you can ..not because you are getting paid .

freedom is about how much time you spend getting to do stuff you like doing..and spending lest or no time having to do stuff

Appreciate your great attitude to chose freedom!

What if you actually feel free while doing highly productive work? When I do what I love and completely enjoy doing, I am actually liberating my spirit with independent will.

I am free when I am writing or singing.
I feel I am playing with the words while writing and letting the words flow rhythmically and effortlessly while singing.

You are absolutely free as you are responsible for doing everything or nothing, wasting 2 hours of time doing boring things or spending whole day accomplishing your plan. Isn't it?

Well, 2 hours of concentrated effort in activities which produce results is way better than spending 12 hours a day in scattered activities.

        Absolutely Apra!

If you dedicate your time wisely, you can achieve your goals much faster. I've been spending a lot of time with my girlfriend (soon fiance), family, and just enjoying life

I'm so much more productive when I'm actually working too, because I have a short period of time to get things done.

    Great stuff Justin!

I hear ya on the "freedom" aspect.

Sometimes we get so focused on dollar signs that we forget why we want dollar signs.

To travel more? Spend more time with family? Make money while we play video games?

Whatever it is- freedom's what we should really be shooting for. Not just money. Money's just a tool to help us obtain freedom.
