Free Targeted Traffic allows you to make money.

Basically, all you need to do is spend time generating traffic, and, when you make a sale or several sales, it is all profit!

YIPPEE !

There are plenty of ways to get website traffic.

Here are 21 ways to drive more traffic to your website.

Traffic Idea 1 - Add Fresh Content
How do you feel when you go to a blog and see the same post there that has been there for 2 weeks? Annoyed? Do you end up not visiting after a while?

I know I do, so make sure you don't do this to your readers. Update your blog content at least twice a week.

This will be easier if you write several posts ahead of time and get a backlog of post ready to roll.

Traffic Idea 2 - Article Marketing
Create content not only for your blog but also for article directories. They are free to join and you should add good quality content continuously. Follow all the rules to ensure your articles get approved.

Also, actually think about what you are saying! You read so many articles where someone has simply whacked it together in the hope to get some hits. Spend the time on quality and you will get better results.

Traffic Idea 3 - Social Networking
Facebook, MySpace, Squidoo, Twitter - there are zillions of them. Join and then participate. You need to participate to make it work.

Find others that have similar interests within these networks and you will get traffic naturally.

Traffic Idea 4 - Sell Your Site
OK, not sell - but advertise it for sale on a popular website selling site. Put a massive asking price on it and watch the people flock to check it out.

If you get a good offer take it, otherwise you will get traffic.

OK, this is not a real honest approach if you have no intention of selling, so totally up to you if you want to try this one.

Traffic Idea 5 - RSS Feeds
RSS stands for "Really Simple Syndication."

Visitors and readers of your blog can subscribe to your feed. They will get email updates when new content is posted and this is an easy way for them to read your posts.

Traffic Idea 6 - Join Forums
Visit forums, sign up and participate. You can get awesome targeted traffic from forums. If you target your niche the people at the forum are 100% focused on your niche.

You can't get a better targeted audience than that!

Traffic Idea 7 - Visit other people's blogs
Post comments on other people's blogs. Participate in the conversation and show you care. Add valuable comments and a link back to your site.

Spend the time to add really good quality comments. Don't just say - "Great Post". No one cares if you just write that. Do it properly and traffic will follow.

Traffic Idea 8 - Site Map
Create a sitemap and submit it to Google. A site map ensures Google has spidered your site correctly and it will also show any errors you may have in your site.

Traffic Idea 9 - Buy Links
Buy links to your site. Find others in your niche with popular blogs. Send them an email and say you want to exchange or buy links.

Traffic Idea 10 - Check Your Logs
Use reports and logs from your web hosting company to see where your traffic is coming from.

Analyze your visitor location and their incoming sources whether search engines or links from other sites and the keywords they used to find you. Then replicate the positive results.

Traffic Idea 11 - Good Headlines
Write good headlines/titles - good titles get more clicks. The title is the most important part of what you write.

Ever read a newspaper? The heading is everything. Spend the time writing good headings and then follow up with good content.

Traffic Idea 12 - Buy Reviews
Buy reviews about your site on other people's site. Find a blog that is in your niche and has a lot of visitors. Contact the webmaster and ask them to review your site. Most likely they will want a fee.

This could be worth a lot to you if they have a lot of traffic.

Traffic Idea 13 - Yahoo Answers
Go to Yahoo Answers and post answers to people's questions.

TIP: Only answer relevant questions correctly. Don't abuse the system. As soon as you do you will be booted off.

Only post your link when it is totally relevant to the question being asked. This makes a huge difference to whether your answer will stay on there or not.

Traffic Idea 14 - Ping your blog
Ping the blog directories and search engines. This notifies them that your blog has been updated. Do it only after you have updated your blog.

Traffic Idea 15 - Submit Videos
Submit videos to video sharing sites like YouTube and Metacafe Include a link in the description and within the actual video

Traffic Idea 16 - Create a product for Clickbank.com
Create and sell a product for Clickbank.com. Clickbank gets tons of traffic. Make sure you take advantage of this.

Traffic Idea 17 -Digg Your Pages
Indexed pages get traffic. After you add a page to your website or blog - Digg it. It will get indexed very quickly and then - you should get some traffic!

Traffic Idea 18 - Display Your Domain Name Correctly
As one name websites are limited in supply you will have to choose a longer website name. Ensure you display it so it is memorable.

For example; If you domain name is;

blackdogsandcats.com

Display it all over your website so it is easier to remember using TITLE case. So it would now look like;

BlackDogsAndCats.com

This makes it much easier for people to remember.

Traffic Idea 19 - Sign Up To My Blog Log
You will instantly get some hits as new sign ups are displayed on the front page of the site which gets massive traffic.

Then participate in your Community to get even more traffic.

Traffic Idea 20 - Add Value
Create a site with valuable content, products or services. Lots of valuable content will attract repeat visitors.

Traffic Idea 21 - Advertisements
Put a one line advertisement in your local paper. It may cost you $15 or so, but it should be well worth it if you target your audience and sell a good product.

Sean Mize summed it up that 'no traffic is free traffic' and there is always a related cost. If you have more time than money, than spend your time doing the (awesome) steps that easy cash has shared with everyone. If you're time is precious and you have cash to invest in your business, outsource that stuff and buy your traffic once you're certain you can convert and monetise it!

      Great Point.

If you are investing in others to build your traffic, make sure you get quality - not quantity.

You should make sure everything you pay for is up to standard and of a high quality.

If you spend money - and go for the cheapest outsourcing, you will get the cheapest results.

Obviously - most times it is better to do it yourself or hire a professional. A professional won't charge a few bucks - that's becasue they are professionals.

Best to shop around and get a few quotes for what ever you are doing and then factor in price, experience, abilities and time.

So, be wary with outsourcing if you can't do it yourself.

Haha nice tips! I thought I'd just see the normal ideas on this list, but #4 in particular really surprised me. I might try that. I have been thinking about selling NicheRichMarketing.com anyway. I have 60 PLR products to bundle with it and a growing list... hmmm.
