Mine is $1,000,000. That would be enough for me. What about you? What's the amount of cash you want to own one day?

$1,000,000 for me, but I'd rather have a steady income of anything > 6 figures.

$40,000,000. Enough to lose $2 million in a bad investment and sleep fine the same night.

    $0

I no desire to ever own cash.

As for cash flow (very different) my current goal is to get to $300k pre tax each year. I'm currently at $75k pre tax BTW so a ways to go.

$300k yearly would allow me to own a few exotics have a nice house and live the live I truly want. Anything about that would just be to live a better life and have money to invest as an angel investor.

about 15k to 30 k for several acers of land on the beach in a tropical country enough money to build about 10 cozy little bamboo homes ..and then enough to convert the rest of the lands into a poly culture or permaculture farm ..

so about 50-70k ..and there will always be some way to generate income .and the most important question i will have to ask on most days is which of my homes and how close to the beach do i want to sleep in tonight

I want enough to buy a season pass to the CA Disneyland (both parks) every year, whatever I want from the gift shops, and still be able to afford to sit in a cafe in the Cars or A Bug's Life sections and simply watch people go buy at least once or twice a week without worrying about whether or not I can afford it (in time or money).

I have no clue how much money that is, but whatever that comes out to, that's my current definition of success. =^-^=

Depending on all your spending habits that is likely in the $100k to $500k yearly range. It could be done for less but I am sure that isn't all you want.

          Thanks for the comment!

Mmmm well, let's see... I want to go to Japan at least once in my life... same with visiting Disney World... and maybe to buy a cintiq and a tempurpedic at some point ($2k each), but that's pretty much it.

I'm a pretty simple person. XD lol I managed to live off of $28k a year (before taxes) when I lived near San Francisco, paying for food, laundromats, and transportation, and still saved some money each month, so... I don't really spend a lot. XD

what is it you want from this ..and is there somewhere you can get close to the experience you want and maybe even make a small income .

you come of as a very gentle person. and it seams like you want to be regularly surrounded by people in environments where they are enjoying themselves and you can observe them without standing out

What do I want from it? Well... I like cartoons and fantasy-things and far-off non-existent places and the like, so Disneyland is perfect for me. XD lol

As for the cafe, well, I tend to enjoy the smaller things in life more so than the larger things. I just think it'd be nice to stop working for a minute, to sit down, have a glass of Coke, and watch. It's not that I don't want to stand out; it's just that I've spent my entire life working for one reason or another, and it'd be nice to, just for a day or 2, know that I don't HAVE to, that I can STOP and it'll be okay. Just having that one moment to relax is an amazing thing. ^_^

And when I get my company off of the ground, I might even make some money while I'm not working. XD lol

But in short, that's what I'm working for; to be able to just stop at some point and know that the world won't end:
I won't run out of money before retirement
I won't fall into debt that I'll never crawl out of
I won't have to support my mother with no funds coming in
and that I can do things just because they're fun without jeopardizing my future.

When I can be sure of these things, when I can stop, I'll actually be able to start living. And in the meantime, I just try to pull as much fun and excitement out of everyday life that I can.

I'm sure that there are a lot of people on this forum who are just like that, too. ^_^ lol

I think 100 million would be a nice number... with that kind of money you can do anything you want, even give it away to people that really need it. I think I would be handing out money left and right, lol. I think it can be done, but one step at a time... maybe in 15-20 more years, Im only 25 so...

for those who are under 35 or 40 ..and thinking about retirement .

it is the same thing as looking for a safe job..those who lived while there where nice safe jobs you could work at until you retire..are retired now ..how many people are looking at the way things are now and watching their retirement dreams evaporate ..and are now stuck working until they can't anymore .. or choosing weather to by meds or food or oil to heat the house .

now tell me how many wealthy or rich people ever really stop working.

if you take care of yourself and do work you enjoy you greatly increase the quality and length of your life ..there are thing money can not buy back .

personally i worked and messed up my physical and mental health ..but now i am aiming for what i can do that nurtures both ..i am also making choices based off wanting to live another 100+ years ..and be healthy and vital in 10 to 20 years we will see the first life extension therapies that slow or stop aging .

they will not be cheap .. but they will not be worth getting if you are not healthy .

so take retirement out of the picture . and work to be in a place where you are always of value to someone and you are able to support yourself.

there is really no enough .

if money is only as important as food ,air and water .

is there a point where you can eat enough food , drink enough water , and breath enough air to last you for 10 20 or 30 years .

I wonder why you people care so much about the money? What if you have these money, but you don't have 1 hour of spare time to do the things you love and you are always stressed out?
In my opinion best thing is to achieve the lifestyle you want to have!

Any number that keeps me out of the corporate world, or job market, for that matter.

I need only to keep the roof over my head and to feed, house, and clothe my daughter.

And I plan on doing this by teaching other people exactly how I've succeeded in business so that they can remain independent and self sufficient as well.

It's really as simple as that.

It is to have a regular income rather than a 1 shot deal. That removes the ulcers from anxiety. $10,000 a month can take care of everything plus lots and lots of extras. But it is really not a matter of how much, but how!
