Why you should Sleep In...

You are wondering: "What the hell does that mean?"

I'll tell you...

First, understand that right away you know that sleeping in is wonderful, right? Especially if you ever get the opportunity! Second, the day just seems so much easier when you've had sufficient rest.

Well Forget it...

Just like sleeping in is a waste of time for your success. So is always opting in for another secret bonus formula for how to make money online.

The variables may be entirely different, different planets let alone different languages. We all know that working hard should eventually pay off. The problem - people stop working hard and give up. Certainly, give up if you're not enjoying yourself. And if the bigger picture doesn't designate with your current situation.

But know this. You are responsible for your own success!

You see, I myself am trying to engrave this into my mentality, physiology, habits, opinion, and bare essential functionality for living everyday.

I have been riding myself of that horrible thing called "Blueprint Mentality" and you should too!

There's only so much time to get things done and sleeping in and opting in are not either of the outcomes you should be experiencing.

Why?... Because opting in gives you countless hours of B.S to consumer instead of doing what should be done PRODUCING

How can you manage a company, run a company, start a company, if you cannot even control your daily habits - Sleeping In...?

You tell me....

Thanks for reading

"Early to bed and early to rise makes a person healthy, wealthy and wise". It goes without saying that anyone wanting success and happiness will have to be organized and willing to pay the price for those goals unless your success and happiness is just sleeping in each day. Ha! Ha! Most of us want more!!!

  • Your message is starkly true. Like a surgeon's scalpel those descriptions of "sleeping in" and pampering one's self again are hauntingly true. Either we further our cause, our business every day in some way, (large or small) or we regress and don't do as we say we want.

There is absolutely nothing wrong with sleeping in.

There are good days (where your energy is up) and bad days (when your energy is down).

If you need to sleep in, do it. It will allow you to build up your energy and 'focus' it on things that actually can move you forward.

Most people in this industry have bought into the idea that this thing we call success is hard to get and something you need to work very hard for.

And that is why most people get caught up wasting time on doing 20 different things that don't need to be done.

Concentrate on the 5% of activities that get you results and...

Sleep in if you need to!

Over and beyond the good points you have contributed regarding sleeping in, I also know of many more.

What we wanted to see was the effect switching from six-and-a-half hours to seven-and-a-half hours, or vice versa, would have on our volunteers.

Computer tests revealed that most of them struggled with mental agility tasks when they had less sleep, but the most interesting results came from the blood tests that were run.

Dr Simon Archer and his team at Surrey University were particularly interested in looking at the genes that were switched on or off in our volunteers by changes in the amount that we had made them sleep.

"We found that overall there were around 500 genes that were affected," Archer explained. "Some which were going up, and some which were going down."

What they discovered is that when the volunteers cut back from seven-and-a-half to six-and-a-half hours' sleep a night, genes that are associated with processes like inflammation, immune response and response to stress became more active. The team also saw increases in the activity of genes associated with diabetes and risk of cancer. The reverse happened when the volunteers added an hour of sleep.
Source: How much can an extra hour's sleep change you?

I don't know about you all, but as for me, I'm sleeping in!

What good is success if you're too stressed and/or too sick to enjoy it?

Hey if you want to sleep in, sleep in. It's one of the perks of being a IM.

I sleep in (get up from 8:30 - 10:30) and take an afternoon nap. : )

i get 4 hours of sleep or so a night ..sometimes i need to push it out to 6

anyway i am 35 ..i am going to live another 100-200 years barring traumatic events so.
i will provide my body with the rest it desires every day ..

in any case if i get where i want to be in the next few months i will be getting some chickens and goats and i will have a real beautiful woman to wake up next to ..who has the skills i don't have to run a business ..so i will have make sure to pamper her.. for maximum productivity.

i have never been productive mentally or physically in the mornings ..unless of course i work through the night into the morning .

the famous thing about franklin and his early to bed line ..is that worked in the colonies ..but if he didn't know how to party through the night with the people of influence in France..we may have had a different story about the american revolution.

Wow, awesome insight into different ideas of what sleeping in actually means and why or why you shouldn't do it.

First of all I definitely think if you're staying awake all night, working away on your business. Then sure you may have earned an appointment session to recharge yourself.

However, I am namely referring to PRODUCTIVITY. The importance of getting done what you say you will and making it happen.

Instead of sleeping in thinking "It's ok, i'll just sleep for ten more minutes" and three hours goes by.

This goes a long the same principle for people who constantly by courses and ebooks looking for their magical blueprint. Instead of reading meaningful work by famous authors and learning principles.

If you're not learning principles, then you're probably not learning anything and should be sleeping in lol.

I think the idea here is going a bit astray from its original intent.

The underline message here is "How bad do you want your success".

I have countless friends both current and past, who have been in the high moments of their success. Where opportunities are nearly impossible to avoid. It's that moment when the ball really starts to roll and things start to happen; magic!

You will not understand this until you become overwhelmed with joy.

It's that mentality to justify sleeping-in that I think destroys your chances of success.

"Sleep... Sleep, sleep is for those people who are broke".

The question is not whether you should sleep or not, it's a metaphor; I have too much passion to give to the world, I cannot sleep. If you're missing the point, then you need to experience it for yourself to truly comprehend.

It's somewhere a long the lines of how badly you want your success. How incredibly passionate you are to deliver your message, to fill the void, to live for your cause.

Personally, it only dawned on me as of recent, and I've been sleeping less and less because I enjoy living life to the fullest. There is so much to share and give I don't have time to sleep!

      Fair enough. Good point Startingstartup.

      I know what you mean.

Usually on the weekend I visit my family and often can't wait for it to be Monday again so I can start working. I do enjoy my sleep though and I think it makes me more productive/happier/etc.

However like Rory mentioned people think that you have to work "really hard" and make lots of sacrifices to be successful at IM.

My opinion is that IM is relatively simple and while you have to do some work (depends on your definition of "hard") it can be a process that you mostly enjoy.

For new people reading I would recommended starting from where they are. Just do a little bit of work every day (whatever you can manage at the moment) and it will soon accumulate and you can condition/train yourself to work more and more. : )

    yeah starting ,

the issue though is knowing when you are the most productive and putting the most productive activities in that time slot..

everyone is different with a different biology passes on from their parents and those cultures ..

look around at the health of people in the us and the healthies people have learned their rhythm and worked with it .

sleeping in is a bad practice if you push into or to close to your productive times..because your body expects that extra hour or two the next day ..

but if your most productive times are before you go to bed ..and you work untill you are spent of mental energy ..and you wake up and move around and get exercise in the .morning ..

the most productive time ..is generally the time with the least interruptions

      I gotcha Startingstartup.

Your point is that you have to get up and make things happen for yourself, not sleep your life away and expect things to happen on their own.

I think the best way to ensure success is to do everything in moderation. Too much of a good thing can kill as well as too much of a bad thing.

Striving for the perfect balance that enables us to be the most productive, happy and healthy should always be a lifetime goal because life is too short to be anything less than happy.

        Nicely said Terra. : )

I think too much work can be as bad as not enough. I've read lots and lots of quotations on “Success” and I have to say that my favourite one (at the moment) would have to be:

“A man is a success if he gets up in the morning and gets to bed at night, and in between he does what he wants to do.”¾ Bob Dylan

Terra, the irony is in this statement, if you look closely. There is no perfect balance...

It's true: The reason people go around in circles looking for their magic formula is because they're confused, the misinformation out there is plentiful.

If you had perfect balance in your schedule wouldn't you be as bored as the security guard watching fresh paint dry? The answer is yes.

The interpretation is what confuses people and in reality, if you want the many adjectives that go a long with your ideal life, then you need to earn them. It's all or nothing in reality and certainly sleeping in gains you no ground. Trying to justify how much, when to, how to, why to, and acceptable clauses only begets more confusion to the original point.

Do you want it? Do you want it bad enough? End of story...

I'm sorry, but we're going to have to agree to disagree here.

I have found the perfect balance for my life. I merely listen to what my body, mind and spirit are telling me. True, it needs to be adjusted; sometimes weekly, sometimes monthly and even sometimes on a daily basis according to life circumstances, but I have indeed found a perfect balance for me, my goals, my life.

It is with the utmost of sincerity when I say, I hope you find the perfect balance for you and your life very soon. But if you think the perfect balance is as exciting as watching paint dry, then I'm afraid you'll never achieve it.

    now.

it is quite shocking how fast a preventable illness can hit someone and chew through their wealth ..look at the increasing number of football player who made a lot of money.. but now are struggling to function day to day .

sustainability is the buzzword of the day...the issue is how long can you do what you are doing without adverse health or social fallout .

now i can see putting 12-20 hour days into something ig you are building it and can eventually work it for less time . but if you are working on something that will require 12 hour day or more for a very long period of time.. how free are you ..and if you are wearing away your health .

granted i am currently learning and studying and designing the business i want and i expect to put a lot of time into it every day for a few years .

but that is building the structure and getting it going ..so that it can be run for a hundred years with much less effort .

i am not looking to build a business to get rich then do what i want to do with my life ..i am looking to make a business out of much of what i want to do .

I always find that waking up early makes me more motivated because I look ahead to my day and realize that there is so much time to effectively get everything done that I need to. I can blog, eat healthy, brainstorm and network with like minded people. Getting my message out as much in one day is what is important to me. Waking up early is essential to helping others and yourself achieve success.

Exactly, if you see the magic in having your to-do list done by 10am or 12pm. That feeling of accomplishment only further fuels your net results; you have the rest of the day to mastermind. I cannot stand to feel behind, ever again. I love tackling the less appealing task so I have the rest of the day to create and produce. This feeling alone will supplement the lack of energy you think you may not have because you haven't had your 9 hours of sleep.

Personally a set schedule to sleep is very important to me. I feel much better with a good nigh sleep on schedule then if I don't. It helps to shape my day and provide a bit of order.

Definitely having a set schedule works in your favourite, in fact to your advantage. The worst is not having enough tasks to keep you busy, that's when your mind starts to wander and you become a lost puppy. Keeping your mind on getting busy to build your business. This will also help provide you the reasoning not to sleep 14 hours a day or watch endless episodes of shows lol.
