What is Your WHY ? How Bad Do You Want Success?

Why are you trying to make money online?

Why are you doing what you are doing?

How bad do you want to be successful?

Do you have a big enough reason to succeed?

I'd like to hear peoples reasons for trying to succeed in this business.

All the Best,

    Good video.

I ended up being very successful in online but only after I had identified, very clearly, and written down my 'Why' My emotional 'Why' Before that I struggled for about 4 months.

In the coaching I do I regularly find that identifying the emotional why hasn't been done - or if an attempt has been made it hasn't been done correctly.

It's about what you want, at a visceral level. It's what will compel you to say "I will until" and leave you internally committed and taking consistent action.

Now you have to bring a bit of logic into it in terms of carrying out your due diligence on the company/opportunity/offers/products whatever but, having made a decision you need to commit until you win.

If no-one has shown you how to clearly find your emotional why look at this post:

This is a great video. Complacency makes all "whys" ineffective. There has to be a passion to my why and when there is there's no stopping me.

Every time I see this video I feel the blood rushing through my veins. If you put this much motivation and drive into anything you do, there's no way you can't succeed.

If only it was that simple but here's the problem. No matter how good watching a video (or attending a seminar etc) is and getting fired up it's external motivation - and external motivation is temporary. It soon washes away. You know it don't you? Because you've experienced it somewhere down the line.

The way to get lasting motivation, motivation that continues to propel you towards a goal over time is through internal motivation, the internal desire most people have inside them but have never identified and visualized clearly and with emotion.

It's called identifying your emotional 'Why' and it was this that turned my life and my fortunes around. But the problem is that few people know how to do it - or are too idle minded to do it properly.

I wonder how many people read my previous post, read up on how to do it and then went on to write the results down?

      Did you?

Very good stuff guys, I like reading the responses. Keep it up

    My WHY's are BIG...

I remember always struggling and never having any money. I remember people being able to travel and do fun things because of their mommy and daddy.. I couldn't I had to earn my money and think outside the box because --

I was SICK and TIRED of it.

I remember working at slave wage job getting bossed around getting told what I can and cant do --

I WAS FED UP with it and knew I deserved more !

I hated attending college or university to me it was a big waste of money and the traditional route doesn't get you very far these days.

And I DAMN SURE wasn't going to live off of the government!

I knew I wanted FREEDOM and the ability to do what I want when I want.
I knew deep down that working at some JOB til I was 65 wasn't my true potential!

Ever since I was younger I knew the traditional path wasn't for me.
Everyday I worked hard, focused, did whatever it took to find the alternative.

I would read everyday, I would watch videos, I would stay up til 5am if I had to.

I knew I was determined to live a better life some day and I wouldn't ever quit.

Deep down I have a burning drive to be successful, many people doubted me, and didn't believe in me growing up and I wasn't given a lot of great opportunities many people had.

But deep down I didn't care what anybody thought, because I believe in me !

So I treat my business seriously and take pride everyday in my work.

I didn't care if it took 1 year or 10 years, I knew my dream above all else was worth fighting for!

Giving back to the people that were always there for me is important is worth fighting for!

Helping others achieve success , is worth fighting for !

I don't want to live some average life, I want to live a great life.

Nothing comes easy or gets handed to us, you must EARN IT.

Your dream can be a reality if you start taking action and treating your business serious and believe!

    I wish everyone ultimate success,

    Matt

Perhaps the biggest reason why I chose information marketing is that I would love to impact as many lives as I can on this planet in a very positive way.

For me it is enjoyable to help as many people as possible change their lives dramatically. Resurrecting dead dreams, businesses, being involved in come backs, whooooo!

I suppose one of the reasons I have not made a ton of money with IM is because I don't HAVE to. I want to so that I can do nice things for my girlfriend and myself but when you don't need an income source it's hard to motivate yourself to do what it takes to get one.

My reasons are similar to the reasons why Steve Jobs started Apple. I knew from a young age that I didn't just want to run a business that was another run-of-the-mill business like so many entrepreneurs run just to generate income and take care of myself.

I always knew that I wanted my life to mean something, and to leave a valuable impact on the world where people would not only benefit from the work I was doing, but the work I was doing would also push the human race forward and really contribute something valuable to the world that really made an impact and left a difference, and if I wasn't able to do that, and create something incredibly valuable for myself as well as others, I decided very early on that success (from a financial standpoint alone) wouldn't be worth having.

    Nice 5 minute video!!

Having a reason to succeed online is only one part of being successful.

Family is the big one for me.
Making a living online without sacrificing the time you spend with your family is priceless.
The money will come once you realise it's not all about money. Yeah sure having money is great or not having to worry about it is even better, but once you start giving more and helping more, good things start to happen.

What is your why? Maslows hierarchy gives us an indication of this. Once a persons basics needs are met like food, clothing, shelter and relationship he goes on to the next level that is doing something with passion and vision. without satisfying the basic needs it is very hard to get to the passion and find out the why? Most of us are stuck running around trying toget basic needs met. Well if do not meet them we have to do some face melting with the boss or your superior there comes the conflict and frustration.

If that is being worked out then money does not become an issue now we move on to the next level of passion. Here you stay until you master your skills after that you move to your next skill level finally there comes a point of self mastery and self awarness. This is the individual who is totally transformed.

He or she will not care about what others think of them. This is the highest level of transformation. When this level is reached one reaches nirvana. A buddha stage. Where nothing matters. good or bad passes by so easily. Talking about it is one thing but in reality can we achieve this?

Yes we can. I think for me it is still in the first step . My goal is money should not be an issue to do the things I want to do in life.

So in summary I am still in the basic level. I hope one day sooner this day will be met and move on to the next level and then the next and finally achieve self master. Know thyself.

What is my why? To attain nirvana. To experience the unbiased state of happiness. At this stage nothing matters. I do not mean recklessness or laziness. I mean totally happiness within us no matter what.

I love being reminded of this question!

I have the following quote posted on the wall in my office:

"If you're willing to do for a year what others won't, you can spend a lifetime doing what others can't."

It reminds me that I am getting to my dream life, one step at a time.

    this is my WHY

    - freedom to be an entrepreneur to live anywhere and work from no where.

    this bad,

    - willing to spend hours and hours to learn and keep learning
    - willing to stay awake till wee hours to complete what needs to be done
    - willing to spend weekends and public holiday to spend the whole darn day to focus on Internet and it's magic
    - willing to keep pushing no MATTER how hopeless it looks like, right now! that no matter how bad it gets or become, i ain't giving up until i make it.

I think this is probably the number one question that has to be clear before real progress can happen.

Sure, you can have successes and make moves without understanding why. Most people do a lot of things in their life, not because they actually know WHY, but because they are told. Theyre functioning off of someone elses Why... which is pretty dangerous when you think of it...

If you're not clear on WHY, its like building a castle on sand. Eventually, when it gets tough, when you don't "Feel like it", its all going to crumble. It will fall.

So sometimes when I get amped up, and really motivated, and ready to go... I take that energy and put it toward reminding myself WHY. however I can. Post-it notes, audio recording I make, notes, posters, vision board, whatever.

But my why is simple: Because I deserve it. I'm worthy of it, and there are millions and millions of people out there living the lives they wan't to lead. They're no smarter than I am. That's why.

Wow!!!! My goal is the following
I am earning £8,000 + per month from my online business because I refuse to spend the rest of my adult life working for someone else and making them rich while I live a below average life until I die.

I will be able to live freely and help many people and delve into different projects with this money. My future family will have a good life and a solid up bringing.

Thanks for posting the inspirational video. I agree it is real important knowing your why. When you don't know your why and don't commit, it gets real difficult to carry on when the setbacks happen. It makes it so much easier to carry on.
And you also need the patience to see it through to the end.

I remember when I made this thread last year, such good answers from everybody.

If your why is bigger than your obstacles you won't let anything get in your way.

If you really want success bad enough you will find a way, the key is to never give up!
