I have the mindset... But not the patience!

Hey Warriors,

I just wanted to throw this post out there...

I feel like I have the right mindset and know what it takes to be successful online.

I've been successful in the past but find myself struggling for a few different reasons...

1. I don't have much money
2. I don't seem to have much patience any more

I've been doing this stuff for 10 years now...

My first site was successful and I sold it in 2008, probably not the best decision I ever made...

Since then I've been trying all kinds of things and obviously I've learned a lot but the money still isn't rolling in like I'd like it to...

I've made so many mistakes online and most of it has been because of my mindset or focusing on the wrong stuff, getting distracted, starting new projects, etc.

How are you supposed to be patient and stay focused when you have little money and feel like everyone is telling you to "get a job!"?

I just keep trucking along and feel like I'm finally on the right track again but why does it have to take so long?

It sucks that we have to rely on Google and YouTube (for the most part) for customers and traffic...

I wish we could find a different way...

Band together somehow and really do something HUGE...

So we don't have to rely on the big G for everything...

are there skills you have learned in the last ten years that you could mold into a job ..

you probably won't find full time work.. instead of looking for jobs available..decide what you can do with your skills for a company for say 10 hours a week ..set your salary ..

if there is one good thing about the obamacare mess ..insurance is no longer tied to a job so you don't ever have to get stuck somewhere to avoid losing your health coverage

Patience is part of the right mindset. You have been successful before so surely you have skills to help you achieve success again. If you truly believe you don't have the patience, maybe it is time to get a j.o.b.

the right mindset includes being in charge of what you do to make money ..and if you keep your self in position to move when your skills are not needed anymore ..you are much better off .

We all get frustrated sometimes. Don't sweat it...the fact you are aware that it is a negative trait and that you need to make a change is the first step.

Maybe it time to take a few days away from the computer. Take a drive or spend time with the kids in your family. Kids see the world simply. Seeing the world through their eyes can be a reality check sometimes and makes you realize that life doesn't have to be so hard.

I hope you can work through these challenging times and the Mind Warriors community is always here to help.

if you are going to work for somone though..try to find someone who is getting rich ..

most jobs suck because even the guy.girl you work for isn't getting rich off what you do ..that sure will not help your mindset ..

  • That was quite a combination of definite statements about life and how it would be so much better if certain things were somewhat different than the way they are now.

Your thread resonates with me and I feel much of the things you have been feeling over the past ten years. Progress does seem very slow at so many places along the way.

    But, . . .good luck.

It sounds like you know why mistakes were made, and that you learned from them. If that's the case, just remember that while the number may be high, there is a finite amount of mistakes that you can make, so you can count each "mistake" or "failure" as 1 more completed step towards your personal success!

Accept that normal people don't understand real-world marketing, much less internet marketing, and don't talk to them about it if they are negative or not supportive. I know that it's hard, but it's in your best interest to avoid needless disappointment. Besides, you have an entire forum of people from all over the world who understand you and want to help you, right here! Bond with the people in your life over different subjects.

Most big companies/brands are complete and total "failures" at everything that they do for at least 10 years before they hit it big. It sounds to me like you're just about due. ^_~*

There are lots of non-Google or Youtube-related ways to get traffic. Facebook is a HUGE one, as well as Pintrest, and if nothing else, there's an entire offline world that needs to be brought online; that alone covers more people and projects than 1 person could hope to COMPREHEND in their entire lifetime!

Or in short, where there's a will, there's a way. Look for alternative methods and you'll find them; they exist all around you. ^_^

    I hope that this helped!

How can you have the mindset without the patience?

Surely no patience = no mindset?

Who's relying on that? there are people on this forum making 6 figures per year that don't even have a website... Like my mothers company that I help BUILD from the ground up.

You are restricting yourself from doing better if you're telling yourself that you have to rely on google and youtube.

And you shouldn't be "trucking along" -- If this is what you want, then put the dam pedal to the medal.

A closed mouth don't get fed.

There are NO SECRETS. Sure, they're may be some new methods that pop up every once and while but business is business and every business has the same infrastructure... NO MATTER THE NICHE.

Find what motivates you and do it every day. My desk is RIDDLED with motivation quotes that get me pumped every time I sit down at the desk.

You can do it man. Trust me.

The down fall to being "internet marketers" is we tend to keep ourselves restricted ONLY to the internet. There are thousands of different industries to go after that make serious money both online and offline.

Just check out some posts in the Offline thread. GREAT stuff there and tons of ideas and new markets to go after.

P.S. My mother owns and operates a Judgment Recovery company. She's my best client -- The secret to having an A$$ kicking business is to find a need first that isn't being met (or poorly met) and fulfill it.
