I'm new here could use advice

As my title say's I'm new here, and was wondering if people would steer me in the right direction. I'm not looking for quick fixes, and am willing to learn I just don't know where to start, so any help at all would be appreciated.

    Hi Deemzy,

I am unsure why you posted this in the mind warriors section! Do you mean you are new to IM? Or self development?

Welcome to WF, looking forward to reading your posts.

You have not gotten much of a response to your post so far because you haven't asked anything specific - it's like going to an airport and going to the counter and saying "Can you help me get on a flight to anywhere?"

So assuming you are serious, without a specific question,
here's my best advice to you:

Well i started off on the wrong foot, i'm looking for advice on where to start looking at tip's and trick's about making money online. Now when i say tip's and trick's i don't mean, get rich quick idea's,easy route, or even fast track options i would like pointing in the general direction of some useful posts.

And i posted here, because it was the only section of the forum that looked like it applied to me. "Mind Warriors - Success, Power, SELF-IMPROVEMENT (305 Viewing)
This forum is dedicated to discussion on all topics related to self-improvement. This most certainly fits into a money-making forum because power, energy and creativity translates into being able to make more money."

Sorry if that sounded smarmy, i do appreciate any replies i get. thank's matthew for the pointer's il be sure to use them next time.

Deemzy, there are MANY ways to make money online. Again, it's like you're asking, "Can you help me buy a car?" Well we don't know your budget, your family size, your need for speed or lack thereof, and many other variables.

Read the forums for now. Start picking up the differences in ways you can make money online. See who you believe and who you like to follow. DON'T BUY ANYTHING YET. Do not get hooked into Shiny Object Syndrome. There is no magic button, no unicorn of easiness. Success comes from good ideas, persistence, and hard work. Anyone trying to tell you that you'll make tons of money from three clicks is a liar.

It's going to take awhile for you to figure out what direction you want to go in. That's normal. Just don't get suckered by the "you can make $1000 in 5 seconds with this sneaky technique!" crowd.

Start by looking at the forums. You can see people making money by PPC, Facebook, driving traffic to other people's products as an affiliate, selling their own product, making videos, writing copy and more more more more more.

Which appeals to you? It's going to take some time for you to build the knowledge and get going. Most people never make a dime. They jump from shiny thing to shiny thing, when actually you can make money at almost anything if you stick with it long enough to figure it out. This place is like a university, and it's going to take a couple of years for you to become 'good'. Regardless of what any WSO copy says.

Most people are unwilling to make that commitment. Can you make money in a few days or weeks? Absolutely. But you are going to have to learn something about promotion, affiliate marketing, setting up sales pages, driving traffic and so on to do it.

Jason is giving you great advice - don't buy anything. Being overwhelmed is a big problem, though - you do need to focus as soon as possible. One way you could do that would be to create your own simple product, such as a "report" on "How to do xyz" - something that you know how to do and enjoy doing, not a 'make money' thing.

The advantage of making your own product to start with is that you learn all the other things as part of the process, but you are doing it in a very focused way, with an end result in mind - having a product live and for sale on the web. I first did this many years ago with a how-to-play-the-harmonica product.

Do it as a learning exercise that might bring in some money, that way you won't get bogged down with 'analyzing the market' and 'choosing the best niche' or anything like that.

If you want to see examples of people who have actually done this and aren't pitching something at you, then join the War Room.
