Tony Robbins 'Unlimited Power' and 'Awaken the giant within'.

Hi

I recently purchased Tony Robbins books titled 'unlimited power'' AND 'Awaken the giant within'.

I was just wondering if it is better to read one fully before starting reading the other. So it be much appreciated if warriors in particular those who have read both books advise as to which one of the two books be read first Or is it the case that it does not really matter which one should be read first.

    I have not read those book but my opinion is to always read books in their published ordered. The author will bring new teachings into his newest works and will touch back on past works. If you read the in published order you seldom go wrong.

    I really think it depends on what you're trying to get out of reading. If you have an objective in mind then let that guide you to what to read first or if you should start with a chapter other than 1. If you're reading to apply principles, I suggest reading what is most pertinent to your objective and master it. Not just read then go on to the next because it is far too easy to forget the last thing you read. Enjoy!

    Agreed with Aaron - Read books in 'publish order'. You can also read the contents/blurb and see what interest you most. Either way, you should learn a lot!

    I first read 'Unlimited' Power back in 94. Then I listened to an audio version of 'Awaken the Giant'. I think that's the published order

      I'd definitely start with UP. both are really good, and tony is a good coach who really understand the value of peak performance states and getting into action. Don't think you can go wrong here!

    See if you can find an eBay sale for "Get The Edge". Listening to Tony as opposed to reading Tony is like chalk and cheese. It's not sold anymore but I listen to him non stop during long drives around Australia. Being out on the open road (driving a cool hot rod) listening to Tony "straightening me out" changed me in many ways. Highly recommended. Failing that - do as Aaron suggests.

    Top down is not a good idea in Australia for the most part (tops off is another matter all together). Having someone else to discuss Robbo's teaching with would be awesome. In fact you just gave me an idea...thanks.

    AFAIK, Get the Edge is part of his Ultimate Edge program only, which I bought...and love. Useful as hell, and the journal exercises actually make you uncomfortable. It's work

      planning + action = results
      tracking/analysing + reframing planning + action = better results

    It is a book that you can go back to time and again as you progress on your own personal development journey.

    Tony Robbins has written several books and this abrdigement of Awaken the Giant is by far the best one. “In fact, if you read this one you wouldn’t need to read any of his others.” Was what was told to me several years ago when I first read it. Not that you wouldn’t want too read his other works, it’s just that he wrote this one as a be all, end all – simple and direct. Let me explain. People were complaining that his books were far too long – 1200 pages in some cases. Not that they aren’t valuable and enjoyable to read – mind you. It’s just that people don’t have the time to read that much. So he gathered his works together and came up with this concise 100 page volume that contains all of his important points, the essence of all of his books. I first read it years ago and then promptly lost the link to it. I’ve been searching for it ever since and I believe this is it.

    How is that?

      Interesting you say that because in his interview with frank kern and john reese he basically said the holy grail was these four things: certainty, potential, massive action, great results.

      Then again he also mentioned that out of all the people in the world he met and studied the one thing that separates the successful without a shadow of a doubt is HUNGER,(he was being interviewed by Jay Abraham when he said it).

    I recently received an email informing me of a new interactive version of his Ultimate Edge stuff Ultimate Edge Interactive | Tony Robbins

    For anyone who has not read, listened or used the content previously I think this would be an excellent & very rewarding investment, both personally and professionally.

    I would read one book at a time.

    Awaken the giant within came after the UNLIMITED POWER book. So I would read UNLIMITED POWER first.

    Funny thing is that I read "Awaken the giant within" a few years ago and just recently got his UNLIMITED POWER which I never read so I am breaking the rules.
