How has your mindset affected your business?

Mindset is without a doubt THE biggest factor when it comes to our success. The popular saying goes "If you don't go within, you will go without". What's your experience with your mindset? Do you believe or agree that it's the determining factor to your success and lifestyle right now?

    Mindset is almost everything.

You can drive or be driven.
You can ride or be riden.
You can take or be taken.
You can teach or be taught.

Success can be in your mind.
However, it is action that brings success into your life.

For me mindset was and is everything. I agree with you, just without the "almost" part. I believe this reality is a reflection of your inner thoughts, mainly your subconscious and what's programmed deep into you.

If you can somehow rewire that so that everything is geared toward attaining your goals, I don't see how you can fail.

I am in no way disagreeing with you. I agree totally. The 'outside' world is a reflection of your 'inside' world. For me the rewiring process is taking action. Doing what your mind says you cant, doing what your mind says you wont, expanding what your mind says you can.

Let me expand on this a bit. The rewiring bit has a lot to do with action, with actually doing something, yes.

I'll use myself as an example here (it's just easier this way), i spend about 2 - 3 hours daily minimum listening to recordings of positive afformations (not affirmations, mind you ).

I've done the same routine for work for quite a while now and for me at the very least just doing the work was not enough.

When i compare my life before i listened to my positive thoughts taking action, even on productive tasks, would sometimes work out and sometimes it wouldn't. After doing the consciousness flood (listening to the afformations, talking about them, feeling emotionally charged from them) my actions simply yielded way more than simply taking action alone.

For some just doing without the mindset may actually work, I don't know. But in my case it was almost entirely the shift in mindset that paid off in leaps and bounds. I don't even fully understand why it helps so much, but it does lol

            I AGREE HOLE-HARTEDLY. (whole heartedly)

I know this happened to me when I did something like this. I don't know anything about "Afformations" but, even without them, I used a different tactic that I personally had, trains of thought and derailing one train and permitting and attracting a different train instead.

The derailed train was the "Can't, Won't and WILL NOT Happen" train and the promoted train was the "Can and Will Happen" train. I did not use affirmations, or as this one says, afformations.

I use both the software and audio so the afformations are forced at me through my eyes and ears.

I even hired a voice actor to say the questions over a 15 minute sessions so i could listen and re-listen each day over and over.

It's caused a massive shift in my life outlook since your brain is forced to search for a positive answer to the question you're asking. It's a crazy powerful process, I really can't do justice explaining here lol

Yea, ya, it's ole' me again. hrm...

I am totally luvvin this thread to death. I remember my outside world was a craphole downtown area not too far from a crappy neighborhood. Do you see why my mindset was in the toilet for YEARS before about 2 years ago?

I began to see rays of new light busting through the clouds for a year or so before I moved here. Once I was evicted from that, now known as Hell Apartments, or tenement, I thought,"Hrm, maybe THIS is the chance to land somewhere classy for a change and not another hellhole." I felt terrible about the eviction alone, not knowing where I would end up. Law of attraction AND positive thinking blended together like good bud worked like a miracle from Heaven alone "wound me up" into a beauty of an apartment. This could never be expected at Man's level of thought.

mindset change has completely revamped my business so definitely change of mindset leads to success. But i've seen people who put too much emphasis on changing mindset but got involved with the intricacies of mindset instead of taking action after changing their mindset. I hope you got my point else change your mindset then!

Mindset is the precursor to anything.

I've found that the difference between a 6-figure income and a 7-figure income is really bordering on mindset. The simple act of generating premium sales, for example. Or continuity. Or doing high-ticket sales.

    It's all about self-confidence, creativity and open-mindedness.

Mindset is only half the equation. I have met many people in the New Age arena that are so into the law of attraction they don’t even have to bother taking action. And so they don’t achieve any real lasting success at all. Without smart, healthy, appropriate action focused with determination to get what you want you simply float around wondering where your next meal is going to come from in a land of foo-foo, woo-woo. Both mindset and action go hand in hand to achieve success.

In fact mindset is not even the major portion here as the op implies. Mindset is the precursor as James mentioned. Or a starting point. Meaning that it is only a small portion done at the beginning. Or it is the foundation upon which a tremendous building can sit stabilized upon. The building (work, action) is by far the vast majority of success. Mindset without a doable plan simply just leaves you on the starting line wondering why the other racers started moving when there was a loud bang.

Mindset is far from the biggest factor. I have seen far too many people achieve success in spite of their mindset. How many times do we see people making money on Wall Street that live in stress, turmoil, and fear. A complete wrong mindset that produces billions of dollars. Too bad they can’t enjoy it. How about Hollywood? Politicians? So many unhealthy people making tons of money in spite of their mindset. Mindset is to help you stay healthy and enjoy success. Mindset is simply not needed to make money.

Here is an interesting enjoyable read on it from the NY Times. Hope you enjoy it as well as I did. http://www.nytimes.com/2014/01/19/op..._20140119&_r=2
IN fact, somebody ought to get this as a niche to help these guys out. Tons of money to be made. I love this line he says after he walked away, “money, and if I needed to make more, I could.”

What good is it if you only have your inner world set in order without the outer world to enjoy it? You are happy and broke.

Damn rights partner! Mindset can really do things for you if the "mindset tool" is handled the correct way. You dampen things with the "Can't, Won't and Will Not Happen" train of thought and increase good events with a "Can, and Will Happen" train of thought.

Everyone (including me) here at this forum sure knows how important 'mindset' is. Think back all of you, how long did it take you to finally get started in anything?

    Did you procrastinate?

How many times have you thought of throwing your laptop through the window and quitting?

How many times have you quit?

See, everything that you and I have ever done was based on how we saw ourselves, the world and everyone else.

But little by little, we keep correcting, we keep learning until we end up seeing things differently.

The REAL Miracle is just a 'shift' in perception.

When we look at things differently, they change including circumstances.

Mindset is everything. If you know what you're supposed to be doing but you're not, it's probably mindset. In other words you don't feel safe. Building a business is inherently vulnerable. According to Maslow's hierarchy of human needs, we need to get our need for security met before we can strive towards self actualization. So if you don't feel safe stepping outside your "comfort zone" to grow a biz, the paradox is you won't be able to meet your financial needs which threatens your security. It's a vicious cycle.

Yes, that is quite interesting. Maslow has said that only 1% of the adult population will reach self-actualization = reach their full potential in different areas of life. I think success and self-actualization both start from the right Mindset.

      Mindset -> Thoughts -> Actions -> Results -> Success -> Self-actualization?

What do you think? Is there a "right" mindset for each area of life (for example, business)?

i get picky ..mindset ..it like being and entrapenur ..or sustainiblity ..or other words ..

changing your mindset is important..but then you can read 100 book on it and get what that change is ..

now as someone with bi polar dis order and high functioning autism ..

several key shift in my mindset have helped . besides seeing "normal" people as pretty disfunctional.

1st not only can i change the beliefs i have in my head i do not need to find the perfect new belief just one that works better.

2 from a mostly static "i have got all these issues so im ^^^^ed ..to a growth oriented progress aware mindset " noticing improvement each time i do things "

3 the shift from most of my attention being focused on the mental and emotional torture i have gone through the last 15 years ..and theresultin toll it took on my physical body ..with the hoplessness that came,,to focusing much more on what i want in my future and what a better future for me is . shifting it out of the realms of just dreaming .

4 shutting down negative patterns of self talk as well as breaking oh of the need to make excuses ..when you stop abusing yourself and bullshitting yourself and everyone else ..there is a massive increase in mental and physical health that result over time .
