Where is your focus at?

Think of your mind as a laser beam. If you were to spread a beam of laser it would be less focused than if you were to focus it onto a point. That's exactly how your mind works. If you have just one major focus in life you will be able to concentrate on it more as opposed to having many different minor focuses without a solidified major focus. But it doesn't just have to be one major aspect of life, this can apply to even daily tasks or even short-term and medium-term goals.

Having a major focus in life also helps give you direction and purpose and this may end up assisting you in other areas of life and fulfilling other focuses that you may have. Overall having one focus seems to be more efficient. Say you have four tasks to do one night, and you just cannot decide which to do so you spread your schedule out so you are giving enough time each hour to do each task separately, alternating between each task. Think of how inefficient this will be, let alone how inconvenient it may be to you. You will probably do one task and think about the other, taking your complete focus away from the task at hand.
