Before I Took Charge, I Acted Like A Trunnion

I finally woke up to the fact that I have no excuse with all the technology at my fingertips not to excel in IM, I was rather indifferent maybe even ambivalent to the Internet. It was far more a love hate relationship than one of interest, amazement and endless curiosity. It was as though I were connected to a shaft as a pivot point for some heavy load and all I did is swing back and forth as needed by the angle of demand that was hitting me.

But now I have stopped acting like I don't know enough, or the time isn't right yet for that kind of move, or any other momentum stopping excuses and have moved up to acquire an even larger grasp of what can be done on the web from a marketing point of view. I owe it to an added sense of appreciation for just "how much" is out there and know that it can become my very own with the right curiously excited effort: something to actually have fun with instead of drudging over.

I don't have specifics yet, but the feeling is right, the timing is right and the resources are all lined up like ducks in a row for the taking. It's almost laughable to think all I have to do is ask, receive, then take action based on the right instructions. All I have to do is increase the use of research materials followed equally by new marketing actions, testing and re-testing: . . . just a matter of time now.

    Hi,

Great! I wish you the best.

1 add here: know why you want to succeed. Now, in this moment, you feel....or felt....the realization. This was the wake up call.

When it is Sunday night, at 12:04 AM, and you forgot to publish a blog post that day..and all you want to do is sleep....well you might want to hit the snooze button, on the alarm clock which sets off your wake up call

In these moments the winners emerge because they know why they want to do what they are doing.

Some ask me how I have published 3 to 8 posts a day for the past 4 months. I know why I want to push myself. I know why I stay up later, or wake earlier, or push myself to do extremely uncomfortable things at times.

You are dead on; you have all the tech in the world, and all opportunities surround you. Decide why you wish to succeed to move into goal-achieving action, today, tomorrow, and for the next 6 months, then for years, for 4, 6 or 12 hours a day...or more.

Sure you will take days off and rest up here and there, but those uber uncomfortable moments, those ones you push yourself through, creating and connecting, these are where the massive breakthroughs happen.

    All the best!

Great to hear about your wake up call. Eventually you end up realizing that it's in the discomfort where change lies, not in comfort and giving into fear.
