I Started Doing This, And It's As If The LoA Was Put On STEROIDS In My Life!

Dear All,

I think it is now safe to say that I've FINALLY made the transition from a life of hard work - even though one laden with a lot of success and activity - to what can only be called a "charmed life".

Things are effortless now. In Flow. And when they occur - when I get the money; when I receive that hug; when I have that sex; when I live my life - they occur SO much more meaningfully and powerfully than I could have ever imagined.

It is actually hard to put what the experience is like into words. I am going to give you an inkling of it though, and tell you EXACTLY what I did, so that you will give it a shot too, and see how you go. If this does not put your "Law of Attraction" quotient on freakin' overdrive, I don't know what will.

Just give it a try. Trust me on this. Trust in the process. And let me know how things change for you on this thread over the coming months (and hopefully years).

Not too long ago, I was involved in a near-fatal car crash. Going through something like this gives you an incredible perspective on life, and how - no matter how outwardly "successful" you are - everything is in reality fleeting, given to you as a LOAN.

At any point in time, your home, your loved ones, your children, the money that you worked so hard for - life itself - can be taken away from you.

What matters in the end is whether you savored all the blessings you have been given to the last drop, without taking anything for granted, and ultimately, whether you returned all your blessings back, and nurtured back the very things that nurtured you. What matters in the end is whether you shared your Heart powerfully and passionately enough.

And it all starts with a paradoxical mixture of being in a state of profound gratitude, and NON-attachment.

Here's what I do, and ever since I've been doing this, things seem to manifest SO much more powerfully in my life when I visualize a certain outcome, or ask for a certain opportunity or blessing to come my way. It's really bizarre and uncanny how it works, but I think I've finally learned what it means to ask in a spirit of "Non-Attachment".

Here's what I now do, before I go to sleep every night.

I meditate, and connect with the Universe/YHWH/Tao/Allah or whatever you wish to call the All-Parent, and DEEPLY thank It for giving me everything: My home, my wife, my children, my businesses, my parents, my car. I then offer all these things that I hold dear to my heart BACK to the Universe, knowing that they aren't really "mine"; they are a loan. I visualize that my home has totally burned down, and my loved ones were taken from me, and resting with God; that the roof over my head no longer exists, and I go to sleep a poor man.

The next day when I wake up, I start with profound gratitude for still having all the above to last me another day, and promise not to take this loan renewal for granted.

When I do this, I am filled with indescribable love for those and the things I hold dear, and take nothing for granted. It puts me in a place of deep mindfulness, and I feel like I am coming out of an "autopilot" mode of existence, to where I am very actively present and engaged, observing the resultant growth and joy of those around me whose lives I touch.

And, when I sit down and attempt to visualize an outcome, I am finding that I am doing this less and less from a place of EGO, and more and more from a place where I KNOW even if the thing manifests successfully, it won't be "mine", but really, just the Universe expressing its creativity through me. So, I exercise thrill on the Universe's behalf, without allowing my ego to attach itself to the idea of "mine".

Things manifest SO much more powerfully this way. Try it and see!

Love

Rik

  • Hi Rik, . . . I just put out a thread yesterday to the effect there are so few success stories being shared or discussed on any of the Warrior forums (that I have found): . . . sort of as a thread which documents warriors efforts in IM from bottom to top.

Then you posted this thread. LOL - LOA More than a coincidence I suspect. Funny, huh?

The depth of your sincerity and personal experience is enveloping. I read every word of your thread post like I was eating pizza. . . .

Thank you for going so well with the Flow. I agree with everything you said and was amazed at your experiences and loved your special personal way of expressing gratitude to Creator by giving it all back. How nice. I remember using this expression of gratitude long, long, long ago. You reminded me of it. And yes, what a nice, and for you powerful, way to find the Flow. Blessings.

Forgive the length of the post I am about to write fellas.

Rather than keep posting one reply-message after another and keep bumping this thread (diverting attention from other threads on this forum that deserve their fair share of attention), I will attempt to answer each one by one in one message

      Some are DEFINITELY worth noting.

Thanks LLS. There are no co-incidences, I think. It's like the brain's RAS system is always on the look-out for precisely the lessons we need to attract in order to deepen and learn more about ourselves.

YES!!! Hahaha... I've tried manifesting what I want in the past without doing this FIRST, but I quickly learned that trying to manifest something (no matter WHAT "technique" I use) without being in a powerfully, movingly vibrational state is like attempting to go from Point A to Point B spanning 100 miles without a car.

Sure, I will eventually get there, but I know I will get there weary, with aching feet.

I've learned that the "state" I am in is in is like being in a car. With it, I'll get where I want to go faster and more efficiently, and I've found that nothing is more conducive to the proper state in which to visualize, meditate and even take action on what I want more than the practice of gratitude.

More even so, a funny thing starts happening, the more you practice the attitude of gratitude (as with everything else), the more you get "used to it" and the less intense the experience becomes.

Your method is a brilliant quick-fix for this issue. It goes counter to most people's intuition, but imagining everything being taken away from you and then being thankful that they're still there in the morning is I imagine much like the experience of having a car accident and then being thankful you're still alive. Nothing measures with the intensity of that, when it comes to gratitude.

Thanks for your kind words; glad to be of service.

Something here definitely needs commenting. You mentioned that we'll get "used to it" and so the effect this gratitude mind-set becomes less intense.

Actually, that is precisely why it is actually a GOOD thing that we don't always get what we want in life in the same way, or on the same schedule that we want.

And sometimes, this makes for very triggering, uncomfortable experiences. The blessing in this is, eventually, as we become more and more conscious, we learn to appreciate these valleys in life as opportunities to get real with ourselves, learn more about ourselves, and learn that to become vulnerable is really okay, and actually, part of what enriches us and this "human experience".

Some psycho-spiritual wear and tear is a GOOD thing; it strengthens us and keeps things adventurous.

That is why we look at the underdogs of society, and the ones that had it all, lost it all, and got it all back bigger and better than before with such AWE and respect, and why we remember them long after they are gone.

Thanks Seth! Yes, and that is why High/Ritual Magic, prayer, hypnosis, etc. work best that way as well, when we are in a deep theta/delta state (aka "sleep").

Exactly bro. It IS a "quick fix"; so quick that I honestly got a little alarmed and wondered if it was some sort of self-hypnosis. I am not one to cheat or take short-cuts.

But after the car accident where I was nearly killed (the drunk who caused it WAS killed), things really were put into this VERY real perspective for me: You just never know when the things you hold near and dear to your heart (or things you take for granted but grow desperate for when you don't have them) are taken away from you.

When you develop the "gratitude muscle" from this... Uh, wow. Who would have thought you could be un-attached to the toys loaned to you in life, and still savor them passionately while you still have them?

Indeed. Though, the sad thing is, people read this stuff and think it's an attempt at being "idealistic" and nice-sounding on paper.

I am confused. Are you actually trying to defend the 1% in this economy? How is that working out?

How much more so than before? A huge amount of success is vague. Can you describe it with examples and specifics? If you can't put it into words, describe it, or give examples then how do I know what you have done?

If this is about LOA and you are offering back everything, that sounds ok. But I am deeply concerned with visualizing you visualizing your house burning down with your loved ones in it (taken from you). This will surely come to pass as part of the visualizing of LOA. Why do this to yourself and your family? I understand a desire to remain humble but do you have to lose everything in order to do so? I hope not. I believe the goal is to have all of those things - success, family, enjoyment while staying humble about it. Then you can keep appreciating it like you are with gratitude.

A more powerful visualization would be to remember coming out of the failures, remember how you felt with that first kiss from your wife, when you made your first big check and enjoyed it, and appreciating your children, house, and car from the point of when you didn't have them. Reaffirming the greatest gratitude of getting them and building on that. That is incredible. You deeply concern me with visualizing that your house is burning down. The LOA you follow may just deliver that, especially since you are leaving yourself open to it all night.

So why start all over again every day? Just jump to trusting that you can stay humble and grow in success. Just build upon your gratitude, let that grow more, increasingly every day. You can let your gratitude - family, wife, kids, money, success - continue to grow day to day. You don't have to start all over every day. Pretending too will eventually come to pass according to The Law of Attraction. I don't want that for you. Just stay humble. Don't take it for granted by practicing enjoyment and grow!

I think you may have gotten confused a little from what and how the ego is a part of us. The ego makes a monster of master but a sensational servant. Unfortunately people often confuse the temporary elimination of the ego with having to burn your house down. Not that I am here to tell you what to do. This is a free country and if you want to burn your house down - well, there are consequences. Mother Theresa and Gandhi did something like this - taking vows of poverty. Gandhi came from a very rich family and Mother Theresa still didn't have any qualms about being able to spend the Catholic Churches money. You don't strike me as really wanting to burn your house down or wanting to take a vow of poverty either. So my work here shouldn't be too tough. I believe what you are after is the nothing place of Zen, the inner peace, a temporary elimination of the ego so it can be brought back in to serve you. If that is the case I hope I have clarified a potential unwanted bonfire for you tonight. If not - buy some marshmallows! Take nothing for granted except those things you should (if there are any). And allow the ego to attach itself to serving you.

Gratitude has been said to be not just the greatest of all virtues but the mother of all virtues. Wonderful.

How long did it take you to come to this? Or you did mention it took a near-fatal car crash. Violence is the most efficient means of obtaining results. Certainly not the best. It was quick for you but it almost cost you your life. This is one of the reasons I don't promote quick fixes even though everybody wants one. You really could lose it all.

Toby, I don't think you necessarily have to imagine your house burning down and your family being taken away from you, but you can practice "releasing" the attachment back to the universe.

Imagine for a second that "God", "The Universe" (whatever you want to call it) asks of you to give everything you love away because it was never yours to begin with. And you do it.

If this gives you an unpleasant feeling, it's a sign of attachment, an external dependency. However, when you become at peace with this, you will have overcome your ego's need to possess. It's as simple as that, and I truly believe that if you take this approach, nothing negative can come of it.

I'm not a Christian, but I was raised as a Christian and this reminds me of a story where God asked Isaac to sacrifice his son. It was a "test", a test to show Isaac that nothing he has is really "his", but merely a fragile precious gift, regardless of how much he loved the thing in question.

Right, that is what I was agreeing with, "If God asks for it?". I agree with that. I didn't say you should burn your house down, OP did. which gives us another perspective on it with, "If God asks for your house" then envisioning it burning down wouldn't be giving it to God either. Assuming of course you know God is actually talking to you. It is my belief that we can live with immense amounts of wealth in healthy responsible ways.

Sorry I just want clarify one thing. God asked Abraham to sacrifice his son Isaac. It demonstrated the type of character that God wants from us and a fundamental principal of the bible; that obedience is better than sacrifice.

OP does have a point. It does seem that the more you let go, the more you get.

This is really powerful stuff! I have been thru hell the last four years and am still struggling to recover BUT I have learned to be extremely thankful and appreciative for what I do have! I have also learned about the liberation of non-attachment. Rick's post really struck a chord with me especially the part about thanking God each night before I dose off to sleep. Also the LOA is a very strange law and can manifest itself in very strange ways at times. Especially when you need it the most.

I have not been given the gift of gab and wish I could express myself in the way some of you guys do!

Impressive indeed. Great and inspiring story to share with us. What you have stated basically is describing what I tell myself as "Bringing myself back to earth"

Appreciation for what we have already is very important to maintain a healthy mind.
Visualizing all of what we have taken away from us can certainly grow our appreciation for what we have and in turn have LOA work well in our favor.

    I will certainly try this.

The biggest conundrum for people trying this is they want to acquire "STUFF" at the same time that are trying to bring this into practice.
All the great masters tell you to release it or give it away.
Practice giving something away everyday. Even if it is just your time helping someone else. It will come back to you in a different way you don't even expect.

Thanks for this thread Rick, it is like a breath of fresh air!

I am not a big fan of the 'Law of Attraction'. Too many of its teachers and proponents tend to bundle it up with an ugly sense of 'entitlement', and send their 'students' off to try to do a mental 'smash and grab' raid on the universe.

Some great spiritual teachers tell us that asking God, or the Universe, for anything, is an act of meanness and stupidity.

Rather, we should approach the Almighty in a state of genuine gratitude for all those blessings which we currently do enjoy, coupled with an attitude of "Thy will be done"!

It's great that you have found a way to feel both grateful for, and unattached to, all the good things in your life, and to realise that they were never really yours in the first place.

      Just my two cents!

You know what's funny? You can take this gratitude process and start applying it to whatever illnesses/troubles you're currently having. And not in a masochistic "thanks God for punishing me the lowly sinner". No, I mean gratitude that you are AWARE and CONSCIOUS of your condition and that you have the OPTION to change. You have that kind of power - nothing can stand in your way to true happiness .

A very ancient Tibetan mantra. 'The Universe manifests through the Jewel in the Lotus'. ie: via our hearts and how we express love, (and gratitude)

By doing what we love, by doing what helps others, that helps the higher purpose of the Universe to unfold and we align ourselves with our Higher Self, our Soul aspect.
Allow the Universe to flow through you, with non attachment and gratitude.

I did read of a gratitude manifestation technique, that as you express gratitude for what you have, you 'slip' in something that you dont actually have yet. This causes the subconscious to manifest it.

Maybe the "Jewel in the Lotus" is talking about the Singularity in a Black Hole!

      Just a thought... haha

Wonderful words of wisdom I found over here!! I think its one of the greatest thread I have read on warrior forum. We all have a set perception about Law of Attraction, Attitude of gratitude etc. But the way you have presented your ideology is truly amazing. It definitely stirs our emotional side.

Losing any of our possession in indeed a very painful experience. But only when we think about the idea that Universe is taking them away from us, we can realize how benevolent is God/Universe in bestowing these 'precious gifts of life'!!

I am going to practice this concept. I don't know whether it would activate LoA or not but one thing is sure.... It will definitely make me grateful for this life and all that Universe has blessed me with.

Once again thanks for sharing this life changing approach!

I can see why this method is working for you. I want to try this but a part of me is reluctant to try. I mean..imagining my house has burned down and losing loved ones...what if I actually attract it?

To be perfectly fair, I think I have a context for the whole "everything being taken away from me" schtick, seeing how I ran into death very physically and nearly crossed the point of no-return.

Do whatever works for you; it doesn't HAVE to be "house burning down". It could be "Aliens coming down and laser-blasting all that I hold near and dear to my heart". So long as you are filled with gratitude for what you have now, that's all that matters. HOW you get to this state where you understand and deeply FEEL the temporal effect of everything isn't so much the point of the exercise. What is important is actually getting there.
