(For Newbies and Intermediate Marketers that are stuck/lost) You Know What To Do Just Do It

After years of struggling online I finally began to make a consistent income in August of 2013. Even though I struggled for about 5 years online, my mental toughness has increased tremendously and I truly believe that I'm unstoppable.

So, how can you develop this mental toughness?

By doing what you say you're going to do. That's it. Understand that you're human, which means you have emotions, and weaknesses like everybody else.

But....you are an entrepreneur. You decided that you want to be financially free and that is a decision that requires you to work hard and be perseverant.

It is normal to make excuses and feel sorry for yourself when you don't want to work but if you truly want to be financially free you "have to work hard" to build your business.

Being an internet marketer is not normal, which means you have to destroy your normal habits and create some new habits that will aid you on your journey to success.

Well, what if I don't know what to do?

Then find out what the successful people are doing and start doing it yourself. Like learning a sport or learning how to play an instrument, you are not going to get everything right in the beginning, but if you seek help and advice you can speed up your learning process and excel faster than the average guy but don't expect something for nothing.

You have to do what you're supposed to do even when you don't feel like doing it. Don't rely on motivation to do your work. By doing your work in times when you're unmotivated you will eventually reach little successes that will naturally motivate you to go on.

You will have to make uncomfortable decisions. That is part of being an entrepreneur.

Entrepreneurs take risks and work hard to make sure that the risks pay-off.

Understand that you have normal human tendencies but you have chosen an abnormal lifestyle. Being an entrepreneur is not easy. Just do what you have to do and don't think about excuses or anything else just work hard.

Some people may think what I'm saying is too harsh but this is reality. If you want an extraordinary life, then you have to have extraordinary discipline. Wake-up build your business, eat, sleep, repeat.

Of course you have to find time to rest, engage in your hobbies, and spend time with family and friends but your business needs to be a top priority if you want to be successful.

Once you reach your goals and you start to make a passive income online then you can reduce your work hours and outsource some of your work, but for now you have to get to work.

Glad you liked it. This is straight from the heart and I know sometimes we all need a reminder of the commitment we made to be an entrepreneur and ultimately become financially free.

That's almost exactly my story! My income reached a break even in november 2013 and I can only tell that my mental toughness has increased because I also used many years on this project. And mental toughness comes slowly. Not from day to day or even from month to month. But looking back over multiple years it is evident that the strength has increased tremendously :-)

Morale of the story? Keep going and focus on daily action. Eventually, you will get to a point where you can look back and say I'm so glad I persevered and kept going even when every bone in my body was telling me to give up. You reap what you sow.

It may sound corny but if you want your own personal "money-tree" you have to plant your seeds, water those babies, and watch em grow. It takes time but it will be worth it in the end. I guess you can say money does grow on trees after-all.

When you know you WHY, this helps a lot when things get tough for you.

    Your WHY can be anything.

Maybe your goal is to become FULL TIME. Maybe it is to make enough money to pay for a car each month. What ever it is, you need to know it and write it down.

There is one thing that will lead you to success in whatever you do. Burning your bridges so there is no going back. Once you get started the only way is up. Be a positive thinker, you can do it if you think you can.
Start by building and tracking a list. The tracking is even more important then building your list. If you don't know where your leads are coming from you can't duplicate them cost effectively.

It's a great advice. To be honest I tried to make real money online since some years but with no sucess, now I'm willing to work hard and I do when I have free time.

However I barely have 1-2 hours per day to work on my sites. I feel that at least 6-10 hours per day would be essential.

6-10 hours would be essential but if you only have 1-2 hours a day you'll just have to work with that. The key is to be consistent. If you decide you're going to spend 2 hours on your business then make sure you do it everyday.

Success usually comes after you build up momentum/consistency and you practice discipline. Although I'm not one of them, I'm sure there are people out there who have built successful online businesses with only an or hour two per day to work with.

Yep, I know it's possible to reach sucess working only 2 hours per day. I know about pof.com story, where the owner had a normal offline job with no much free time, but after some years reached a huge success...

My plan is to work few hours per day for now and the day that I start making a good income, I'll quit my job and work full time online.

I think the key here is being persistent and even if you don't have a lot of time, just continually chipping away at tasks.

It definitely creates highs and lows that's for sure! And it's pretty lonely work most of the time, as it's difficult to share with those around you for fear of lack of understanding, or dare I say it, ridicule!
I think there are a few key factors and most of them have nothing to do with actually making money online: They are more down to your work ethic, discipline, systems in place and all the more mundane business elements that just take time to put in to place.

I guess the luxury the "gurus" have is that they have the means to pay outsourcers to do all the mundane work, cos in my experience that's what takes the time. You can develop and create a solid, value´laden product in a couple of days and then you can get lost in the sea of putting everything together.

If this makes sense to anyone, just take heart that once you find your groove and the systems that work for you, it gets a lot easier and quicker!

Good post Tvon, nice to show others that it is possible to crack it if you are consistent!

Thanks for your encouraging words. Self discipline is the phrase that comes to mind - doing what you know you have to do even if you don't feel like doing it. It is often said it takes 21 days to form a new habit (and that you cant drop a bad habit, but you work on developing its opposite (the good one) thus sucking energy from the bad habit) a good example is if you want to watch less television, you are more likely to succeed if you start reading more when you would normally be watching television (instead of turning the TV off and lounging about) You feed the new habit by strangling the old one (sounds a bit harsh doesn't it).

Anyways thanks again for sharing your motivational words with us here

    Tvon, I enjoyed your post.

What I've found is taking action and "Just Doing It" is not difficult for most people.

The real problem comes in when it comes time "to finish."

Which reminds me of one of my favorite quotes....

Sometimes you just have to do what you have to do and don't complicate things up. You're right by saying it's unusual way of living online but you have to stick to your choices.
