Successful Marketers Take Both Of These Paths

I'm not even over-simplifying - it's the truth.

Many well-doing entrepreneurs are shown by the media to be one-hit wonders or geniuses. Why? Because people want to think there's a lottery to be won in business.

There are really two paths to achieving what you want.

(1) The Quantity path: Do as many things as possible until something sticks.

(2) The Quality path: Do one thing as much as possible until it hits.

But the truth is, many entrepreneurs really do both quantity and quality. The question is, which one comes first?

We first see the "Procrastinators" - or what is known as the information-seekers. These are people you'd see in any kind of market... People who buy advice but never ever try to make things happen. They're filled with fear and doubts about all sorts of things, and they are mostly skeptical.

These are the kinds of people you see on forums asking whether certain methods will work or not... without even trying it. They're scared to take the plunge. As such, they seek escape routes - by buying more and more methods.

What these people do is to seek the Quantity path before the Quality path.

The second type of people who seek Quality excessively are the "Blamers". These are people who are never satisfied with a single method. They start to blame everything for mistakes - they blame their bosses, the weather, their wife/husband, the third-party, the method, the economy, the government, etc. As you pretty much expect, the problem doesn't lie in these things - it lies in the ability of the person to grasp opportunities.

Nobody can control the wind - but we can adjust the sails on a boat to bring it to where we want the boat to go. Blamers do it the opposite way - they try to adjust the sails in an incorrect manner, and then blame the sea, the air pressure, the monsoons, and even the crew.

So what's the right way?

Firstly, seeking Quality over Quantity. Then switching over to Quantity once Quality has plateaued. In such a manner, experience can be transferred because time had already been taken to polish the previous project up to speed.

Don't jump from project to project. Don't push the blame to others. Take things into your own hands and make yourself so ready that when the opportunity is made, you can jump into it prepared.

PS. Doesn't apply to everyone, but figured it might be useful to some people.
