How many of you do Mediation ?

How many of you do meditation to keep positive vibes around you.
I have started doing meditation from last 7 days and I find this amazing.
It is helping me to stay motivated and focused.
I listen to music and keep my mind and body relaxed and it makes me feel to light and peaceful.

If you are too practicing meditation then what kind of instruction do you follow?
Whom do you follow to guide you?

I have been using meditation for about a month now and I use pretty much the same method as you, soft relaxing music with the sounds of nature, I relax the body and clear my mind.

It gets easier and easier and my third eye is starting to open, pretty amazing stuff.

      Keep it up and enjoy.

I do about 2-3 hours a day of various meditative and conscious-subconscious visualization techniques. Have certain influences but don't really follow a system. Depends on your goal. Are you trying to become present? More sympathic toward the pain of others? Depends on many things.

One thing is for certain, though. Meditation is the way.

I do meditation but not in the traditional sense... I meditate anywhere... while stretching... and while sitting down on my desk listening to classical music. I simply get in the zone... in a thoughtless state... observing the sounds and movement around me, but not necessarily paying attention to it.

I use Holosync as well, a level 2 awakening user. And let me tell you, it's been a pretty wild ride so far.

I used brainsync prior to Holosync but meditation in any form is highly beneficial really. Calms you down, lets you center in on your true self, and allows you to be a lot more emotionally in control over yourself.

Reflecting over emotions like anger and sadness and you make the emotions themselves meaningless. There's almost no reason to be angry or sad since they are devastating reactions you experience.

Not to say that you should never feel either of them, but it's a world of difference when you can instantly reflect over your emotions and actively control it as it occurs rather than allowing it to consume you.

In my mind Holosync is the king of the meditation tools out there. This coming from a personal development junkie who has used just about everything that exists out there to push myself to the next level

    I do each day.

Awesome practice. One note; you will likely hit the highest of highs and lowest of lows after meditating for many months. Be with the feelings. Nothing good or bad is happening; just your awareness expanding. Get through tougher periods, embrace the discomfort and you'll feel more liberated.

    All the best!

I've tried to meditate a few times and I don't think it helps me. What it does is it "dumps" the emotions out of my head. That's great if prior to meditating I was, say, very angry, but most of the time I don't feel negative emotions.

I start my days productively so that I can stay motivated and focused throughout the day, but if I decide to meditate, all of that is lost - I don't feel motivated anymore, I feel as if I just woke up.

Maybe I do it the wrong way. If that's the case, all suggestions are welcome.

There is no right or wrong way to meditate. It all depends on what you hope to get out of it. You have figured out a way to negate negative emotions via meditation. That's great. But this same approach might not be compatible when it comes to work and productivity. A technique I use is to visualize the success associated with all my major goals, personal and business. Do that for 15-30minutes each day, and after that 5-10minutes of conscious meditative effort to block out all thought.

.I have been meditating off and on for 30 years now it has always helped to reduce stress and tension. I practice a number of different meditations one called the yoga Nidra where use the mind to relax the body and others like the Abraham Hicks meditation where you can focus on a particular subject such as relationships, finances, health or general well-being. Meditation always helps me get into better feeling place so the law of attraction can work positively in my life

For meditation I started I started with 10 mins daily in the afternoon when I get from work. Now I'm up to 20 mins. I have found the practice to be invigorating. Sometimes even just deep breathing helps me out... It's a great destressor and also increases your focus. I recommend started with breathing exercises to learn how to take breath correctly before starting meditation, otherwise you lose a lot on its benefits.

On days when I'm really stressed, I have a meditation routine that really helps. I lie on my bed for at least 20 minutes and meditate with my eyes closed. In the laying down position, it's easier for my body to relax into almost a sleep state. But, I don't allow myself to sleep, but to feel completely and utterly relaxed. Once my body is comfortable, I start becoming aware of my own breathing which puts me in the moment. Over time, my thoughts become clear. During this time, I don't push thoughts out of my head or ask them to enter. This is just a time for my body and mind to reconnect. The time away from my stress is usually enough to help me find a way through the issues at hand.

In the past I've often wondered, what's the benefit of meditating if you could spend that time doing something more productive?

I've now come to realise that meditation will make you more productive overall. Over the last few years I've used a few programs with binaural beats - including Holosync, and some of John Assaraf's programs... with overall positive results.

I've found guided meditations to work the best for me... however I am currently attempting to do so without. Time will tell!

I've also been recording some of my own guided meditations. I must admit, it's a bit strange being guided my your own voice! You are welcome to try out my 10 minute morning meditation https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=5nLJOeZ4uaI

Yup. Daily with Holosync. I'm just about ready to hit the 2nd Awakening level and will complete the whole program. When I started I was alternately sad, depressed, angry and at one point suicidal. Working through it I found out that I had lots of very nasty stuff that happened back in high school that I'd buried. I'm much calmer and in a much better frame of mind. And I recommend it to everyone. Especially since you can record your own affirmations in your own voice.

I will give you a easy way to meditate properly. Focused or mindful breathing is also a popular method and it should not be underestimated because it can silence your mind and develop inner peace. It is a preliminary or stand-alone practice but it can also be integrated into the complete practice of meditation.

Start by focusing on your breathing to allow you to enter into deep meditation. Allow yourself to relax as it is one of the positive side effects of meditation but don't concentrate too hard on your breathing because it will stand in the way of relaxing.
Before deciding to meditate, set your intentions whether it's to give yourself some personal space or help your body heal then let your meditation take its own course. Don't be surprised if your mind drifts in a different direction because it's perfectly normal.
After you have chosen a comfortable position, close your eyes and breathe as deeply as possible. Hold it for a few seconds, exhale then repeat the process to help you focus. Since meditation is also about letting go, if your thoughts wander, just let go.
Imagine yourself going down the imaginary elevator concentrating on the number lighting up as the elevator descends and continue doing it until the elevator reaches the ground floor. By this time, you will not be thinking about anything else anymore.
Try to focus on the body part you want to relax and meditate on a place of total peace like the woods or the beach and meditate on this place as long as you want after all your muscle are relaxed.
Now, go back to that imaginary elevator and go up using the same technique as when you are going down. Don't rush. This time you are getting out of the 10th floor. Now open your eyes and experience the tranquility.

I have been in spirituality for a long time, have back ground in Reiki, Thetha Healing, Reconnection... and also some other stuff. What is usually not explained bout meditation is this. People are differend and they for every one there is a differend type of meditation. There is not just only one type... to be still calm your thoughts... and be with your self out side of your mind. As I said the main point of meditation is to be with your self in silence without thoughts... some people will go to this true a traditional meditation tehn. others can do them in other ways. For example, for me is best meditation to walk around with some calm music in my ears... best in nature (or in city) and just walk... fell my self feel my body... and just be. For my friend... for example is meditation sking... when she does this she is with her self... for some one else it mite be running... or playing music... or some wemen... al so like to clean to clense their soul... it depens on a type of person you are.. so what I wanted to say... people usually get caught in labels... meditation means this... and to be still is the only way to come to it... but that isnt true, meditation is to be with your self... or feel your self... what ever works for you. So if you are having problems with one sort of meditation... maybe you should try some thing else... that works for you.

    Best Regards & Much Love

    David

      Great topic for a post!

I don't think there is a "method" or protocol for true meditation.

So many seem to be looking for a "way" to meditate. I think the best answer is whatever works for you. I've met many that are so consumed with fitting into a method of meditation that they negate the reason for meditation to begin with, which is to be without thought.

I think if you're in the present moment, in the stillness and space of the mind, you are meditating. If music or audio helps, go for it :-)

I like doing Qi Gong, sort of a moving meditation.

It's slow, easy (not like Tai Chi which can be very complex) and doesn't take a long time to do.

Helps me stretch all the main areas and increases energy to all the main meridians.

It quiets my mind because I have to focus on the form and movement.

My mind is very "busy" for good or ill, so regular meditation drives me crazy.

So, that's why qi gong is a great alternative for me.

I just found free videos on Youtube and follow them until I learn a set by heart. Now I can do it anytime, anywhere.

In fact, let me go do it right now!

I meditate and practice yoga. I started about 2 months ago. Sever pain in my neck and upper back. No extra money to go to a doctor. So I started looking for alternatives to get my mind off of it and fix the issue. I know when I got an xray leaving the army the said my upper spine was curving some or something. Since I have started meditating daily and performing yoga poses. I honestly have had minimal at first to no pain now. Hopefully I can get myself to a point where I can start lifting weights again. This changed me so much I actually started working on a yoga website. I do my poses as soon as I wake up. Make a quick breakfast. Shower, shave, and then meditate for about 30 mins. After I shower at night I perform my poses and meditate again.

I meditate once in a while. I used to follow a routine but now I would need to work on that again. I'm quite spontaneous and don't do much scheduling when it comes to meditation and often bombarded by other priorities. However, I still try to find time for mindfulness, especially when I need it the most.

Since I have ADHD I have a very strict regime for myself, and one of them is meditation on daily basis.

I do this the moment I wake up, after I took my protein shake.

For me it's nothing more then 21 minutes, sitting in a chair, watching my breathing. Have been doing this for atleast a year now, haven't missed a day. The one thing that I changed was that I used to do it whenever I felt like it, now i make it a priority to do it first thing in the morning. That makes it a lot easier to do.

  • Many people do not practice it because they are under a mis-impression of what it is, or have tried it not really knowing how to go about it, and been frustrated and quit.

That is why I put out this instructional video a long time ago instructing people on the truth about meditation and how to do it:

I do it most days (and am getting more diligent again lately).

Either a basic breathing meditation (with or with colors), or one of my favorite prosperity meditations (i.e., either Abraham-Hicks or an abundance energy meditation I have). Sometimes, I also use others, including the Ho'oponopono meditation.

Sometimes in the morning, but often sometime during the day - it makes for a great break.

Hey I used to listen to Holosync too! I might have to dig out those CDs...

I basically use NLP to get centered, peaceful, empowered. I find it works great for a fast stress-reducer and crushes writer's block, resistance, procrastination, etc.

Works so good I made a WSO for it so I could sell private calls to anyone who wanted to learn it and experience it for themselves.

My mind was always too "busy" for traditional meditation. So I taught myself Qi Gong from YouTube videos. That really helps me a lot center my energy and "power up" so to speak.

Other than that I make animal sacrifices to the blood gods, throw salt over my shoulder and take action x3 each day and say a magic spell. Naw, just messing around, my mind feels like socializing and goofing off with like-minded peeps. Go Warriors!

I've doing it for a few months and experiencing great success with it, better focus and more calmness in stressful situations. For beginners, i'd suggest trying calm.com for trying mindfulness meditation in 5 minutes.

Hi, most religions that I have looked at or experienced, require you to connect to your source, minimum of once a day. This is done through prayer or meditation. I think that in order to achieve your best self, it would make sense to evaluate, what amount of time is best to achieve your best state of mind for you in your experience. As far as technique, breathing deeply and slowly, creates a change, in your mind, chemically and brain waves wise, blood pressure and muscle tension. Focusing on positive emotional memories as a starting point, gives you a platform to build from towards connecting with your source. I hope please God this helps. After building this platform, you start focusing on what you want to achieve for your path in life. Lots of luck

The title says "Mediation" and I have just finished a course in that topic which is what drew me here...

However, meditation is something I also recommend for peace of mind! I tend to focus on one or two uplifting phrases mainly from the Bible. Thank you.
