Question: Do You Really Need to Make More Money or ...

Do you really need to make more money or do you need to simplify your life more?

That's a question I often ask myself. Not because I don't like money, profits or material items.

I do it to keep myself in check. To balance myself from the barrage of marketing, advertising and social pressure. You know to buy the latest, the improved and or the product with added bells and whistles.

Even if you don't fall for the consumer side you can still fall for the latest products in name of business investments. The latest computer software, business equipment or smart phone.

What's your thoughts on this subject?

Great thing many people should often remind themselves. Are we taking on too much for ourselves? What are our priorities? Where is our time being spent?

Sitting and revamping your schedule, and rethinking your priorities can reorganize what can seem to be an overwhelming and stressful lifestyle.

Simply taking this time can possible allow simplifying our life without taking much of an affect on our income.

I would have to say I need both. I have gone the route of simplification to save myself time and money. I ended up oversimplifying to the point of having nothing to look forward to which made me less motivated, however with the stagnate point I was in in my life i have to make numerous changes. My "job" is not fulfilling mentally, or monetarily. Currently I need to just adjust where my time and effort are focused. I can't afford to simplify for a while i guess.

I think it begins with needing to make more money. The more money you make, the simpler your life becomes. Because you can now hire more personnel and outsource more. It's Internet Marketing we are talking about....

the big question..is why do you "need" to make more money ..and our there other ways to get what you need the money for .

the cost of food and energy..and the amount of taxes seems to always rise .. and of course health care / insurance ..

forget simplifying your life ..most people are simple enough...make money spend whats left after taxes and expences on stuff there are probably spending to much time working to make more money to ever enjoy .

how can you use your money now ..to reduce these expenses or turn some of these expenses into sources of income in the future as all these expenses will continue to rise with food and energy purposly being left out of inflation stats ..

This is such a great question to ask yourself. I personally try to live as simply as possible. Why? Because life is so much freer and less stressful without all of these extra things weighing you down. I spend money where it counts and I save whatever is left over. I do agree that you need something to look forward to though. For me, that something to look forward to is usually travel.

Maybe we are looking at this in 2 different ways.

Simplifying our life - removing inconveniences, lower values, and making room for higher self satisfying priorities.

Living a Simple Life - Avoiding complications, removing expenses, and appreciate life and nature for its offers.

I think it depends on why you want to make more money.

Most reasons are pointless, and make you just another part of a massive game of capitalism.

Certain reasons are noble. There are plenty of wealthy people doing great things for others, especially the less fortunate.

I don't call them poor. They were simply less fortunate in the money game.

Yes! Well defined. Less fortunate in the money game, Not poor. It is difficult to compare success with those not in the same positions for similar success'.

Money often blind them from what they really want. Maybe sometimes because they feel without it they cannot achieve anything. Forgetting themselves as they spiral in circles living paycheck to paycheck. Maybe this is because your not doing what you want to do.

Maybe some people need reverse psychology. Instead of looking at the big picture, or Ultimate goal that is often blinded by gold coins and luxury. Look at what you are good at now, and what you enjoy most!

After you discover your true self, THEN look at where this can bring you. Redesign your path so it is clearer for you!

I can say.. Based on the growth of civilization and the era, cost of living, cost of Want's Increased Over the years.

Governments / Entrepreneurs / Company / Opportunists take their place to feed off us. Thus, putting Demand / Supply on scale.

We need MONEY to survive in this life right now. We need MONEY to educate / to protect our younger generation.

There are Many things in life we don't want, but through addiction, pleasure, greed, this creates opportunists to rise up.

We Need money In Order to simplify ourself in this life.

How about those with significant income to stabilize family for centuries to come? Many continue forward to achieve higher growth and take in more responsibilities. Long past the stage of supporting family and your favorite charity.

Putting aside the World Renown. My uncle for example currently running 4 bed and breakfast properties, a restaurant, antique trade and souvenir shop, motel unites all well positioned for steady income. This year he opened up a new themed bar and grill.

His desire for more and compilation of extra responsibility seem to never end. I wish he would grasp the possibilities of internet marketing.. It is simply not him and he is happy doing as he is.

Do You Really Need To Make More Money? Guess that is a question to ask ourselves when money is simply not a part of any complications nor will it be in the future.

This post reminds me of a quote...

"Annual income twenty pounds, annual expenditure nineteen [pounds] nineteen [shillings] and six [pence], result happiness. Annual income twenty pounds, annual expenditure twenty pounds ought and six, result misery."

            Charles Dickens, David Copperfield

Brilliant advice to live within your means.
However, we should also try to earn as much as we can... without becoming nervous wrecks.

how many people have actually helped their families for centuries by obtaining large amount of riches in their lifetime..who where not ruthless empire builders .

yet before the westerm mindset of fortune hunting and the protestant work ethic conquered the world many populations around the world had ways of loving that rarely had people starve or go without food or water ..that lasted thousands of years .

just why iis it becoming common for multi millionaire and billionaires to tel their children not to expect much of it .

if you want to provide real wealth to your family for centuries ..and do so in a way they may contribut to humanity surviving to the end of this century .

use the money make today to buy a huge piece of degraded unproductive land ..learn permaculture and turn it into a productive food forest ecosystem that will last for centuries .

that way you procide healthy food . a supply of water.. a safe low stress environment ..renewable sources of energy , and with no debt ..the only worry will be taxes

how many people in the last decade who after working and saving up all the money they could in their working lives.. have either lost a bunch that money to the stock market or seen safe investments not grow .. and then had everything wiped out by an illness .

the "need" to make more and more money and the idea that we shoul put more money away for a time when we can't earn more ..has been conditioned into us now for our own true gain..but the parasites in the syteme who suck out much of the fruits of your effort .

always invest in yourself and your future ability to earn money if you need to ..there are health benifits to not being poor or financially stressed ..it give you access to better places to live ..higher quality of food to eat ..we now live in an income based classist society ..where the amount you are worth or make dictates how many people with treat you .

you can't do nothing about the color of the skin you where born with, or the ethnic heritage of your parents ..of the current status of where you where born.

you can do something about how much money you have .. and in the world we live in your economic status is what matters to a lot of people ..and opens many doors to you .

while huge amounts of debt and poverty close many doors .

That quote is deeper than it first appears on the surface. Because the old school thought is the more money you have - the more complicated life can get (if you don't know how to handle or manage it. See "How The Lives Of 10 Lottery Millionaires Went Wrong.

But the other side of the two-edged sword in this new economy is in order to live the simple life you need money. But maybe not more than you can handle? Does that sound accurate? Or is that too simple. (Pardon the pun)

The thought of the "The more money you have - the more complicated your life is" are different from time to time especially today as Revolution has changed the world.

In order to live the simple life you need money. But how much money you need in order to have simple life? That's the question.

            Money = Happiness
            Happiness = No Worries
            No Worries = Freedom
            Freedom = Money

In theory most people will tell you to live the simple life all you should need is food, shelter and clothing, the basics. But in the real world it's an individual choice after the basics are covered. Now many people would add cell phone, video game or satellite T.V.

It is true that we have to continue to evolve with the world around us. It is only because of the time we live in that money brings us so much value and improved lifestyle.

i have watched the zeitgiest stuff in the last week ..not the first time but i dug into it a bit . i have always hit a wall when they hit the veis project material .

now the economy we have and the government we have ..exist because because we where trained to work for money . to buy the stuff we need.. and ourselves and where much of what we consume is produced ..are countless hands trying to make money in the process .

right now the economy is deflating ..but beiing made to look like it is growing by government spending and high healthcare spending and ever increasing debt for college .

in the real economy people are gaining the abilities to produce some of what they consume .. or they are consuming more stuff from those who produce it with almost no hands in between ..

there will be no place for centralized management of the planetary resources ..we are going to rabidly reduce the resourse we use to do what we do know..and learn ways to restore many of the renewable and regenerative system we have either destroyed or degraded .

if you are one of those hands between those who produce and those who consume .. and you do not add significant value ..which right now is most working people ...of course its a scarey time .

if you are going to invest in anything invest in you ability to produce thing people will want ..and produce it while making a fair profit selling it

  • We all want more money but I thing really is to find happiness no matter how much or how little you earn. Having a lot of money doesn't mean you have to live a complicated life. And a life that's too simple can be boring if you don't give yourself something to look forward to every once in a while.

Happiness can be seen in many different ways.

      Example:
An urban child whom have IT gadgets for their first time, or even a well for drinking water. This are true happiness caused by Civilization / Governments and such.

      Compared to:-
A spoilt brat whom have gold and riches of the world, only to spend the money In Order to find happiness. This is Paying for happiness.

like what you guys, we need money in order to involve around us, in order to sustain ourselves.

But far most of all, we (this century) need money to escape from this world, just like what C G said.

      FREEDOM

Mr Bill has shared a great resource about this on the WarRoom. One thing I've learned from him about his "2x" method is that in order to be financially free, we only need to double our income.

Financial freedom doesn't come from having it all, or having so much. You only need to double what's "enough" to feel financially free.

A good example he mentioned was somewhat like this. If you win $5M in lottery, how "relieved" would you feel in a scale of 1-10 (10 being the highest). So you'd probably feel around 9 or 10... Now what if you won $10M, how relieved would you be?

So it's basically the same. You will not be financially free unless you know what's enough. When I haven't heard about this 2X Method, I had a different approach towards money. A different mindset. If we won't know the real worth or value of money, we will spend the rest of our lives feeling stressed chasing for financial freedom that seems so hard to achieve.

That's often harder to do than it looks. I've read, heard of ... and even seen people who reached that magic number (or so they thought). But they still didn't reach the ultimate goal ... Happiness!

So, they continued to amass more "stuff" thinking that would make them happy like a rat chasing a piece of cheese.
