Journal of self improvement

Hey guys,

The title pretty much sums it up here. I'm going to be going on about my life and how I'm striving to make vast improvements and forming habits towards the betterment of myself.

I made a thread yesterday or the day before, I can't remember which but it basically summed up my first day of progress. Today was a pretty solid subsequent period. I wrote my resume, did an hour of chemistry study, did an hour of martial arts and now I am rewarding myself with some grilled cheese sandwiches and a bit of leisure time on the computer.

Only problems are sleep and fear. I slept from 4am to 3pm, oversleeping is a constant problem of mine. I have a huge list of things I want/need to do soon and if I keep sleeping my days away I won't get them done.

As for fear, I tackled pretty much none today. I didn't actively go out and make sure I hit one, although I did go into a local business and ask them about jobs which I considered to be a very minor tackle of fear.

What I'd really like to do is tackle flirting with girls. I need to develop this skill if I am of any hope towards attracting a girlfriend.

I'll update you guys tomorrow and will make this an ongoing thread to monitor my own progress and have you all make me accountable for what I set out to do.

Moderated: The part I bolded is against the forum rules. "Follow me" type threads are not allowed. That's why this thread was closed. You may want to start your own blog, and then you can link to it in your signature file. Anyone who wants to follow your progress can do so via your blog.

getting started is half the battle. It's good that you are recognizing the things that are holding you back and you are working towards correcting those things. If you start having negative thinking about something take a CBT approach towards the thought. What evidence do you have that supports the thought, what evidence do you have that does not support the thought, what's a better way of looking at the thought.

remember, as my favorite quote goes:

"Never risking failure means you never give yourself the chance to succeed."

    Good luck

Give yourself small goals each day and then increase the difficulty each day. You will gain momentum and eventually you will get to a point where you won't want to break the streak.
