How Do You Use Brainwave Audios

Hi,

I realize this is a very simple question and I'm almost embarrassed to ask, but
I am trying to figure out how to put brainwave audios to use. I have a basic knowledge of what each of the types is for, but how should I use them?

I believe I could use some retraining of some deep seeded beliefs.

Should I be visualizing, meditating, watching videos - or something else while I listen to them?

Thanks,

Christopher

Depends whether you use stuff like binaural beats from brainwavetracks.com or regular meditation music, or even video affirmations. Each audio has a specific purpose and way to use it.

I have two of them. One (Theta) is pulses at different speeds with the sound of waves coming ashore added. The other has what sounds like high-pitched static with the sound of rain & thunder added.

    Both are an hour long.

They didn't come with instructions, other than wear headphones and don't listen while driving.

I use them while I'm sleeping. You're relaxed and it keeps your subconscious mind engaged (working on something constructive). Just make sure you always use headphones or ear buds to get the maximum benefits..

      Hi Christopher,

below you'll see my explanation of brainwaves and what they are helpful for. The high pitched 'static' you are referring to is more than likely 'pink noise' and is often used a a carrier background sound under which the brainwave entrainment (usually binaural beats or isochronic tones) is working to 'entrain' your brain to a desired frequency. You should listen to binaural beats with headphones, preferably while you are relaxing. If it's Isochronic tones, you don't need headphones and could listen whilst working at your PC for example. If the backing is very soothing (as in using water sounds) then the aim is to get you into a very relaxed state but without knowing more about the products you have, it's difficult to say exactly what they might be designed for. Usually a brainwave entrainment audio will have a specific goal, like improving your focus, concentration, improving sleep and many others. Best bet for you would be to just listen to them and see how you feel after you've listened a few times. As for getting rid of or changing deep seated beliefs, this is something that they can be helpful for and it's what I specialize in but my site won't be ready for about another month. However, if you'd like to email me I would be happy to do a special recording for you. You'll just need to let me know a bit about the issues you are facing. My email (oh, not even sure that I can put that here but I'll try) is mariamcm@inbox.com). Please put Warrior Forum message in the subject when you reply if you choose to. Anyway, info on Brain Waves below and hope this is helpful.

      Delta / Theta / Alpha / Beta / Gamma

Everything our brain does, it does using waves. We know this because science has proven it, with the use of EEGs (electroencephalograms) and fMRIs (functional Magnetic Resonance Imaging). There are 5 key brainwaves we need to look at here:

DeltaDelta Waves - the deepest form of relaxation. Associated with pain reduction, endorphin release, euphoria, harmony, balance, production of endogenous opiates (enkephalins) to control pain and reduce anxiety, restful sleep, self-renewal, enhancement, improving memory, learning, problem solving.

ThetaTheta Waves - very deep levels of relaxation. Associated with restful / deeper sleep, less sleep due to creating better quality of sleep, meditation, inner guidance, intuition, creative ability especially for art, invention, music. Also for grounding, meditation, memory, focus, inner peace, emotional healing and mental fatigue.

AlphaAlpha Waves – awake, relaxed and not doing very much. Associated with learning new information, creativity, enhanced serotonin release, mood elevation, arousal.

BetaBeta Waves – awake, alert, normal brainwave stage. Associated with concentration on tasks, focusing, improved attention, problem solving, conscious thinking and learning.

GammaGamma Waves - associated with formation of ideas, language, memory, and learning. These are considered ‘higher’ states, usually only achievable by those who have spent a great deal of time meditating, such as Tibetan Monks.

Most creators tell you to simply sit back, relax and close your eyes while listening. I do that, but I also practice visualizing my goals, meditating and watching subliminal videos while listening to brainwave audios. I find it's like killing two birds with one stone. And it's effective.

Thank you each for your contributions!

I don't know why, but I have the hardest time visualizing while trying to meditate. When I try to picture anything, all I see are colors. Mostly black with small rolling clouds of color in the center - usually lavender and sometimes white or gold.

Listening to the binaural beats while meditating alone or trying to visualize didn't seem to be productive - especially being frustrated that I don't produce pictures in my mind.

I found some IamVibration videos containing scenes I find very pleasing mixed with binaural beats, music and messages. I've been watching them every morning and evening. I feel more relaxed, confident and motivated.

If anyone has any tips for visualizing or recommendations for other brainwave entrainment videos to check out, I'd really like to hear them...

A quick and effective way that worked for me is to try visualizing things your familiar with, for example.

Close your eyes and visualize ...

      Your living room.
      How Your kitchen looks.
      Your loved ones.

Get the idea, start with things around you
And other things you're familiar with first.

Do that for 7 days for 10 - 15 minutes. (Your training your subconscious mind what you expect it to do). Be committed, this will build your confidence. Guaranteed!

Next practice visualizing your goals. Practice makes progress.

      Good luck.

I use an audio from Alpha Mind System.

I listen to it everyday. Whilst meditating.

I also recorded my voice with affirmations on top of the waves. I listen to that during my jog and whilst I sleep.

Binaural Beats and Isotonic Tones are awesome but Alpha Mind System is probably the best I've used. They call theres trypnaural beats.

They help be get centered and give me clarity of mind (focus).

Or forget about them. The goal can be relaxing and / or feeling better. You can do the same with the right music. Listen or bookmark YouTube videos and you will get the same results. I can post some examples if you want. Whatever mood I am, some music always makes it better.

      Hey Leo,
I agree with you that music certainly can relax you and make you feel better, and I listen to music a lot. But when music is combined with brainwave entrainment (eg, binaural beats/isochronic tones/monaural beats) and other forms of therapy like NLP, Hypnotherapy and subliminal messages, then it becomes a very powerful tool that reaches into your sub-conscious in a way that ordinary music may not. That's not to say I haven't ever been moved to tears by a piece of 'ordinary' music - and I frequently get goosebumps when I hear certain music, so I'm absolutely with you on the power of music... but I don't agree that you should discount the power of brainwave entrainment to create not only deeply enhanced enjoyment of the music, but powerful internal changes as well.

I've used them while meditating with some pretty interesting results. Seems like it was easier to just go with the flow, and not get distracted by my thoughts.

    Are these things scientifically proved?

I've tried some of them and yes, I've seen an increase in focus. However, it was about the same effect as for a white noise.

I guess the key is to use headphones and if possible, noise-canceling ones. I'm not 100% skeptical since I know that they deliver SOME benefit but they are not really as good as advertised.

Every person responds to a different frequency of sound. Personally, the sound of a hair-drier works great for me. It blocks out almost everything else and it allows me to focus. I hate the sound of a air-conditioning unit but other people found it great.

In any case, take them lightly and try to combine them with other forms of stimulation (like aromatherapy or light therapy).
