Whats the single best self development course out there?

Take action each day toward your goals and learn from each failure.

I think self help programs are a waste of money and time. You're paying to learn a watered down version of what someone else learned either through trial and error, hard work, or lots of failure and feedback. Doing this yourself and going through the trial and error and hard work and failure and learning will ALWAYS be better than hearing it from some guru.

To each his own, though. Most people are just too lazy to put in the work and the self-help gurus know this. That's why the self-help industry exists.

read those, good books, but, really this is about learning style then anything else.

If I wanted to learn to play a sport, which is better a book or a video? Depends on the person. Nothing will beat experience of course.

I am just looking to hear what others have to say about programs and what is the tools the person is using to teach. Maybe, I will hear of something that would be worth taking a look at I dont know. Just keeping an open mind.

if there was a one best ..the self help industry would collapse ..it almost did when the big companies stopped hiring motivational speakers .

then the loa was marketed ..and every tom dick and harry decided to be an entrepreneur ..so the shif was to small business people .

i gave up on the self help books ten years ago because most are 95 percent the same stuff .

if you watch the Jim rhon stuff on you tube you will get some of the best stuff .

the best course it the one that gets you to ..do something to develop yourself not just ead the next book and the next thing to do ..that you will get to doing some time .

learning to cook different things watching you tube videos ..has been a good bit of self development for me..looking up the different health benefits of different foods .

chang will happen.. will you make progress or lose ground .

set goals ..and if your procrastinating..set better goal.. until the goal you have pull you out of your bed before the alarm goes off .

find the system that has the most manageable path of progress ..you have been on the path you are on for probably a few decades or more ..even the military needs 2 months to turn you into a soldier ..then many more months to train you with skills you need to have ..and that is with 18-25 year olds .with it takeing most of your waking hours .

you can find 700 ways to bake bread ..if you never make bread from scratch ..or make your own pizza dough .. or mash your own potatos ..the best wheat grinder .. bread mixer ..oven.. and bread baking pan. on the market won't help ..

the 5000$ premium golf clubs with all the wearable golfing gear will never help you if you never go to a course .

do something you are willing to do badly then get better at it

The single best personal development course out there is your own personal development course.
One that is in the making, and making for only one. You!

Are you looking to improve your patients? Attitude? Ambition? Motivation?
When you make that definite decision to personally develop your body and mind, the course has already begun. The chapters are for you to research and discover for yourself.

No one book or website will know how to personally develop you the same way that you can do so for yourself.
There are 1000's of self help books, and 10'000's of articles that have ideas and opinions that can improve our everyday lives. If any one of these were considered the best then wouldn't everybody simply read only that one?

Having one book or "Course" as a holy grail for your learning will only limit yourself.
That is my opinion anyway!

My favorite is and will always be Jim Rohn's "The Power of Ambition". It is such a comprehensive course and the reason why I think it was so effective for me is because he reinforces the idea throughout the entire course that it is fully and completely up to you and you alone. He is so good at convincing you that it is in your own best interest and benefit to develop discipline and it will be reinforced by seeing a pattern of pleasure. Once I started following his principles and began seeing that pattern of pleasure in my life I was and still am hooked and now I'm addicted I will never go back to the old lazy me. By far my favorite, him and Les Brown will get me fired up on any given day.

I could recommend many books, but it looks like others in this thread have the same thoughts that I do!

The best personal development course I've ever used is Personal Power 2, by Tony Robbins. LOTS of great stuff, and he prods you to TAKE ACTION every day. If you follow along and take action, each day's action items will build up like a snowball effect to give you great momentum.

I credit Awaken The Giant Within and Personal Power 2 for helping me create a great life!

Anything that has to do with Tony Robbins, go with that.

For me, he is the best of the best.

I guess what I was asking was what was best for YOU in personal development. I read all the books recommended. That isnt the problem. I was looking for more of what I just discovered which is VIDEO live demonstration courses. Just to compare.

Have you read RESOLVED by Orrin Woodward?

In my experience, I've felt that the vast majority of self-help literature of the last 50 years or so is very superficial.

In that book, Orrin talks about three young Colonial Americans resolved to build lives of virtue by studying and applying daily resolutions. They are Benjamin Franklin, George Washington, and Jonathan Edwards.


You want real personal development material? Read the in depth analysis of how George Washing resolved to build Character; how Benjamin Franklin resolved to develop Wisdom; and how Jonathan Edwards focused on serving others with humility.

I havent read RESOLVED. maybe some day I can get around to it.

Think and Grow Rich, just read that book, and do what it says...also, a tougher to follow book at first, but OH SO prospering when you get it, and use its principles, but The Science of Getting Rich has had a profound impact on my life. Neither is a program, but if you want self development, these 2 books deliver the message. All the best!
