Shocking! ... 31 Powerful Benefits of Gratitude You Didn't Know About

I always knew being thankful for what you have is a nice thing to do, provided no one cuts you off on the freeway, your sales are increasing and all your bills are paid on time

But I read a recent article that proves science is proving being grateful is a major key in being happy, healthy and making smarter decisions. Harvard Medical Review

Plus a host of other benefits, over 31 to be exact.
Just reading this put me in a better mood after a stressful day. Check it out here.

I also discovered billionaires Donald Trump, Oprah Winfrey, and recently new billionaire, Rap mogul Dr. Dre all have one thing in common.

They all use what is called a Gratitude Journal, and they used it long before they became billionaires. Oprah Winfrey explains it in the video below.

I've recently started one myself.

It quickly helped me focus on more of the "daily" positives working for me - as opposed to the negatives that distract me.

Plus, it's helped me discover many little (but important) strengths, advantages and benefits I was overlooking that could get me to my goals faster.

But one of the main benefits to me is it just makes you feel better. and more empowered no matter what you're going through.

So, before you reach for that drink, pill, or hunk of cheesecake. Try making and using a Gratitude Journal. It could be one of the best decisions you make this year.

If it's good enough for billionaires - it's good enough for me ... and you!

Good idea. I am going to start doing this. Writing down 5 things you are grateful for every morning and reading them seems like a great way to start off the day in a positive way.

You've got tons of compelling facts here. I have been keeping a journal for many years and it's helped me hugely! Nice blog!

Somehow I never thought that Donald Trump would be doing this also. If this is a fact, it changes my feeling about him a little bit.

I'm not sure if he does it now, but I read he did it a lot after he filed for bankruptcy in 1991, 1992, 2004 and 2009.

A great blog. I keep a gratitude journal. It's a great read for when you that life up and for the times you want to remind yourself that there is always a silver lining at the end of a turbulence.

Do you prefer to keep a daily journal or for specific occasions only? You prefer it in digital or writing?

For me I prefer to write things down. Makes it more personal.

I keep a daily journal and write it out by hand. If I'm out I'll enter it on my smart phone and write it in my journal when I get home.

Most of the time I'll have my 7 things before I leave the house or even get out of bed sometimes.

I started doing this two weeks ago every morning after I exercise.
I have to admit, I feel more relaxed and appreciative of things I may have once took no notice of.

Yes, it stops "taking things for granted" cold in its tracks.

Thanks for the tip! There's something about writing something down that solidifies a thought into a real "thing". Writing down your thoughts seems to give them some extra life.

I am grateful for this post Niche Man, so thank you, and a great video from Oprah. I do start and end my day with a gratitude session in my head, going through all that I am grateful for, but have never kept a journal. I guess it is time to put my thanks on paper daily. Thanks for the great info

I wrote a blog post about gratitude a month ago. So I am especially GRATEFUL to read your post including the Harvard Medical Review and the Oprah video. I've copied them for my references. Like others who have responded, I will start my day and end the day with a Gratitude Journal as well. What a powerful practice! To put your focus on the gratitude "vibration" must affect your mind/heart/soul, raising it to a higher level than it is in daily life. We could all profit from that, each of us and the world.
