How To Transform Any Negative Energy / Depression / Poor Self Image Into Positive

I have used tons of methods over the years, however this one has been especially useful to me to make big transformation. Therefore I had to share it. I used to be depressed very frequently around 20 years ago. Now, I don't feel I even have a bit of that left in me and am constantly in positive energy (joy, love, compassion, excitement, positive expectation, incredible creativity, etc.)

The #1 thing that helped me make the shift to a higher, funner energy is journaling exactly what I was feeling. That means if I was feeling really, really terrible, dark, evil thoughts, I did not try to escape from that. I wrote them down exactly. Word for word. Feeling by feeling. I expressed it out on paper. Just the act of writing it down took the negative charge out of the negative energy so over time I could be more accepting of it. I allowed it and accepted it completely. Over time I realized it was not really me, just some negative energy. That filled up pages and pages in my journal. Soon I filled up many, many notebooks full of this black negative energy. As I kept doing this for days and months, I found that not only did this break the depression patterns completely but I also had my Higher part of me want to write in the notebook also some higher or better feeling thoughts about what I was going through. This way I started creating a bond with my Higher Self also over time. Soon I had notebooks full of pure, positive energy. In fact, I was surprised that I wrote some of that powerful stuff. Slowly, slowly, slowly my entire inner space changed. Now it is 20 years later and not only am I constantly living in higher funner vibration, but my entire reality has changed also! I am living exactly the life I always wanted. I am so grateful and constantly receiving more and more great things to feel fantastic about daily! Hope this method helps. Try it! It will break any negative feeling habits! It will take the charge out of the negative energy and connect you to your Higher Self or Spirit over time if you keep doing this. It worked for me!

Of course this was just the starting point for my personal growth. After this, I have found many incredible methods!

    I personally didn't find this technique helpful. Although others might. I tend to be a learner in which writing is my best technique to retain information so recording negative thoughts in that way seems to reinforce them.

    It's probably helpful to those who retain information better by seeing or hearing though. That way it's not in your head as often.

    As another tip I would encourage other warriors to assess how they learn best. It has drastically changed how I administer information to myself. If I'm alone without pen and paper I'll write the words/symbols in front of my face with my finger instead of listening to myself saying it.

      @Maximus93, I tend to agree with you. In most cases I use journaling for positive stuff such as gratitude journal, etc., however I find that in some cases when one has a lot of negative energy / negative charge built up inside, this method may help to get it all out, so one can see it. Then I started recognizing that this is not me, this is just negative energy. I am writing it to get it out of my system. Due to my understanding, I found it particularly helpful in clearing myself. In fact probably the most powerful technique I used for this. However, every method is useful to different folks. One has to find the method that is right for them. Thanks.

        Well, here is an idea!

        While a journal of negative emotions may reinforce them, you can always end your journal with positive reinforcement. Maybe having this reinforcement around the negative feelings will help balance its effects.

        Helping us express the negative, and overwhelm that negative with the positives we already know of.

          @damiensuccess, this is kind of what happened for me automatically, anyway. I didn't have to consciously think about it. I would be getting the negative stuff out onto paper and then I had positive thoughts about the subject flowing from my inner knowing. Several paragraphs about that would flow out of me effortlessly. It kind of shifted back and forth like this, until over time it started getting completely positive and I started developing a connection with my Higher knowing or Higher self as I was getting completely cleared out also. It was kind of the most natural process of self healing. And it was like permanent self healing. That means with each notebook I completed this way, I got into a higher and higher place, a higher vibration or joyfulness that remained from then on. And then I found several other methods to reinforce and strengthen that joyfulness in my life.

      The technique mentioned by the OP will work only if you learn to record the negative without allowing negative emotions to surface. This is called observation rather than participation. My PM to you elaborates on the difference.

        Observation instead of participation.

        Good job on throwing that out there.. A big mistake that can happen so easily.. For those with an anger problem, it may be difficult to not participate in the negative. For these people, the participation happens too quickly for them to observe and decide how they want to react.

        Be observant of your own emotions before you show them. Very easy when you discover how it is done. Asking yourself questions like why? and how? followed by an answer was the very thing that helped me begin observing my emotions before i reacted.

        Before this, you have to realize that your reaction isn't in a timed race... There is often no need to rush to your reaction. Anger often creates a sense of urgency which makes us feel as though we need to react immediately... This is only a defense mechanism which we can fully control

        I totally agree with you Dain! This is exactly what I did. I learnt to record without participation. The process of recording was very helpful to me. In fact I remember that is really the only thing that helped me enormously. Nothing else helped that way. It was a process of mindfulness or observation. I know what a tremendous difference that made in my life at the time! I think this method can help lots of folks. So many kids who go crazy because of the negativity and then they shoot people. They don't seek professional help. With this method you don't even need professional help, you can learn to work on yourself! For every kid who turns into a shooter, I know there are tons and tons who don't go to that extreme but are feeling similar negativity. I think every parent should learn this method. I am soon starting a parenting blog, and I will have this method in there including your observation!

          Great topic everyone, and really impressed with the replies.

          I make videos wherein I talk about different spiritual matters
          and recently did one on negative emotions.
          I find it such an interesting topic and so important! We get taught so little about our emotions trough life and are so eager to call some good and others bad.
          Let me know what you guys think, here are some of my perceptions.

          The main reason most techniques fail is because those suggesting/explaining/prescribing these techniques fail to emphasize the mind-state required for successfully executing them. Readers and potential students then go through the physical actions and follow step by step instructions but somehow fail to see results. Or sometimes they succeed, but there's no real consistency.

          There's almost always a physical, mental, and emotional component to any worthwhile technique. Optimal results can only be had via simultaneous attention to all components of said technique.

            This is something I used 20 years ago. I remember it worked magically for me. However I didn't think about all the salient points. It is only by interacting with you guys here on this forum that I think that many others can now also benefit from this method. It is very powerful stuff!
