The Social Spiral
by Tony Grant.
I sit into the early light,
To know just what to do.
I gather facts from Google,
But still don't have a clue.
They say I must have Google Plus,
And Facebook and Pinterest accounts.
Then add in a bit of Twitter,
And LinkedIn really counts.
Throw them all into a pot,
And stir them up real well,
Then you will be a social star,
On Google, Bing and Yell!
But is it all that simple really,
I need some social proof,
To tell me that I got it right,
That I know the social truth.
Strangely though I'm not convinced,
I'm not quite sold on it.
I don't quite think I've got it right,
It doesn't seem to fit.
But I've got so many friends,
And fans and followers galore.
I've even got a backlink,
So how could I want more?
You see the trouble is right here,
Right before my eyes,
I can't get page one google,
So it's all a pack of lies.
I don't want to be social now,
Just leave me on my own,
So I can be with all my friends,
Be Social home alone.
