I would guess that you have so problems in your life haven't you?

Do some of them seem overwhelming, massive and unconquerable?

If you stood at the bottom of Mount Everest and looked up, it would appear incredibly huge and insurmountable, wouldn't it?

What if you changed your perspective and perhaps got in a helicopter and hovered near the top, or moved far away from the mountain. Then it would look different and perhaps not so overwhelming.

We all have problems (or challenges) in our lives that appear overwhelming. Often it just takes a change of perspective to change how you feel about it and to make it appear manageable.

This could just be something as simple as looking outside of yourself.

I just have to switch on the news and suddenly see, that my problems don't appear so big".

If you are suffering from overwhelming problems then you need to change your perspective. Either

1) Look outside yourself at the people around you and realize how well off you really are

Or

2) Visualize your problem and shrink it down. Put it under your feet or push it far off into the distance. This changes your perspective and makes it manageable

Either of these will change how you feel and help you deal with your problems better and in a more resourceful way.

Don't think that someone sleeping on the streets would be reading this but good point

We often forget that we need to be grateful of what we have.

For me, i always start & end my day with 5 minutes of writing down everything i'm grateful for. Always boost my current mood

      Cheers,

The only time you will ever truly be miserable is when comparing yourself and your own lifestyle to anyone elses. When you try to adopt another person's standard as your own, you will likely fall short. As without the same resources, how can you have the same mansion, car, yacht, lifestyle? Be happy with what you have and work to improve your finances, never giving up on your dreams. But just don't envy what others have. Or, you will feel as if your problems are truly great.

It always starts there! Take what you have and make the best with it. Aim big and work hard and everything else will follow.

It's all about daily progression and focus on your goal. Surround yourself with people who think big and act big on a daily basis (and if you don't know anybody like that you can listen to audios and watch motivational speeches) because the world is full of average people with average thinking, and in order to persevere through the obstacles on your way to success, you have to think and act differently than what is normal or comfortable.

I listen every day to my motivational videos and most people should do the same! I know being average isn't the way I wanna go. I have big goals and I'm willing to put everything I have in to reach them!

I have been a very problematic youngster. The thing is, when I was younger, I felt really small, I felt as it everything was on my shoulders when in fact, it wasn't. I was surrounded by a bunch of good people. I forgot to see how fortunate I really was compared to others who were going through worse. It was when a really good friend of mine told me that he wanted to commit suicide when I realized how fortunate I was. Stopping him made me look into the better side of life.

Thanks for sharing this! I hope fellow warriors will be enlighten

That's real sad and I hope you could convince your friend from the fact that life is not bad and it lies in our hands to turn things around for ourselves!

I've pretty much convinced him on this. Our circle of friends have been very supportive of him and so far he's been in a really good state of mind.

That's good to hear! It is always good to have some friends you can count on and it sounds your friend is one of those fortunate persons.

Yes, very much. Even myself, I consider as a very fortunate person because I have so many supportive people around me. And I think everybody should feel the same because sometimes the person you least expect might possibly be the best support system you could ever ask for.

Putting things in perspective is a problem I struggle with a lot. My mind runs on over drive so much, sometimes it's hard to get all the clutter organized. I find myself comparing my results and accomplishments to those on a much higher scale, or getting down on myself because I have a bad month, or even a bad year. I let that drive me back sometimes. Putting things in perspective always helps calm me down.

"shrink it down" baby! love this stuff. There's also a lot of good info out there on making the bad blurry, making the good big and bright and vivid. Tony robbins stuff on submodalities opened my mind to this stuff.

Succinctly put! It appears like a big problem only based on our understanding of our problems. In the grand scheme of things, no problem is too big and unsolvable!

Damn, I thought this was the place to boast about my big........ haha only messing.

You're right, most of us don't realise how lucky we really are - we had a show on Tv here in the UK which features spoilt little brats shipped off to the slums in africa to live with a poor family..... they learned what REAL HARD WORK was really like - and they learned a lot of life lessons - it was a really good show actually.

Often we can learn more from the poor than we can from the rich, but humankind often fails to understand truths like this.

We had the same show here in Germany and it really shows how less problems some people have but thinking they have the worst life.

  • From the moment we wake up safe and unharmed is already a thing we should be thankful for. You don't need to be rich to feel how lucky you are but the little things you currently have, a house you live in, a family to care for, are worth more than all the gold in the world!
