The BEST Things In Life Truly Are Free

Living in America, it's extremely easy to fall victim to the mindset of a consumer. We live our lives always trying to be better than each other, "If I have these shoes I'll be better than payless Pam". If you really think about it however, we have EVERYTHING we need to succeed online and in the real world, and best of all it's free.

Think about this for a second,

You may neglect your body, but that working heart inside your lungs costs thousands when someone needs it for a transplant.

Your brain, the cornerstone of innovation and everything wonderful that makes you can never be BOUGHT or replaced. I've read somewhere that a synthetic brain cost in the trillions to produce. Just by being alive, you are worth trillions of dollars!

I didn't make this thread to offer any profound, philosophical insight, I just wanted to remind everyone that the best things in life TRULY are free.

You may not have the best car on the block, but if that car could be mass produced, how much worth does it really have? Simply being alive, healthy, and living is worth far more than any material possessions that you can buy.

    Craig,

    Thanks for this thread!

It's so refreshing to see that someone appreciates the little, free things in life; like our brains, our hearts... you're so right when you say that most people are just after the money and forget about the best things in life, the "little" things which are the most valuable: health, family, friends, etc.

Keep on posting messages like this--it makes everyone to stop and think.

    Cheers!

    Dagmar

I truly agree that there is nothing more important than your health, life and family. Even some time back water was free as a best natural thing but it's now a days not in the form of mineral water :p But yes your heart, lungs, kidney and other things functioning too hard and too much 24/7 are really precious and best things in your life and absolutely free as well
    Thanks

    Hey Craig,

    awesome point you got there.
We tend to forget the basic appriciation
of our bodies, souls and close ones.

Thank you for reminding us Craig,

    And it doesn't even work!
By the end of the semester, she hopes to have "several synthetic neurons talking to each other."
In other words... the neurons currently don't communicate.

    Not much of a brain.

    CDarlock,

that's amazing isn't it. Having a child is one of life's greatest joys, and it's something a man and a woman can do for free. Creating a robochild would cost trillions and it doesn't even guarantee a functioning one.

Puts in perspective on how valuable LIFE really is.

Yes that is indeed a fresh perspective which could put some sanity in our troubled minds, running after money, meeting deadlines, always worrying about future but never appreciating the 'Now'.

Money doesn't buy happiness, but it definitely covers for the down payment.

Think about your consciousness, your soul and spirit. Can any money in the world duplicate that, no. So precious and costly if you have to weigh

Surely the best things, the most expensive things in life are free!

You're absolutely right! And yes, we do tend to forget about those things and take them for granted. Thanks for the reminder!!

You took the words right out of my mouth! I couldn't agree more, would only add one more thing...in between the sunrise and sunset, the wonderful warming sensation the sun so graciously bestows upon us!

      Great Thinking!

Thoughts like that every once in a while is so liberating... It makes you stop just wanting to get more and appreciating things that we already have.

In nowadays almost everyone have mindset "The more cost the better it is". So we don't appreciate things that are for free.

Love is free. It is the best gift to give and receive. And so is a smile - even a stranger can give or get one.

Thank you Craig for reminding us to stop and smell the flowers!

Craig you're absolutely right, it's so easy to take for granted our most valuable asset, our health!

No point in owning the best car or biggest yacht if you've blown your health acquiring them.

I think we appreciate free things more just because they are free, but by paying slightly more for what you really need, you can love life. Moderation is key.

Great point to remind that things we take for granted are things that are priceless.

I wanna go through life real fast to be successful, I actually am living life in a fast lane. But I every so often stop by and smell the flowers, see a child smiling, try and reflect on my health, tell my friends I love them and appreciate my family.
