Are You Out Of Touch With Reality?

So I was having something of a "discussion" with a couple of people that I care about and are important to me and they basically tried to dissuade me from accomplishing my Entrepreneurial ambitions.

Saying stuff like "Sorry to burst your bubble" and "You're out of touch with reality."

Well after feeling annoyed for a while I realized that, in fact, they were right: I am out of touch with "reality."

Their reality = "Work 9-5 to pay the bills and only have enough money to get by."

Whereas my reality = "I can accomplish my Entrepreneurial dreams (including income) no matter what happens or how long it takes or how many setbacks, challenges, and "failures" I may encounter along the way."

Just something of a rant/vent for today. I don't know why, but for some reason the closer you are to success, the more "resistance" seems to materialize. Almost like it's a final "test."

Remember you can accomplish your dreams no matter how many people disagree.

    Nice words!
I think every marketer encounter this situation in the early stage of his career. When I got to know about internet marketing the first time, i tried to convience my friends to start a business with me but the just told me being crazy..
But things changed and today they come to my place and want to learn my stupid internet thing!
You need to live your life the way you want, not the one they want!

At first my friends were skeptical about my business. Years later they wonder how the hell i made it and the answer is unshakable persistence. It's a little hard to swallow for most but it's true.

But to be honest neither of you are out of touch with reality. Their reality is a regular job while yours is the creation of your ideal future. It's just a different life outlook.

We are creators and we make our individual realities based upon what we believe. It might be hard to change beliefs to accommodate different life styles, but so what? Once a new empowered belief is cemented you're that much closer to your idealized reality.

I don't think that any life style or reality is impossible to achieve, but because it hinges upon our consistent thoughts, both conscious and subconscious, it can be hard as f$#& sometimes to create our ideal outcome when we have tons of limiting beliefs and head trash to deal with.

So no one is really out of touch with their own reality, but they may easily be out of touch with their ideal reality. Your ideal outcome is just a little different than theirs. No biggie about that

Having been an entrepreneur for 25 years with an offline business before entering internet marketing, I can assure you that there are plenty of people out there that will tell you not to open a brick and mortar business, too. Add internet marketing into the mix and they are really confused as to what you are up to.

I agree with you that we are called to create our "ideal" reality in our own way and that is worth any resistance that you have to push through.

Perception is projection. My own values determine my reality. It is 100% subjective. If I personally think that the world is an awful place, I will act in a way that validates my beliefs.

The thing with metaphysics is that there is no objective standard. What you consider right may be wrong for other people.

But again good and wrong is determined by a standard. And this standard is based on how you see the world.

What you are saying is that they are wrong from an utilitarian point of view.

If X brings an 50% ROI and Y an 100% ROI, then from a utility POV Y is better. But this doesn't make it right for everyone since we are not robots. The conclusion?

Either develop tolerance for other's people views of life, no matter how wrong or ****ed up they may be (and trust me, that belief is innocent compared to what other people believes) or ignore those people.

The same can be said about the word empowered.

How can you define empowered? Better? Improved? More?

I personally consider that running 8 km a day is good for me. Why? Because the logical extension of my values and beliefs is that being healthy is a good thing. Does this means that everyone should do this?

Hell no. If someone is happy playing XBOX all day, let him be. He's right in his own way so you are in your own way.

Goals are subjective. One of my goals this month is to finish a WSO. Does this means that my goal is superior to another person's whose goal is to finish a computer game? No. It is just a means to an end to me just as that person's goal is a means to an end for him.

I believe there's nothing wrong about being "Out of touch with reality" to a certain level. I guess its also important that beyond your dreams should a touch of reality. I think that would be the best way because sometimes we get into our "reality" that we lose ground and also, i think the reality here should be the process we go through to make our "reality" for real.
