Ideas are actual motivators

People can motivate other people. A book can motivate. Money can motivate. But the best motivator is an idea!

How to let your ideas motivate you? Here is what I feel...

First you need to capture the idea. Write it down - in a notebook, on a post-it-note, or on your digital gadgets.

And then give the idea time to percolate and build momentum. You need to visualize the end result, the benefits and the feeling of accomplishing the idea.

If you really believe in the idea then let it motivate you into action. You need to start working on it; do something to make that idea a reality. Otherwise, the idea won't go anywhere!

You see, all the big man made wonders of this world began with a simple idea. When you constantly have this thought at the back of your mind, then whatever idea you get, will become your motivator to materialize it!!

    One thing I have noticed, if you pat someone on the back, you can motivate them when they are in a rut. I know for me, when someone tells me that Im a success when I don't feel like one, it motivates me to work hard. People DO motivate other people and it makes a world of difference!

    Good post. So here's a question: Do you tell others about your great idea? Do you tell everyone you know? Do you keep it entirely to yourself? For me I am a little bit guarded when it comes to big ideas or some plans I have. I will only tell people I know who are going to be 100% supportive and enthusiastic about it along with me.

      Dear Eric,

      Your doubts are very much valid. I guess most people are in the dilemma whether to share one's ideas with others or not.

      My opinion is, you need not share the ideas with everyone. But there are definitely some people who are close to us and whom we can trust upon for honest review and feedback.
      I think its worthwhile to share your ideas with such close friends or family members. This will help not only to get honest feedback on your idea, but also in getting the much needed encouragement to work on your idea and materialize it.

    I've just posted a reply about this very subject. I'm the sort of person who does tend to talk about my ideas once I have them sorted in my own head first.

    Not only does this help me really formulate an action plan, it also sort of makes me "answerable" to the person I've talked to .... if that makes sense. That's the motivation for me.

    You are so right when you talk about the need to "put it down on paper, etc.).

    Too many times we think, "Oh, I have to remember to write that down!" and then we don't! And, most of us have a hard time recalling what that thought was, IF we remember at all.

    I'm sure many have done like me and have even gotten up in the middle of the night to write down, record (or however you do it) an idea so that it did not slip away.
