Mobile App or Mobile Site
Share on:
fb share twitter share gplus share more share

My site is a video sharing website where users share high quality videos they have found on various sites such as Vimeo, YouTube etc. It is fully optimized for phones and tablets. From a marketing perspective, does it worth making an app. Sometimes, I feel that when someone has our app in his phone, then he kind of rely on us to do some short of tasks, mostly entertainment . Even if he sees my logo in his menu, it can have influence on what he thinks about our site

So, do you agree? Does it worth paying to create an all?

Would recommend both over time but to start I would definitely favor a mobile website because people are more likely to visit your website than download your mobile app.

Well mobile websites (Responsive website) as well as mobile apps both can't be ignored. Personally, I feel mobile apps can do things which a responsive website can't provide us, like offline access to user and also push notifications. It depends upon your business portal if you have cabs services like over then mobile apps serve as a boom and if you are just a blogger then I prefer no need of mobile app. People will preferably opt for browsing rather than installing mobile apps.

Well I believe that a business owner should look after from a customers perspective. What is that which a customer found feasible to work with. Is it an app or a mobile website? Considering the statistical data, I believe that an application is more prominent in terms of the usability and usage for a feasible approach. The mobile website may be optimal but at some point that could be less user friendly as compared to the mobile app.

i think that a mobile app, if you can make one is a great solution for your site, because a mobile app is more mobile friendly.

This is good info, but a website should be the core of any business idea. A good app can use a site to build a community.

It doesn't matter what your site is related with, what you need to do is make responsive site first so that people can access it anywhere from any devices easily without any hassle. Secondly, try to make the app of it so that people can find convenient in using your website without opening any web browser. It will help you to attract the people directly towards your website and can assist you to generate huge customers base for your business as well.

Simple question which do you use most an app or the web. Because I was involved in making apps I thought they were most important. Now that I have moved to traditional business I probably only use about 6 apps all the time. I got rid of a lot and most of them were business apps.

Yes, you are right that business must need app but I think though it is not business, once you have to build app because of it's user interface and user friendly.

Ideally you would have both a responsive site and native mobile apps for each platform. However if you have limited resources you should go responsive website first . Make sure that you setup your backend correctly making it easy to build your mobile apps when you are ready for this.

The rule of thumb I use...

Mobile website - For customer acquisition. To get found and provide information people are looking for.

Mobile app - For customer retention. To service and keep in contact with existing customers.
