Based on my experiences, having publishers do both methods DL or Pre-Lander, the results can vary. It all really comes down to the app you are trying to generate installs for, what type of mobile traffic you plan on using, and what are the targeting capabilities of your traffic source. Though as a rule of thumb I always encourage using Pre-Landers as opposed to Direct Linking, because you can pre-sell your customer and possibly create an angle that will convert extremely well, or badly. But it allows you to test, be creative, and usually out-produce direct linking. Also landing pages allow you to create a few filters to increase the quality of your installs, to do this you need to find out what demographics and other variables that are the best for the advertiser(helps you not get booted off the offer to quickly in case your direct linking quality is not ideal for the advertiser). When choosing an app install to promote, and how to promote it, you should know the following information. #1. Is the app already popular in the mainstream? Ranked high in the IOS/Android app store? What type of App is it? Game? Utility? Dating? #2. What traffic source am I using and what can it do for me in terms of targeting my audience? Let me know this info, and I can give you some idea if DL will work out for you, or if you should go another route. |
