Does anyone have experience with a good SMS reseller where your credits don't expire - and instead roll over to the next month?

It would be awkward for me to link to a specific website (completely new here, would be seen as spam!). All I can tell you is this: 1) Don't sign up to any seller that expires your credits. You are right, this isn't a model you want to associate with. Instead, focus on models that a) offer you unlimited credits for a specific price per month (very few do, and I think they'll disappear quickly) or b) allow you to buy a bulk of credits for a specific price. 2) Make sure you know whether or not you're paying for the platform on top of the credit. Some resellers ask you to pay more for platform use, but don't really provide any additional features you would need. Do your homework on that! 3) Are you sure you want to do SMS? There are cheaper (ie. $0) options for mobile messaging nowadays! Hope you find your way to a good provider. |

What cheaper options are there? Are you referring to push notifications via an app? This is for emergency alerts for company employees. I don't think the company is going to have everyone install an app. |

Alex - you hit it on the dot. There's a lot of SMS white label reseller platforms out there, some with expiring and others with text credits that rollover indefinitely without an expiration date. The other item you may want to look into is whether the SMS reseller program forces you to obtain your own dedicated short code or if they allow to use a shared short code as this will also impact your start up cost. |

Regarding platform fees, how are customers going to login to their accounts if we don't use thei SMS provider's platform? Is this done by developing code based on the SMS provider's API and building your own customer admin area?

Right, if you're not using the cloud based user interface provided by the sms platform that you purchased, you could build your own custom UI with an API key. Is there a specific reason you were looking to use your own SMS dashboard instead of the one provided by the mobile vendor? |
