Hello there, I've a android app with 8200+ active users.. I already tried ads.. the amount generated by it was low.. I tried ads + premium, the Google fee is very big and makes the app expensive after their fees, so it wasn't that good too. Right now i removed all the ads and premium and added a simple donation button, until now (1 month) i got 10 donations from 8200 users. I don't know what to do more. Any help? |

It really depends on what your app does. Can you please provide more details?

Oh man, you need to be selling those cards or sell related card/game/hobby advertising space. I'm sure you already know some of those cards sell for hundreds of dollars and the niche has diehard traffic like Apple/iphone type of cult like followers. I'm jealous, looks like a useful app in a great niche.

well my app is the number 1 in europe and almost in all countries on google store, i have 300 new installs per day from google play store traffic only. Their affiliate program is bad, not worthy. i already tried to sell tshirt and mugs and other stuff about the game and i made 30€ in 1 month.. |

Your app content is data for finding the price/value of a card, odds are your app traffic has money on their minds which is the perfect time to make a sales pitch. I would start running question polls at the bottom of your app, see If you can engage traffic, ask them what they want (multiple choice). Sometimes your own traffic will literally tell you what they want/need, that can lead to better informed decision making for you. I hate to sound IM typical but have you considered creating/selling a relevant ebook? Remember, that niche is buying cards, they have money and money spends the same way no matter where they're located in the world. That 8,000+ traffic is pretty darn good for a cult like niche. The only people using your app own cards, odds are someone spent money to get those cards. Those are buyers. I've never made an Android app, can you change that footer content live like a website as often as you want? I'm not sure how Google Play handles the source code, TOS, etc...

What about making another app that's paid ($1 games?) and use the current app as a traffic source? Advertise the game app in the price guide app footer?

The blank space on the app start is where i usualy place things to sell. Like tshirts and stuff like that. I can change it live and i can put whatever i want there to sell. The paid app is not good because google takes around 52% (Google fee + taxes), it makes the app price very low, i had 30 premium subscribers for 0.80€ profit monthly and 3 year subscriptions at 8€ each |

Admob has a feature to unlock features by watching an ad or a video. It is very helpful for most of the big apps which offer a free version. It is much better than risking the UX by trying not so good ways to monetize your app

1. Make ur app paid. Some parts locked for people unless they pay. 2. Use pollfish ads in conjunction with your admob ads, they also give good revenue. 3. Put a link for people to join your email list. Then once they are on ur list, u can market them some other products. (Money is in the list). 4. Create more similar apps and send traffic to those apps. 5. Duplicate app and sell it on Flippa and other marketplaces. |

That is a good way to go. Upgrade to pro is a very proven business technique. There are camera apps which give basic features for free and pro features like full quality in paid detail.
