Am I the only person in the world to need this ?

Hi,
I'm a software engineer.
I have a problem and I would know if some people could be have the same problem in order to develop and sell a solution.

The usecase is very simple
I have created a mobile application.
I know 10 people who could share my application in their media (blog, facebook etc...)

I would like to know the number of installation generated by each people. I mean, I don't want analyze the click on the link but the real installation in the device.

For example :
- Marc has generated 50 installations (23 IOS and 27 Android)
- Jack has generated 28 installations (12 IOS and 16 Android)
- ...

Have you ever encountered this problem ?
If I'm the only person in the world to have this need, it would mean that it's not interesting to develop.

I do not know how this could be done, but it's important to know this certainly would be interesting for the creators of the applications themselves to know the statistics.

Since this doesn't seem to be a popular service to offer, may I ask why YOU feel this is a need? Maybe if we know what could be done with this data, it may make it more important for more people.

For example, as an app developer who creates an app that's available on both android and iOS systems, why would I care how many people are downloading my app on which device? All I should care about is how many total downloads, no?

Sometimes geniuses develop products long before the world knows they're needed.

I didn't see your answer.

Let's assume you have created a mobile application on Android and Ios plateform.
And you want create a partnership with a journalist.
Here is the deal :
For each installation, you will give him 1$.

In this case, you need to have a way to get the information about how many installations have been generated because of him.

Does it make sense ?

a little bit of code will fix this, just have to ping to some server when someone install it and the server will increase the code by one etc...

Ah, ok. So you're basically setting up an affiliate program for your app. That part wasn't clear in OP. It sounds like it would similar to the way affiliates are tracked. I'm not a programmer, so I don't know those intricate details, but it sounds like you're not the only one who would have come across this need.
