Mobile Marketing, 1980's Style
Share on:

To celebrate the new mobile marketing forum I thought this video might be appropriate in that it really does show that 'We've Come A Long Way, Baby!' (Even though we're not 'Virginia Slims' )

1980s mobile phone commercial. [VIDEO]

(Thanks and Kudos to Allen for opening this new forum!)

HA, weighs "only" thirty ounces. That's 6.25 iPhones.

I think Lime Cellular is the best white label SMS marketing platform.

So - this whole "mobile phone" thing...you think it's just a fad?

Don't forget - @ "just" 30oz it doubles as a nutcracker...

Wow that was amazing and sadly I remember the type of adds. Only a few thousand and in 20 years we are looking at billions.

I had the phone shown in the video. Actually its still down my basement. Ah yes the days of analog cellular... which by the way still to this day has superior voice quality over todays digital junk!

lol that is great! I didn't know they even had the bag phones like that in the 80s, I didn't see one until about 1995. Then again I was only born in 1984 so...

I was already in college in '84...

I remember picking up the phone and having the neighbors already on the phone on the neighborhood 'Party line'.

Do you remember the switchover to 'Touch Tone' dialing? I do.

HA HA. <oldmanvoice> These kids have it easy now-a-days with their new-fangled push button telephones. Back when I was a boy I had to actually DIAL the phone, sometimes almost 360 degrees if there was a 9 in the number. </oldmanvoice>

I think Lime Cellular is the best white label SMS marketing platform.
