Those custom branded QR codes are awesome and probably would be more convincing to clients. But how do you make them? Is it a case of photoshop and loads of time??

Thanks for the love Warriors! Thanks to WillR for creating the thread! @JToneyUK - Our clients are seeing great results with branded QR codes. We've found by doing side by side tests that customizing a QR code significantly increases the likelihood that a consumer will scan it. We are also doing a lot of research into how far we can push the customization and have people still recognize the code as a QR code. As for the design process - we've created a system that allows us to create one of these custom codes in a very short amount of time, although each code still requires a designer armed with illustrator for some of the process. With that said, our 3 designers can generate 6 - 10/hour on average but if we push ourselves we can batch create up to 100/hour for larger orders that use the same styling and logo for each code. @KCNL - I am the primary affiliate manager so let me know if you have any questions about our program or would like custom banners, etc... To keep this bad boy going I'm posting a few "Augmented Reality" codes we created with Daqri. Use the Daqri app to scan and see the AR. You can watch video about the Uchi QR code campaign here: daqri: How Sushi Restaurant Uchi Uses Augmented Reality - YouTube I will see if I can get some clients to shoot me photos of custom QR codes out in the wild. |

Those 3 above are awesome!! Making them fit in with the branding is a great idea, but I'd imagine a lot of people do not recognise it as a QR code.

It still has to be important not to lose the purpose of the QR in the design...as nice as these are. It still has to elicit and motivate a physical response (CTA)...not just a visual one -

Very Nice ideas for designing QR Codes. But to bring these images into action one should test them for QR Code Quality Standards as people face a lot of challenges while scanning these. QR Code testing will not only increasing the frequency of scanning but will also help in achieving good results and ultimately will make your campaign a success. |

I always advise downloading a few of the more popular apps and making sure your QR code works in all of them. Some apps don't work as well as others so you want to try and cover all bases.
