Mobile PPC
Share on:
fb share twitter share gplus share more share

I have done a few test with mobile PPC (admob and Google) and like it. Actually had a 30% + conversion on one offer. But because of the testing that I was doing, Google has banned my adwords account(s).

So I'd like information on your best sites/networks for mobile ppc advertising.

Also, I notice that the trend seems to be a min deposit of $50 into any of these mobile PPC systems. While $50 is not much for testing, if I have to also "test" every ad network on top of testing campaigns, it can get expensive quickly.

So if you are aware of any mobile ad networks that have coupons or a lower buy-in than the standard $50 that would be great to know also.

Thanks
Garret

Either I wasn't clear or you didn't read all that I wrote.

If I have to test every network and then test ever campaign, it can get a bit expensive. There are no guarantees that the campaign will do as well anywhere else, as a matter of fact the same campaign bombed at admod. $50 is obviously not too much to test with but if I need to test it with 10 different networks it can get to be.

Re: Mobile PPC

hello
Mobile PPC search advertising is becoming increasingly important for businesses and corporations seeking to reach potential customers who are searching for products and services with their mobile phones. The potential of the mobile platform as an online advertising vehicle is enormous as more and more consumers and business professionals are using their mobile phones while they are on-the-go.Today, mobile phone and PDA users have two search options: SMS or browser-based search. SMS is typically used for quick information look-ups such as stock quotes, weather and sports scores, while browser-based searches are conducted when more detailed information is required such checking out a local restaurant with user reviews and ratings.

Sorry perhaps thats too harsh -what i mean is If i got a 30% conversion ratio from any of the top mobile networks that mi currently using then id be shouting everyone on the forum here a night out.

Me im happy getting way lower than that because of the amount of traffic that is able to be generated.

I almost every time i run a new account throw 100 minimum to test .Why because i know if it converts then im going to make 100 times that back if not way more than that.

A small price to pay I say but that just my humble 2c worth.

And admob works well for me also so you shouldnt have lost out when you tried admob unless you have something set up wrong.

Hi Garret,

I am also interested in the mobile ad arena. I was curious if your offer that converted at 30% was for a free product for list building, a cpa offer, a product or service related ad, or ?. That response seems much better than what I have experienced and read about with mobile ads, so I am glad to hear you have been successful with your testing.

Thanks,
Zenyatta

The 30% campaign was with adwords. While the conversion was great, the traffic they sent wasn't near that (not even in the same world really) as the mobile networks. No, 30% was awesome, heck it's great anywhere. Just that it was on adwords and I have since been banned, heh.

I agree about the money for testing, I just don't want to be shooting in the dark trying to find a decent network.

I would love to talk to you about what I am doing wrong on admob, because it's just not working. I am missing something.

I'll show you exactly what it was, it an for about a week before they banned me so take that into account. But what's really amazing is the conversions that this stupid little form got. vibizop

By the way, I threw all those pages at the bottom on after my suspention hoping that it would fix the issue, the ban came next. Originally the only thing on the domain was the opt in and the thank you page. That one is here http://vimoney.org/thank-you.html .

Garret.....they are banning a lot of people lately. It's like the old days of EPN (ebay partner network) they banned thousands and thousands of people. They can't suck enough

I am well aware of mobile ppc, but can't figure out why everyone is throwing money at it.....just sell Mobile Text Marketing to local businesses....that's the ticket!

Google is currently changing ADMOB biz model to cater only to apps.

This business is changing real fast.

there is a couple other solutions out there that are more stable. Your 30% was pretty good for such a simple form.

Which PHONE MODEL did you choose? IPHONE i guess.

What was the Geo targeting?

PS hows the conversion on SMS marketing for B2B? Nobody seems to be able to answer this one.

All mobile and WAP. Geo was a problem. Was supposed to get only North America but about half ended up being non-North America.

thats an issue here

geo targetting properly is important

i would say as important as the phone itself

your looking for women? go for blackberry

young hype , club type, target the iphone 4

you really need to look at the research before you engage in order to get the proper results

In this case conversion were people who signed up to that autoresponder, it's the only action we were asking for.

I'm surprised that no one has mentioned Jumptap yet - they're light years ahead of most of the other mobile ad networks, especially with their targeting & tracking features.

You won't get very far with $50, but if you have a bigger budget I highly recommend Jumptap!

(My Jumptap account rep basically didn't want to talk to me unless I was spending $200+ per day. You'll have a hard time getting anywhere with less because you won't get enough data to optimize.)

Your site is down, was it a bizopp?

If so, that's why you got banned, they do not like those offers.

Another Adwords fellow banned... join the club. Ya know I read a recent article on the NY Times about Google allowing some scam artist to use their Adwords to sell his "pharmaceuticals", although the FBI was in on it slammed Google for 500 million!

The scammer was paying 200k a month on Adwords or something like that. Money talks...

Search for the story on Bing, doubt google ranks that...

Hey Ray, or others,
What's the best way to put a squeeze page up for mobile users? I've seen any number of systems that essentially shoe horn an aweber opt-in box into a smartphone browser window. Is there anything more sophisticated than that, that can accommodate smartphones, tablets, pads, etc?

Hey if any of you guys know any courses about using these networks and/or list building with this traffic source please fire away.

I bought a course called Mobile Monopoly and it covered it more than anything I have seen but not as much as I would have liked.

I would love more info on this.

Today i tried inmobi first time as referred to me in the course called mobilemonopoly and i ran an cpa offer on it on 07th september it was related to south african dating website, it got approved (active) after some couple of hours of wait and finally the campaign started it was directly linked to offer no squeeze page or website as target url @ 7:00 PM GMT and i left it running and checked the statistic @ around 7:00 AM GMT on 8th september i had got some 3048 impression and 25 clicks as per inmobi statistics to my url but i was shocked to see the statistics on my CPA account where it shown the same stats as it was directly targeted to it, but it is shown as Zero impression and Zero clicks i shoot an email to both CPA and inmobi asking for clarification of this discrepancies immediately it is almost 14 hours have not heard anything from both and still awaiting replies.

Please read the sig file rules

Hey Gacott
you can try adiquity, inmobi, smaato, jumptap or even airpush advertising services for promoting your applications and services over mobile devices. These are good networks for the purpose.

I am Daniel Jones, working in a Mobile Application Development Company as a Mobile App Developer. I enjoys exploring apps on iOS, blackberry, android and other mobile platforms.

Thanks
Garret

Was the 37% conversion rate with opt-ins or actual sales?

Are you saying that you cannot advertise affiliate offers on admob?

If that's the case, that sucks!

You might want to check out some of the WSO'S being sold on this forum.
A lot of them have offer squeeze pages that are also smartphone optimized.

Just do a search for "squeeze pages" or "landing pages".
