How to edit from the cpanel?

Can anyone tell me, is it possible to edit an html mobile site from the cpanel itself without downloading and uploading the files?

If it's possible, how can I do it?

Yes it is. In cPanel, you can do whatever changes you want through the File Manager. Go to File Manager, select the file you want to change and click Code Editor on the menu bar. Save the file when you are done.

Thanks so much. So I suppose this applicable to all kind of webhosting company?

Yes, most cPanels should have the file manager option available for those people who don't have access to FTP. This is how I always used to edit and upload my files when I first started out until I became familiar with FTP. I much prefer FTP but each to their own.

No it is not.

First you should be clear that CPanel is only one of dozens of web hosting control panels but has become a generic term for a hosting control panel.

If you are indeed using CPanel then the advice on this thread is valid if you are using any other control panel it may not be.

Typically, most any hosting control panel has some form of remote HTML editor which does not require you to edit the files on your machine and FTP them back to the server.

It is a case to case basis, since every hosting company has his own style of Cpanel, I suggest to download your template and edit it in your favorite HTML editor, it is more safer.
