Mobile Site Advertising

I'm curious; Other than doing SEO for the Mobile Sites you folks create, what OTHER methods are you using to "let the Public know" about the Mobile Site you've created?

Do you make Signs...with QR Codes so consumers can Scan the Codes?

If so....WHERE do you place these Signs?

Other than posting Signs...what other ways do you have to promote the Mobile Sites you create?

Thanks,
Don Alm...."curious" guy

Midasman09,

I hope I have interpreted your question correctly but what I generally do is to set up some QR codes for the site and display them either on signs, posters or even at the business. Normally I will ask the business owner to put a 'Mobile Only' special offer on the site which drives people to go to the site to take advantage of the offer.

I was at a business the other day to discuss mobile, and he had a table off to the side in the lobby where all of his customers can leave a card stand or stack of cards - There were well over a dozen types of businesses displayed...

I'm going to put up a sign with a QR code going to an Ecard squeeze and then to my mobile example, with a tag like Make Your Business Card EXPLODE! - (I'll show you how) or something to that effect...(it will have copy for the "non-qr code capable crowd" as well -

but I figure when they see that card table display, compare, and then imagine what a web card could do for their exposure...they should be 1/2 way there -

I was thinking "make your business card go viral" too, but I'm getting some feedback that some confuse "viral" with "virus"...(viral sounds negative to them still) - does anyone have any feedback on that?

(C'mon, Don - where's that midas touch - kick around a tag line for me...I'm sure you will come up with something they won't miss ! - )

In fact, that gives me another idea... Does Your Business Card Have "The Midas Touch"? -

I love your idea even if we believe that QR code are doomed since Google let them go!

But for now lets benefit from them.

Your idea has potential.

But maybe more for B2C than B2b

Whats your feedback?

You believe that you can hit the business owner with it?

I always carry my screenshots on my iPhone and have a list of all my clients ready to go, so when I approach businesses I can show them in person. People are marketing in many different ways. It's hard to do it all. I live in a small town in Tennessee that is surrounded by bigger cities. My focus is face to face interaction to help build our local community and region. That alone has me tied up because there is so many businesses. I also use LinkedIn and attend Meetups. One thing I will say though is that if you concentrate on organizations that draw the masses in, you are sure to do well. You can approach one taxi service and sell...and that's good. However, dealing with an entity that holds masses of people is better. You never know who in that mass of people does what. But, you do know that they have friends and so forth. Attack the masses. Good luck in everything you do
