Here's a guy who sees QR Codes as becoming very dangerous. The Inevitable Fate of QR Codes | Apple Box Blog Here's a quick quote... "So just how safe are QR codes? IMHO, they are not safe at all. If you can embed links into the code that will send you anywhere without warning of what the content is, then people will start to use this in malicious ways." Any thoughts? Mike |

That's a very interesting point. It's never came to my attention before, but seems like it could be a real responsibility. Like any technology, users with malicious intent are bound to use it for their personal gain. It's really scary the possibilities there could be for these users. Phishing seems to be a real hot topic with this. Someone could create a cloned version of a website and a fake advertisement. Then someone scans the code and are sent to what they think is the legitimate site. They might enter personal information that would be sent strait to the attacker. SCARY stuff. Here's a great article that goes really in-depth on QR Security. (Although, it seems as if we may just be giving these malicious users exactly what they need by releasing information like this.) http://www.sba-research.org/wp-conte...e_Security.pdf |

QR Codes are great. They are so new that all the research is not out yet. I think as they become more popular there's going to be more FCC restrictions. |

As with all technologies, there will always be people using it to exploit others.

Have someone to scan it for you first, haha. JK, actually I'm not. Seriously though, I can see your point and I think it'll be something we won't have to really worry about since the Japanese have been doing this for awhile, I would think they would've came across this before. Thoughts anyone? Stay chill |

It may be a threat.......but it's also a great way under-utilized marketing tool that has BIG potential.
